Very nice work B)

Would work well with coming home lights :)

Looks great. Would it be better if they were inside the door?

As you've got the door in the way.

Great work as always though Gee :)

Well they look great! Good work!

there will be as son as they arrive :)     i  wanted them in the mirrors as Richards ST i borrowed for a week had them there and they were spot on in the darkness where i park the car at work.   i plan to put some in the bottom of the doors.

Jars,

they look nuts with the coming home lights,  my cars like a christmas tree when i unlock it lol

thanks lads,    not bad looking for some sh1tty LEDs in some mirrors as another brisky said they are last night..      up ones bottom sir  :finger:

mirrors coming off after dinner to be LED`d up me thinks. :)

finished my LED project..

both mirrors now wired,  both lower door puddle lights wired, and i added some inner door handle LEDs because im a tart and it adds a little more white to my already white and blue interior.

bit of a mission as the LEDs i bought to look there best needed to be pressed in.  This meant FIRE!   i like fire..

heres what i did.

took mirror bottoms off by undoing the 2 little grub screws...

20150102_192959.jpg

drilled a 20mm hole...  heated up the hole as the lights are 22mm with a recess..     pressed the led unit in and wait for science to happen.

20150102_192959.jpg

the plastic shrinks and makes it tighter than any glue or bolts.

20150102_200227.jpg

20150102_200236.jpg

run the wires through the mirror and fannys ya aunt..

now onto the door cards..

i needed a puddle light car side of the door, so fitted them in the same way...

20mm hole, fire, bottle and science!

its important not to set the plastic alight, if it starts to bubble you will feck it up..   u want it so it goes soft but not to soft you push the hole through..

20150102_200624.jpg

20150102_200627.jpg

mite need a couple of goes as u need to heat it up gradually

you need to be uber quick or it will cool down again..   run the wire and press it in.

20150102_204450.jpg

now i know i could just buy a strip light and stick it under the door, or could drill small LEDs in..  but thats long and sticking things under doors normally ends up in falling off.   these are scratch and water proof so should last.

Wish mine was that shiny Gee, all the cold weather has got under my lacquer on the roof in various different places and looks like a cat has been dragged from one end off the car to the other. Might paint it this year if it gets any worse as its gone from sleeper look to just plain un-ketp

Carbon fibre roof Ben ;)

Thought crossed my mind could be a possibility if I have a spare roof panel to make a mould from then a carbon roof skin

carbon skin on race blue would look sexual with little drippy bits......     as a cheaper option mate you could just wrap it for now??

If the shell is getting cut up then yeah. Wings first

Thought about it but there's a few areas that will need to be tackled sooner rather than later. Car was owned by an elderly woman before me and has been re-sprayed down one side at some point in it's life. Its not a bad job but the paint work has seen better days. In the ideal world I want it in BMW Boston Green but then things start getting expensive

And then shell has well over 160k on it

Car looks brill mate.

Love all the new led's. Looks ace!

Want to do it to mine but just focusing getting it driveable first, haha!
