Raised it with Lex via our fleet dept, worth a try at least.

Was this a call from Skoda UK or your local dealership?

Our car went into dealership today to be looked at. They said they not aware of any such problem.

Skoda UK, my dealership said the same at first..... seems the standard fob off.

Did you make them drive it with you present?

Oops sorry a repeat post... They didn't drive with me present but I made it very clear that there definitely was a problem, on forums in press etc etc

we have also found car can completely lose power if going over speed bumps in 2nd gear. doesn't stall just complete loss of power. Dealership thinks this is due to traction control safety feature and nothing can be done about it!

They gave me an 1.4 TSI petrol Octavia estate to drive whilst mine is with them... It's a dream to drive. In any gear. It's doesn't try to get you to change up gears earlier than you'd expect (which we found with Koraq). Completely different driving experience. There is something very very wrong with the Karoq 1.5 TSI.

It's not pleasant around town at all....after 20 minutes of driving it my left knee starts to throb as I'm over compensating and being very precise with the clutch.

I had an update call today from Skoda, they called me:ohmy:

No fix still, they are aware and are working on a fix within a reasonable time frame, I asked them to define reasonable and provide an ETA which they of course could not

Their legal dept advises them that at present they would not consider the vehicle for rejection as they consider it not to be a safety issue and they are still within a reasonable time frame regarding finding a fix.

I again stated this is a safety issue as the car only last week managed to kangaroo and then stall at a junction, this has at least been noted.

Hmmmm...the Consumer Rights Act says you can reject a car within the first 6 months if the fault can’t be fixed. Not sure how we stand if we keep the car past the six month limit while waiting for this fix to turn up...

Nor me but I'd imagine so long as you have logged the issue within 6 months then it should be fine. I'll ask our contracts manager see if I can get some advice.

Local dealership has replicated kangarooing problem in our car and reported to Skoda. They have also found similar problem with their DSG demonstrator which they are also referring up the Skoda chain. Skoda DO know about the problem - a TPI (Technical Product Info) sheet was apparently issued to all dealerships on 19.10.18 advising that engine jerking experienced until engine reaches 17 degrees celsius - awaiting a production change! No timeline given.

According to Consumer Rights Act 2015 you can reject a car with issues within 30 days after delivery if fault was there from start - get full refund and entitled to full invoice price of any part exchanged car + road tax + VAT etc.  You can reject a car within  6 months for faults but will not get full refund (company can claim a reduction in value of new car) and you will get a reduced cash amount for any part exchanged vehicle. You should allow Skoda to try and fix problem first of all.... You have to notify Skoda UK and PCP/Finance company of your intention to reject car and they will liaise with local dealership.

We are reluctantly having to consider rejecting our car as we have a number of other issues with the car.

Could you tell us what are the other issues you are facing with the car?

Should be fun if we have a prolonged "beast from the east" event this winter. Interesting it can affect DSG too.

In addition do you all guys experience the problem with cold engine? or Any time?

I do the latter.

Anytime, hit or cold for me. No difference.

Maybe Littleowl misheard 70 as 17?

17 seems too specific, an odd number.

LittleOwl thanks for the update, it confirms my suspicion that the DSG has the problem but is very minor imo obviously compared to the manual versions.

I live up a slight hill and when starting car and driving away (downhill) in mornings it is a bit too juddery which I never got in all the years of driving my Octavia. (Driving one since 1998 after getting one of the first in the UK).

It does not last long but obviously there is some underlying design issue. Let's hope it can be sorted for the manual drivers as if I had the issue I would be trying to hand the car back...

Seems worse when cold for me.

Is your car the 1.5Tsi manual such as ours. Sorry to hear you've had so many issues. Our car has done 9,500 miles since January and only the 1st gear hiccups spoils the driving experience. We hope there will be a fix by the time the first service is due in around 9 months time.

Hi

I have just put in a tank of high octane fuel and its made no difference and in fact, I think the fuel consumption is worse. and the issues still remain. Mine does it at any time hot or cold. Has anyone noticed that when they start the car up when its warm that the rev counter goes all over the place for a few seconds before settling down?

After all the issues with my car, the gearbox is know getting very stiff when selecting 1st and 2nd  gears it's like it's on an elastic band. Just another issue to confront the dealership with.

Just attended an Armistice concert, kangaroo'd through the gravel car park in front of 150 people: very embarrassing. This is happening  all the time, and we've only had the TSi 1.5 manual  for 3 weeks!

Welcome to our club!!

Get down to your dealer and register your complaint.

Insist this is known about (press and forums) and  that you want it escalating up to Skoda Tech.

The  more complaints we have, the more chance we have of a fix.

Try Skoda customer services as well but they’ll just bounce you back to the dealer but at least it will still be logged.

This fault spoils an otherwise great car.

Why was it released with this obvious fault?!!!

Back to the dealers tomorrow....

Every time I slow to a stop, the engine revs  blip upwards even though my foot is on the brake pedal.

No difference whether mine is hot or cold, 95 or 99 Ron fuel. No difference!! Still kangaroos on moving of if revs are not above 2k or if  no revs at all are used.

If within 30 days , reject the car for a full refund under Consumer Rights Act 2015. This period is extended by the time a car is away from you for investigation. Have a look at  www.thecarexpert.co.uk for more info. This is a known fault (Skoda issued a TPI on 19.10.18) and, therefore, cannot deny it. The same is happening with the VW TRoc 1.5TSi and people have started to reject cars and get refunds (if you look at their forums). Our dealership cannot offer a solution. We have contacted Skoda UK for their response (we have received nothing sensible from them so far). Giving them a few days more to reply and then we are rejecting the car. It's brand new no-one should have to put up with it.

By the way under Consumer Rights Act the car does not need to be undriveable, it must be "of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and free from any defect". You do not have to argue any other point with Skoda other than that the car should be free from any defect when you get it..... Hmmmm don't think they can do that can they

You have to remember that you have to give the manufacturer a chance to repair the fault and as Skoda has recognised the fault and are doing something about it. We just don't know when. My car was not taken back because Skoda said they are working on a fix which will sort the issue out.

the REPAIR/Fix may end up being worse than the problem/characteristic and that the biggest worry

Over on the T-Roc forums, a VW customer has been told the fix will be available in the 2nd quarter of 2019.
