We have no need to worry tomorrow because once the vote have been counted the World will return to it's former glory and we can almost instantly forget about all the problems, forget about the 18+Trillion and growing debt. None of it matters anymore.

Funny, but having spent a week with a boat load of Americans in Germany I would disagree with both those assumptions.

The thing is, as happened in the UK, people are electing for something different. Might be the wrong choice but it shows that the people are fed up with same old same old. Nobody knew (still knows) what will happen when/if we leave the EU but as a country we voted for changes.

Looks like the same has happened in the US. They seem to be voting for someone new, different, uncertain and potentially damaging..but it's clear the people want change instead if the usual politics that come with the experienced candidates.

It's amazing how people believe that the president of the USA has total power. The US voting system will not change if Trump wins.

There are many parallels to be drawn between brexit and the US election. All those how voted leave / Trump are idiots and didn't believe they would win. We live in a democracy, perhaps we should have a system where 'idiots' are not allowed to vote. Remain / Hilary lost (assuming Trump wins)because there campaigns were not convincing enough and a lot of the population are not satisfied with the current situation. Whether the future will be any better remains to be seen.
