Thank you, guys!

I have some reading to do.

So, I did some reading. What I understand the coding and adaptations from this link are accurate:

https://www.drive2.ru/l/551484522118513248/

From the link and from the comments here I've managed to gather these information:

19 Gateway (coding):
  FPA_Funktion_AMB: active

09 Central Electrics (adaptations):
  IDE09731-ENG154511-Int. Light:
    2nd generation-Ambiente_Farbwahl_FPA_waehlbare_Kopplung : active
    2nd generation-Ambiente_Fahrprofil_Individual : 1
    2nd generation-Ambiente_Farbwahl_FPA_waehlbare_Kopplung_Status_hmi_default : coupled
    2nd generation-Innenlicht : Keine_Spannungsanforderung

  ENG153712-ENG154510-Ambientelicht Zuordnung der Farbe zum Fahrprofil :
    Fahrprofil_0: 1 (doors open) (white)
    Fahrprofil_1: 1 (comfort) (white)
    Fahrprofil_2: 1 (normal) (white)
    Fahrprofil_3: 4 (sport) (red)
    Fahrprofil_4: 1
    Fahrprofil_5: 9 (eco) (dark green)
    Fahrprofil_6: 1
    Fahrprofil_7: 6 (individual) (purple)
    Fahrprofil_8: 1
    Fahrprofil_9: 1
    Fahrprofil_10: 1
    Fahrprofil_11: 1
    Fahrprofil_12: 1
    Fahrprofil_13: 1
    Fahrprofil_14: 1
    Fahrprofil_15: 1
    Ambiente : Sollspannungsanforderung 13.5V

The colors for the profiles can be these values:

1   should be White
2   should be Yellow
3   should be Orange
4   is red
5   should be pink
6   should be purple
7   is 'dark' blue
8   is 'high' blue
9   is 'dark' green
10? should be 'light' green.

According to my OBD11 controller scan it seems I'll need to upgrade my firmware. (sorry for the hungarian labels)

In controller 09 Central Electrics the software version number is 0253. Somewhere in the comments here I read that I'll need at least 4344. With the firmware upgrade the disco effect should be resolved.

Is this correct? Can someone double check these informations for me?

Thank you for checking! After the update will I be able to change the color of the individual mode via manual mode, like the factory behavior?

Yes.

It will only let you change the colour of one profile. The stock behaviour is to change the individual profile colour which is why Ambiente_Fahrprofil_Individual is set to 7.

I've added extracts from both a Russian and English MY19 Octavia manual:

image.thumb.png.5e8eb50bf9855af73219d74cd0b23345.png

image.thumb.png.ef5dd98459f97e725892812052c10018.png

So I did the mod. Every mode seems to be okay, except the Comfort Mode where the ambient light turns off. Changing to the next driving mode will light up the previous color, then immediately the selected mode's color.

Aaaand in the infotainment menu I can see the disco.

Also, the color of the individual mode seems to be hardcoded this way and cannot be set using the manual setting. I have a feeling that I will need to update the system firmware for this mod to work properly.

If you use automatic mode, you can't change the colour of any mode indeed, unless using VCDS. They do get the colour, that you specified in your settings. That's why it's called 'Automatic mode'... ;)

If you have disco mode, I suggest you read my latest posts or those from @igrozan who helped me a lot to set it right. I did get rid of 'disco mode' without any firmware update.

Good luck!

It seems I overlooked a tiny detail about IDE09731-ENG154511-Int. light: 2nd generation-Ambiente_Fahrprofil_Individual. My guess if I set this to a profile which I don't have - 4 for example - this disco mode should be gone. I'll try this tonight.

From the manual page shared by @igrozan I thought the color of the individual profile in automatic mode can be set using the manual mode's color.

image.png

But the hardcoded colors are fine by me, this is not a deal breaker.

Also, I've seen a tear wipe drop mod here.

there are from MY23 Mk3.FL, must be similar

Tear Drop Wipe For Front Wipers

09 Central Electrics

            Subsystem: 48x LL 221122

            Long coding

                        164DDD

            ->         1E4DFD

            -> Byte 0

                        Bit 3 "Adaptative Post/Tear Wiping Active"

            -> Byte 2

                        Bit 5 "Post/Tear Wiping Active"

or         Adaptation

            -> Front_wiper

            ---> Traenenwischen Front Status:

                        not active        ->         active

The adaptation part is not a problem, but I couldn't find the bytes to update in long coding using OBD11. Is there a way to select the indicated subsystem? Or this mod is only doable with VCDS?

