Virgin Experience Day

Recommended Posts

So my Partner has bought me a great birthday present.

Single Supercar Thrill plus High Speed Passenger Ride.

Not sure which circuit to chose ,relatively near me. Or for that matter what car to sample.

Choice of Aston Martin, Ariel Atom,Audi R8,Farrari,Jaguar,Lambo,or Porsche.

Not sure of model or spec yet.

What would you recommend in terms of circuit (100miles from Marlborough Wilts or a Motor.

I'd be happy with whichever car.

I know these things can have a habit of being cancelled due to weather / track issues  or the place you want to go to doesn't have the car you want - so I hope it all works out for you, and you have a blast.

Another one here who was intrigued by the title.

Who doesn't remember their own "Virgin Experience Day"?

Oh and if this is actually about cars, I hope you have more luck than me - I drove 3 1/2 hours to Knockhill to find the track was flooded and my single seater driving was cancelled.

Never got another chance to go before we moved down south again.

I would say the Atom, so unlike the others and so far removed from a day to day road car.

The new Ariel Nomad looks fantastic.

I did one a couple of years ago at Stratford upon Avon, I chose the Ferrari F430 (always had a soft spot for Ferrari’s) and an Aston Martin Vantage.

The Ferrari was much quicker and louder, but very basic inside, the Aston was still pretty quick but was a nicer car to drive for me though... and apparently the instructors fight over who will drive the Astons to and from the circuit.

Would I do another? yes, would I try some different cars? well an Aston would still be on the list  :D

Me too, " Virgin Experience Day " I was thinking more of a ride on a 25 year old 6 foot Blonde

Blimey! A six foot blonde who's still a Virgin at 25 would be hard to find around my way. Is there something wrong with her?

I've drivven the Porscher 911 Turbo, good car but not a preference if there's something faster. Having seen others drive it I'd say go for the Atom. I never got a chance to even get a passenger lap in it it was so fully booked. I got a passenger lap in a McLaren Mc12-4c, that was good. As for tracks, look at what ones are available and take the most track like one. Don't go for an airfield. You won't have time to learn the track and get used to the car and an airfield is just marked out with barely distinguishable cones and you'll never get up to speed.

It depends where you are trying to find a virgin.  Apparently the are in very short supply in some areas. :notme:

Especially Lincolnshire, I wonder why!

Virgin Experience Day..

Loads of built up to the event, then it's all over in a flash and everyone is a bit dissapointed.

What? what? They never give you long in the car and you don't get to floor it. What were you all thinking?

I'd probably opt for the atom.

The others will, well I think, from a limited time in a new ish porsche feel removed unless you can be mad with it. The atom you're out there with the bees wind in your t-shirt, it's an experience I reckon :)

That said, things like the lambo are big ticket items, I can't see myself ever owning one, so that too is an experience...

My 2p.

  • 7 months later...

So after all this delaying, managed to get a booking for early July - Porsche 911.

Not sure of spec etc. yet - Will be an enjoyable belated birthday present.
