New Golf R

Featured Replies

Talking of Nice-quite like the Limestone  Grey Met Colour -looks quite classy ,saw one in the flesh last weekend in Salisbury

The dealer had one.  Didn't like it.  Makes an almost normal looking Golf look very normal.

I am convinced the Lapiz blue is best, closely followed by white.

I guess that's why the Lapiz Blue is the launch colour.  Going to be loads of those around 2nd hand in a few years!

Similar price as a Drive the Deal car in the same spec. :)  (£10 under £30,000)

I have been online to check and DtD can get you £4k off a Golf R and £3k off an S3.

Edit:

Spec I want is £29,850.16p after a discount of £4,213.85p

That's not far off what I'd spend on a top end well specified Yeti... (not that I'd buy the facelift)

This is the spec I got from Carwow in a spec you may have gone for... I hypothesised as few and guessed rest.. almost £5k saving

Best of luck in your search and conclusion.

Nearly forgot to say, that I'm very happy with my Lapiz Blue lot, at under £29500 now at 3300 miles and note dealer price for the same spec/mileage is still North of £31500.

Over £10k on options that's good going! I'd worry about the depreciation on that tho....

Are you sure that there is no UK compound stock or held at dealers at your spec now?

TBH there are so many good cars out there or coming out, you have to wonder how people make a decision! :D

Plenty of loaners at Skoda Dealerships

That would be a good charity challenge. How many borrowed from dealerships vRS Twinchargers can be got to the Santa Pod meet next May.

Hmm

At the risk of upsetting most of the forum... I just don't see the point of big bhp cars with front wheel drive.

At the Leon Cupra level, tuning would give you more power that you can't use most of the time. :D

I'd rather thave the Fiesta ST.  It's 70% of the speed of the cars above, 90% of the fun and 50% of the cost.

Agree with you there :)

Didn't the experts used to say that anything over 200bhp in a fwd is a waste

It's about 220 iirc then it's just waste.

I'm safe then :)

They did until the MK2 Focus RS come out with all it's trickery.

fairly inaccurate

fairly inaccurate

That's why it was in a response to that's what engineers DID think.