Edited by enisz

Setting the IDE09731-ENG154511-Int. light: 2nd generation-Ambiente_Fahrprofil_Individual to 4 did solve my problem, the comfort mode ambient ligth works now.

Thanks for the help!

not directly `09 Central Electrics` -> `Long coding`,

but 09 . . . -> `Subsystems` -> `48x LL 221122`  -> `Long coding`

You'll need to upgrade your CAN gateway firmware to get the that working.

I had similar issues on a MY18 Octavia - few details in this thread: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/479137-infotainment-lighting-query/

Short version, flashing the gateway from SW:4326 to SW:4344 solved it. After flashing it will need parameterising with a new dataset... No issues with component protection :)

As you have SW:5323, you would need to find a suitable 5xxx firmware version, probably from a MY19 or newer car and dataset to fix it 👍

That sounds way too advanced for me. I'm not changing color too often anyways. I'm happy with this as it is.

Thank you! I tried googling it but couldn't find it.

Guys i need your help. I did search in the topic but couldn't find it.

Is it possible (with VCDS) to close the botnet from the button next to gearbox and from the key fob.

Now i can only open in from there but i can only close it from the button on the botnet itself.

Its Superb 2019 facelift.

No unfortunately not, it's possible on 2015 / early 2016 cars with VCP, but not on later cars.

@enisz

For tear drops wipe on front wipers, maybe you can try this:

- 09 Central Electrics > Security Access (31347) > 10 Adaptation :

- Select channel "(6B)-Front_wiper - Traenenwischen Front Status"

- Change value to "Active"

- Click on "Do it"

Then,

- 09 central Electrics > 07 Coding

- Select 2nd line form drop down menu "1-3V1 995119-48x LL 70726"

- Byte 0, tick bit 3 "Adaptative Post/Tear Wiping Active"

- Byte 2, tick bit 5 "Post/Tear Wiping Active".

Your code shall change from 16xxDD to 1ExxFD

For tear drops wipe on rear wiper (if equipped), maybe you can try this

- 09 Central Electrics > Security Access (31347) > 10 Adaptation :

- Select channel "(8B)-Rear_Window_Wiper - Traenenwischen Heck"

- Change value to "Active"

- Click on "Do it"

Then, (only if mod on front wiper is not already done)

- 09 central Electrics > 07 Coding

- Select 2nd line form drop down menu "1-3V1 995119-48x LL 70726"

- Byte 0, tick bit 3 "Adaptative Post/Tear Wiping Active"

- Byte 2, tick bit 5 "Post/Tear Wiping Active".

Your code shall change from 16xxDD to 1ExxFD

Done on my MK3 estate MY18 (built in octobre 2017), works fine.

Thanks for the tear drops whipe mod!

Unfortunatelly it is not working for me. In my subsystem dropdown I don't have 1-3V1 995119-48x LL 70726.

303Screenshot_20240108_01.jpg

I tried to select 48x LL 180510, it has the same values and after updating Byte 0 Bit 3 and Byte 2 Bit 5 the updated hex value became 1E 4D FD. Still, after wiping the windscreen the tear wipe does not start. (also did the adaptation for (6B)-Front_wiper - Traenenwischen Front Status too).

Strange why u don't have that.

U must have a different BCM version.

I was able to successfully activate the tear drop wipe, using the same instructions that @Bap33 provided above.

This is how mine looks.....

If this is about the trunk lid, I made my own 2018 model

@enisz Did you check if the mod was successful using your wipers, while your car was idling or did you try while driving?

Because, I think tear drops wiping doesn't work when the car is stopped and idling, only working while driving.

If I remember well, I had been fooled by this important ´detail’ and thought my mod was unsuccesful.

Hello,

Has anyone tried coding the mirror puddle lights to turn on when going in reverse ? In other word code them to turn on/off in the same time as reverse lights.

Sorry for my English, but do you call mirror puddle lights? 🤔

@Bap33 the lighting under the mirror.

I did the coding with the engine off and the ignition on. When it was done I turned off ignition, then turned on ignition and started the engine. I did the windshield wiping when the car was stationary and I went for a short test drive but there were no tear drop wipe.

I wanted to do this only for the front wipers, I didn't check the rear wipers.

It's in the Info section in OBDeleven for the Module 09.

U can c mine below.

I too have only done the front wiper tear drop as mine didn't come with rear wipers.
