The climate control mechanism started making noise. I removed the top cover of the speaker, made a tool from a cheap endoscope and a Cilict Bang tube, lubricated the white mechanisms with silicone grease. Now the noise is gone.

I just used the short flexy tube that came with the silicon grease and inserted it though the air vent grill and blasted it into the ductwork hoping that it would work its way down to the flaps, it didn't work too well for me, so I'm keen to see how you get on.

😎You took the pollen filter out first, yes?😎

No, I dont seem able to take it out, I have dropped the glove box, I can see the filter but how to remove it. I assumed that the filter was in the feed to the system?

Not that I've had cause for many years but I’d have thought the pollen filter would catch any lubricants you spray into the inlet portal?

The distribution flaps are all, I’d have thought, after the pollutants have been filtered out?

Then again I might have it all wrong………

That is my belief as well, hence why I poked the tube into each of the outlet vents and gave 6 or 7 good sprays of silicon in each of them without much success.

Ah, I see now, I misunderstood, I wrongly assumed you were spraying via the outside air intake……….apologies. 🫢

No problem.

Put grease on white mechanism. You can reach it through left or center hole, in case you have a speaker you can remove it(left speaker mounted by 2 screws, center speaker by 4 screws).
Once you reach white mechanism, hold tube and spray silicon into the tube, then change flow direction and spray again. Do it few times.

I uploaded video how it works

Where is this located? Is it under the centre speakers on the top of the dash?

Wow, thanks for the info, but I say screw that, I'm too old for those fun and games.

Well, I hope he wasn't hinting at removing the dashboard ... 🤪

I also would not want to do that! But the idea of squirting down there through the speaker hole might be sufficient ...

I may be wrong, hopefully someone will correct me if I am, but I that is tucked away behind the infotainment screen given the instrument cluster location, the foot pedals can be seen in the lower left and the small hose for the cooled glovebox on the right all shown in the photo?

Picked up the BRB (big red bus) after its 8th annual service and M.O.T. Managed to lightly scrape the near side wing mirror on the brick wall that lines the incredibly narrow alley to the garage. Will have to remind myself to retract the mirrors next year.

Passed M.O.T. no problem. Advisory says light rust on brake discs, but pads good. The rust is explained by the fact that I did 1,182 miles since the last M.O.T. plus I only had to drive 200 yards from my parking spot to the garage. Sure beats having to take two trains to get to the Croydon Škoda dealership for a service. No cheaper, though.

Ready for another year of problem-free motoring. Must use the car more...

Was it making noise when you just start the car and trying to heat or cool the car. Generally for me it makes noise at the start then doesn't make it. If it is, I will give a try as well. Also what oil you use to lubricate it?

Yes, try to change flow directions and probably you will hear noise.

I read few topics and for plastic gears it’s better to use silicone. So I used silicone spray.

On these cool days, mine does it on start up also - another job to add to the list! 😉

Replaced my faulty haldex pump today. Could have probably gotten away with just cleaning the filter, but since i made it this far and was prepared for the worst..

With the number of images of blocked Haldex pump filter screens posted, I cannot credit that dealers still claim that the service schedule does not require the screen to be cleaned!

As we say in France: "There is no one so deaf as someone who will not hear". 🙄

Anyone happen to go to the dealer with the proof they're doing a **** job? What happened?

Not quite what you asked but at my last service at the independent VAG specialist I use the Haldex was due for an oil change so I specifically asked whether they will be cleaning the Haldex filter when they changed the oil.

They said they always do because they've seen what happens if the filter gets fully clogged up & left for too long.

Now, whether they actually did clean the filter is another matter!

TBF I've been using the same company for many years with my old Audi A6 TDi, MK2 Superb CR170, my wife's Karoq 4 x 4 for the short time we had it & now my MK3 Superb & they've done a good job with all of them so I have no reason to doubt them.

Seemingly, the operative word being Independent - I don't recall any postings where enfranchised Skoda service centres do this.

It prevents closure if key is too close and also puts car on guard. So you don't need close car from remote or touch kessy handle after lid closed.

@zacko_O is this plug and play or is coding needed? Any pictures of how you fixed inside the tailgate?
