Vrs estate boot protection

Featured Replies

Hello

what do other VRS owners have to protect the rear bumper for getting stuff in and out of the boot?

Ive had a few near misses getting the bikes in and out.

I have a had a quick internet search but wanted to know what others use.

I've only ever used a thick blanket, which I'd then wrap the bike up in inside of the car to protect the seats etc.

Some have suggested the bumper protectors on eBay and the like but to be honest they look a bit naff and they don't cover the whole bumper - you know the bit where your pedal catches!

I'm the same as above but instead use a thick towel, most people use superskoda for the bumper protector.

I have the OE skoda one from superskoda (linky), but i wouldn't recommend it. I would go with the rearguards one, which offers far more protection (linky).

I have the rear guards one it's great. Covers the whole top and over the edge of the bumper

Rearguards & hatchbag - no contest

plus with the hatchbag you can get a version that lets you put the seats down and still be protected - clever use of Velcro - simple well designed and very effective

I went with the rear guards one. No complaints so far.

Rearguards.

I think I am spotting a trend.

Rearguards for bumper protection, Boot Buddy for boot protection.

Harder decision what colour would you have as my car is silver?

The matt black matches the lower bumper and looks OEM, imho.

Does the gloss black/carbon effect not scratch, defeating the purpose of having one?

The stainless steel one is actually cheaper and may look okay on silver?

I had a few months with the carbon one on mine with a Spring Spaniel in and out twice a day.

Looks fine still :)

Gotta be the matt black one, works on every colour car...

yep matt black

Seconded for the Hatchbag option.  Got the full interior boot protected and went for the option with a flap that folds out.  Gives greater area of protection when loading the boot with all manner of junk, and so far has worked perfectly for 7+ months of two large Dalmatians jumping in and out.

Thanks Everyone

Rear Guard ordered in black to match the rest of the black pack on the car.

Picture to follow when it arrives and fitted.

daft question, but can these be removed in the future should you so wish?

Don't see why not, it's only double sided tape holding it on.

A bit of heat would help, then clean up the residue with tar remover and a bit of polish.
