What are you on about?

You can't be part of a conspiracy that you don't know anything about.

You can certainly be the unwitting victim of multiple undiscovered conspiracies if you are George ;)

Well you see,

it all comes out in the wash, and vxh26 this is a nice little conspiricy that the Volkswagen group were involved in,

and it is not their first, just the one they had to admit to.

You were a great defender of VW and how they always do the right thing by the customers.

So as the Books are opened, and scrutinised we will get to the other stuff like Manufacturing Failures,

Were they falsifying in Germany component failure numbers, engine failures etc.

Warranty Claims and the Money Underwriters had to pay out on, even if that was the VW Financial part of the VWG,

and who were supplying the Components in which world areas and Tax Zones and which parts were manufactured in the EU, exported to out with the EU then get reimported.

Where and when Taxes were paid and reclaimed, and much more of the likes.

....................

Probably not much point checking the recent VIN Checkers on 'Recalls; that Skoda have added to the Websites

until the Volkswagen Group get up the New Sites that were spoken about so that people can check

on the vehicles that need checked,

as VW now are making plain this is not 'Recalls' ,  just Service Actions.

I'm with George on this ! , there are more revelations to come I think and not just from VW , which apparently have been made aware of the scam since 2007 so saga continues to deepen

How would I find that out? Sorry if this has been discussed earlier in the thread, but it takes me ages to scroll through it all on my phone.

Also, thanks for your quick responses and patience with me. I'm new around these parts.

If you PM me the VIN I will check on ETOS, I think it tells you on there ;)

Vw did exactly this with the Amarok Cayman gave either a full refund or offered a trade up to a higher spec brand new model because they couldn't carry the advertised weight so didn't meet the criteria for a commercial vehicle and the tax implications involved. From memory some of those where 18 months old so a pretty good deal for any customer affected 18 months free motoring.

As I have told the dealer, I will give them every option to sort the car, and I am confident that non of the VW Group want any more bad press which is all they would do if they **** people off by ruining there cars...

I hope that they have done a blanket recall of ALL EU5 cars, but some will, some won't need anything doing, they will be checked at the time.. I also hope that the cheat code is just there, dormant and never needed for the UK/EU so it will just be a case of removing what is classed as illegal code (Which may have never even been activated) and we carry on as normal..

They have screwed up, big style, but unlike some I am not sitting here rubbing my hands together thinking "What can I spend my compensation on".. I am not interested... IF, and it is an IF they ruin what is a perfect car, then I request the option to upgrade and pay the difference, as my Superb is 14 months still only has 8000 miles on the clock...

I really see this is all blown up for nothing, they will fix the car and make sure they keep 132000 Skoda owners happy... If it was me I would not want to **** 132000 off and lose them as customers..

My car affected, so will contact the dealer tomorrow. I have already emailed my details to Slater & Gordon via their VW TDI link today. When the modifications are made, I will know if the performance of the car has been changed for the worse. I always do a tank to tank check on every fill up. Then I can decide my course of action. if car shows a deterioration, I plan to go for a full refund, as owned same spec car for 3 years from new. Always liked the low down torque of CR diesel and car suited me perfectly. Next car was going to be a petrol and was looking now, as my annual mileage now only 5-6,000 pa max and mainly short journeys.

Bought another x demo diesel in January 2014, as only has 2,300 miles on the clock warranted from new, old car was 3 years old with 32,000 on the clock and needed service / warranty + breakdown cover / new tyres / brake fluid change/paintwork  / alloy scuffs repairs and gearbox oil change later. New Octavia was too big.

We shall see

Here's hoping you get a nice big payout for all your troubles...

Nice to hear on the radio today that every VAG diesel has already taken a 3% drop in value, and could lose even more once a list of affected models is confirmed.

Prices may drop whilst the press are ****ting on VW Group... rubbing it in peoples faces with a lot of bull****...

I ignore it all now.... my car is subject to a recall... GOOD! at least I know were I stand.. I believe that Skoda will put the car right if needed, it will be done to my satisfaction and will retain me as a happy customer..

In 12 months it will all be forgotten and prices will be normal... Also, if you buy another Skoda from a Skoda dealer I am sure they understand the situation they will look after you.. I know my dealer will do there best to keep me happy and retain my custom!

Lets face it until October NON of the VW Group have even confirmed what the solution will be...so far all speculation to take with a pinch of salt..

Stuart, get your name down with one of the lawyers first mate. There's bound to be a couple of quid compensation available after the thieves have taken their cut of the payout..

Rather than being scared off the VAG brand if I was in the market for a new or used car I'd be knocking down their door for a cracking deal!

Not interested :) I am not lining there pockets ...

I will give Skoda my absolute support and I am confident that they will fix the car to my satisfaction, on top of that my dealer will look after me ;)

I was talking to mate of mine in a VW dealer last night,me said you wouldn't believe the amount of people that have come in ethe last few days asking for great deal son affected cars!!!!

Since this all started I've been doing something I hadn't done for ages. Taking the Octavia VRS out at 2:00 AM on a nice A and B road run, and grinning from ear to ear in the process. Sport mode on, little or no traffic, let the fun begin.

Indeed.

Why didn't the MOT tests pick this up ? Surely, the discrepancy between NOX values at idle and at speed should have stood out like organ stops ?

As mentioned above, the diesel emissions test is a very basic one so although a DPF is required for many cars to meet the particulate limit they don't test the particulate count and only check visually for a presence of a DPF.  Furthermore there's been some recent articles about the huge difference in CO2 and Nox emissions on European cars (not just VW) between what they were tested and certified at compared to:

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/sep/14/nine-out-of-10-new-diesel-cars-in-breach-of-eu-pollution-rules-report-finds

Before the VW scandal blew up, the finger was being pointed at inaccurate testing and a new testing regime was to be proposed but the car manufacturers have delayed that.

Spoke to a VW dealer on Saturday friend of a friend when we where out for a meal, apparently the number of cancelled orders they've been hit with is unreal, he's confident vw will sort everything for customers whether all the dealerships survive in the mean time remains to be seen they'd had 6 passats for a company fleet cancelled on the Friday that where meant to be delivered on the Monday.

Scroll up the page to my post at 16:25.

Gotcha thanks, our time settings must be different as it shows at 15:25.  Just in case you're not aware, if you want to link back to one of your posts you can click the post number and it will give you a link to it.  I was looking for a VW/Audi one as a couple of friends are wondering if their cars are affected but I guess they'll need to check by engine number.

Checked this morning out of curiosity and nothing. Checked again just now to get this:

Dear customer,
a recall campaign has been found for the entered VIN xxxxxxx.

Please contact your preferred service partner as soon as possible, who will provide you with all necessary information and service to ensure your safety and car functions. If further assistance is needed, please contact the „ŠKODA Customer Hotline“.

As it happens I need to see them anyway, as I've just discovered yet more zinc inclusion/blisters on my Yeti's doors, so they'll need to take photos, etc. I'm sure they won't be busy at all...

Was walking the dog and posting from my phone at the time, more limited options for linking etc.

I suspect this is a blanket recall of all EU5 cars, maybe when they go in the will decide which need anything doing... I tried aboyt 10 Skoda used car VIN numbers earlier and everyone was on there...

All because the press have blown this up... people should wait until VW/Audi/Seat and Skoda say "This is what is happening etc"

It would not stop me cancelling, I still love my current car, nothing wrong with it, I would go now and order a new Superb no problem...
