Nah Shy, I think my electric windows and power steering are solving  problems that never existed...:D

?? Humour has got so dry, that I will have to take a break and make a cup of tea. No doubt the penny will drop later on Wino's comment, it usually happens when I'm on the bog.....:notme:

TPI's are not recalls, how many times do I need to tell you, Shy :shake:

Bare with me it was a chance to have a pop at VW. You really must stop taking everything I type so seriously, it's bad for your stress levels, I'm so chilled I'm virtually horizontal at the moment and my Doctor said I should easily reach 106. A bad day on the Golf Course though would be shooting 106.

Sorry @xman, my remark didn't really make any sense in the context. I don't really understand caravans at the best of times; let alone when they're SHOUTED.

As if I ever have....:shake:

Doctor obviously one of Shy's golfing chums. 106? yeah right Doc, let me buy you another double......

You've probably worked out which one to avoid hopefully.

In Auto Express someone wrote to them to ask why there was a flat spot when pulling away in first gear. AE replied that VW going to issue a software update soon but no date given as they were still working on it.

I guess everyone will have to wait until Q2 - April 1 - a certain irony there....

Well I emailed the dealer I purchased the Karoq from and asked, this was in the email reply:-

"TPI’s are for internal use only.  Even if this did exist dealers are not permitted to discuss outside the dealer network."

Have you expected any other answer on your e-mail asking your dealer about "Last leaked Skoda internal Technical Product Information" ??? Foolish expectation ...

This is just to be asked in person only, do not expect you get any answer per e-mail or post with the name of the dealer or even the person who provide this information ...

I understand photo from Xtra2 is not the best one, still readable though, so if you look at it, you can not have any objection against it in the way that TPI 2050744/6 from 12.12.2018 does not exists ...

You can check here for 8,50€ / 1 hour  as already Wino proposed, TPI is available for all, who spends a bit money and have VIN of any VAG car

and you can confront your friendly dealer then with the official TPI you got for your money

Just purchased a 1.5 litre petrol Karoq, having relied on best buy guides.  A pity they and we hadn't read this forum.

The engine loses power unexpectedly.  This has happened several times, including pulling away from a junction, turning into a junction and going around a roundabout.  It has happened with the engine cold and warm and in various gears including at least 1st and 3rd.  This is a serious risk as three times the car was unable to complete a manoeuvre across a line of traffic and blocked the traffic flow.  Fortunately, on each occasion the oncoming traffic was able to stop or go around the vehicle in time. But on other occasions this could cause a serious accident.

After 39 miles of driving we have rejected the car, had it recovered back to the dealer through the Skoda recovery service and asked for a full refund as it is within 30 days of purchase. No response yet,,,,

The sad thing it could be one already previously rejected!!!

It was dealer new - 5 miles on the clock, now 44.  We've reported the issue to the DVSA as well, as should all who have the same problem.

I presume it was the manual version based upon gears comments? Hope you get your money back (should do as straight forward reject).

This car could then be sold on, crap....

Yes it was the manual. They are in notice that it is dangerous so shouldn’t sell on.

It's a faff having to go through the process but you did the right thing, reject it from the onset.

Did you 'test-drive' it before purchase, was there any indication that all was not well then?

A few years ago I rejected a brand new Ford Fiesta within 1 hour of handing the monies over, dealer was none too happy, promised me the world if I'd give 'em chance to sort it, I was having none of it - money back in my hand before I'd leave the place - awkward for them as it had been fitted with a set of dual-controls.

Good luck with the rejection Musical Electric. Stick to your guns. A new car should not ever behave like this and VAG know it.

Took the wife's Karoq out today in the beautiful February sunshine car behaved faultlessly for a change. Reminded me what a comfortable, quiet and economic judging by the photo below.

Perhaps after you get a full refund you could post the registration on this section to warn possible customers to avoid this lemon. Would be unkind for lightning to strike twice.:wall:

I view every 'low-mileage one owner' manual box Karoq's as rejects.....it's a wonder the dealers can shift 'em!

Our local dealer has mainly 1.0Tsi or 1.6Tdi used Karoq's for sale. They would probably jump (joke) at the chance to buy back our 13 month old SEL with 12,996 miles under it's tyres now.:giggle:

Sales Executives are now in a very difficult position where they know a customer has been in danger, and they will be if they drive the cars and if they then punt them to An-Other punter.

The DVSA must have knowledge by now of this as do the VW Management in the UK and Europe, Skoda, Seat, Audi as well.

Squeaky bum moments surely for 'Employees' of VW if there was to be a fatality or life changing injuries with someone driving a rejected car.

They might need to purchase soap on a rope...

Didn’t test drive this actual vehicle. Did test drive another but the salesman warmed it up and took it to the flat before I took over and started out.....

Has anyone affected by this had the temerity to inform their insurance company. It might be risky if you are still driving the vehicle but those of you who have rejected it or have been offered a courtesy car might consider it as a way to apply pressure on Skoda UK. Any thoughts?
