New Golf R

Bit like the Fiesta ST then.lol.

Collectors item!

No, the ST is rather quite common. :D

It's been out for long enough for there to be loads out there.  Golf R is still quite new and limited by production.

Demo. 5k. REVO claiming +95 bhp and +90 lb/ft torque gains for stage 1. Shirley not.

I know the sales manager who was running it, so am confident it hasn't been abused. Not even been driven hard, he's not by any means a hooligan.

Unless they were running two identical cars as demos it would have also been the test drive car for any punters thinking of buying a Cupra 280.

Not that it matters, they are built to take a bit of stick.

It wouldn't bother me if the price was right.

Warranty status?

According to howmany left if i am looking correctly,

there are 200 DSG & 58 manuals Registered in the UK in the 2nd quarter of 2014,

and nothing showing yet for the 3rd quarter.

Test Quote. Trying to trigger this t- issue.

It's generally when you click on an update saying you've been quoted.  The t-quote issue is just that one post Colin.

Standard. But given my feelings towards mods then I'm not fretting over it.

Richard, they had 3 demo cars, Lord knows why (they admitted they messed up their forecast demand ). For whatever reason they are not selling as well as hoped, so it was used as a demo but it's not had many trips out. But you know there's little you can do to any new car during a test drive to knacker it mechanically short of crashing it. I'm not worried anyway, my experience with two remapped and hard driven octys has been sufficient to mitigate any worries in that respect. My current octy was used by same guy for same purpose.

More interesting is the imminent release of stage 1 for the engine from Mansfield. Please form an orderly queue. I don't believe the REVO claim of 360bhp / 350lb/ft

Have you yet driven a Seat Leon Cupra 280 in the circumstances to experience its abilities,

because they are considerable as standard?

Come on a test drive with me sometime,

because i like to see what they can do, and be sure they are not made of chocolate.

Seeing when the gearbox does what you want it to do etc,

& that it does not think it is boss.

The Seat Leon Cupra 280 is pretty damn good.

I filled the tank with 99 ron and made sure of it.

Blimey-ski :) . No I've not really tried it out, but fear not I won't be rewriting any firmware for at least 3 months. I've got a wedding to pay for, so such fripperies will need careful domestic timing

I'm hoping George that std factory mode is all I need, but I suspect like a shallow bhp magpie I'll give in. I've had such a hoot driving the octy that I know what value it delivers, bearing in mind the so so handling of the octy. Either way I'm not about to rush into it, but I do know that at 3k my octy produces similar torque to the cupra, and 3k is where the cross country overtaking action is at.

Is this when it shows you the encryption thing of the quote?

I get it when i like a post.

Although it may be a different thing. I dno.

What is your Octavia & what is done to it,?

because it would have to be some car to go like the Leon !

Remember that the Dealership & Salesperson or Management are putting in 95 ron Unleaded,

and possible at the Supermarket Filling Station.

My favourite car of the day.

But having driven one, (not this one) and a CLA A45 AMG.

i would rather have a Leon Cupra 280 Sub 8 as a daily driver.

(dressed down though in a dull colour and less obvious wheels.)

Edited by goneoffSKi

I quite fancy having a go in an A45, not cheap tho!

Not a merc guy tbh. Much prefer to have a bmw myself.

Apart from the c63's. And thats not for the car, just the sound.

Yeah I know what you mean mate. The only mercs I have ever driven have had a stupid foot operated parking brake. Put me right off!

Yeah I've driven the vito van with that.

Such a stupid idea.

Wtf :wall:

I would not have the Black wheels or Red calipers, & put a A180 on the rear of the A45 AMG.

Shark remap. A guaranteed 240 bhp, though RR plots from various threads suggest more like 250 to 255. All I know as I haven't had mine before and after dyno'd is that it feels consistently faster than my 06 vrs with same treatment. It's not aggressive, in fact when you revert back to std map it's not as obvious as you might expect, which for me is a Good Thing.

What else? An H&R RARB, which was easily a better £/fun upgrade truth be told, and a sachs racing clutch. That's it.

Is it getting put back to standard before it goes into the Dealer,

or are you letting them know so that they can let a new owner have the choice ot they can put a standard MAP on,?

because the Remap can mean them having invalid insurance if the car & ECU ever needs examined,

It happens that a driver can have their claim rejected for an undeclared Remap.

Edited by goneoffSKi

Std map, std RARB, the only thing I can't change is the clutch

Is the dealership doing  a special warranty for you then, as I thought that tuning beyond standard was an VAG (Seat) warranty no-no.
