Reassurance please! The satnav in my 2018 Octavia 3 hasn’t ever been updated. I have added a screen shot of an eBay listing below for a replacement card. I have checked, and the part number of my unit is on the list quoted in the eBay listing, so it looks ok, I think. I understand not to buy a cheaply, but to get a Skoda version.

So, does this look OK? (no repercussions on any advice given, I assure you!) And if so, is it simply a case of old card out, new one in?

Thanks in advance

Malcolm

Why should you pay for something you can get free? Just check your VIN on Skoda Update Portal, download required maps (pay attention to the size of your Skoda SD) and unpack them to SD (make sure folder "maps" is located directly on SD, not in any other folder).

Dear @pab567,

I’d like to update my 2017 Octavia I just bought, as I am aware the latest software is 0480, my current is:

Hardware: H41

Software : 0456

Device part number: 5Q0035864C

Train: MST2_EU_SK_ZR_PO456T

I would appreciate your help, my software seems to be old+sometimes airplay drops connection

Are some detailed instructions available how to perform the update? Don’t want to brick the unit, I love this car

Thank you in advance!

Hello pab567!

Have just bought a 2017 Yeti with the following firmware.

Is there anything to update?

Also, not got Smartlink on the options - is is possible it's not even capable or just needs activation.

Thanks so much for what you do here.

All the best

Jon

Thank you for the quick response!

Is there any way to tell from my pics if my 2018 karoq head unit has an update? I managed to update maps on the sd card but wondered if the firmware has an update? Cheers.

Just follow up to my own post. Found my version. Is MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0472T

I think from looking at mib helper I can update to P0480T

Is this relatively safe to do? Seen a few posts that say a fault code sits on the system for the infotainment and might need vcds or similar to fix?

Hello,

Can I update from MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0369T to MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T?

I have Skoda Octavia 2017 model , facelift.

Thank you very much!

@AlexeM I can do it for you.

Nope, you are already on the latest firmware available.

It is capable of SmartLink and you can do it by yourself with MIB STD2 Toolbox.

Yes, you can, but in every case unit requires patching of swdownload first - if you have AMundsen then you can do it from SD card with MIB STD2 Toolbox, if you have Bolero then unfortunately glove box unit must be disassembled and soldered.
