See my comments above.  Considering the similarities between the models, can anyone comment on why they are listed for one and not the other?  Can anyone also comment on any issues that would arise if I fitted the superb specified springs to my passat.  

Further confusion arises when you look up the kit number on the eibach website.  The individual springs are listed for cars that are not on the lists for the kits.  confusion!!!

 

Finally, assuming the cross compatibility with the eibach springs, could I fit superb sportline springs to my passat and does anyone have any going spare after fitting lowering springs to their sportline estate 280/272?

I was not able to find specs for the rear springs. @Carlston or someone else do you know more about them? 

 

Also I couldn't find aftermarket versions of the rear Sportline springs. My local dealership wants 390€ for the set (front and rear) which is more than H&R and Eibach sets.

Just to mix up things...I took a look at the Eibach online catalog to see what options it suggests for the estate with different engine options.

For the rear it is always F11-79-008-01-HA. It does not matter if it's FWD or AWD, from 1.4 petrol 2.0 diesel engines. Maybe an issue with the online catalog

I wouldn't call 5Q0411105HB the Sportline counterpart of 5Q0511105GK.

 

5Q0511105HB has a narrower wire diameter than 5Q0411105GK and a similar number of coil turns, so would appear to be a softer spring. Losing 27mm in length requires a stiffer spring not a softer spring.

 

I can't find any aftermarket springs for 3Q0511115AA. This is often the case for sports springs, as most of the sales for aftermarket springs will be for standard ride height springs.

Narrower diameter is odd.

 

I went to see my local Skoda dealership late last week. We checked from one MY2018 Superb Combi 1.4 TSI Sportline what spring configuration it has. Results were 5Q0411105HB on front and 3Q0511115AA on rear.

 

Could someone with Sportline trim check what oem springs (part numbers) they have? This would help to verify what springs to get.

hi - not related to suspension, do you not find the 1400cc engine underpowered for the Superb? i used to have a 1.6 passat and it was really underpowered. but maybe this is a better engine?

Hi @jim_d, they say you can never have too much power

To answer you question, our Superb is a daily driver for my wife and our kids. Mostly driven short distances on the city. In this use 1.4 is sufficient, but if we would use it regularly for longer distances I would look for something with more power.

Can Eibach springs be fitted with PPD shock absorbers?  My car came with the bad roads suspension  and you know how uncomfortable it is, especially on Spanish roads.  Do you know the reference for a MK3 2016 190cv TDI 4x4 Kombi?  Thank you very much in advance.I have seen the references in the post. sorry. Would it be necessary to put the rubber pads of the Audi TT on the rear springs?

The Eibach shop advertises E10 79 012 04 22 as lowering springs. Is this because it lowers all models that aren't sportline?

I want to stiffen my 280 sportline combi without lowering it, so am i looking at the right springs? Thanks

on front axle Eibach Pro springs from Audi Q2 will give perfect stiffness with zero lowering.

 

for rear axle you have to find some stronger alternative as i found for my 220ps FWD hatch,

i installed Eibach Pro springs from AWD Superb and got perfect stiffness with just 12mm lowering

The Superb has 4 flavours when it comes to suspension setup

1. Standard setup. Standard shocks + standard springs

2. Sportline setup. Standard shocks + sport springs

3. Adaptive setup. DCC shocks + springs.

4. Sportline Adaptive setup. DCC shocks + sport springs

 

The DCC shocks r 15mm lower than standard.

The Sportline Setup is also 15mm lower.

It's is still unclear how much lower the Sportline Adaptive setup is from Standard.

I measured my car against yours in another thread. The distance from the road to wheel arch was the same at the front.

 

So a Sportsline with selectable dampening is the same ride height as your car with the lower springs.

And ur running the factory 19" Vega wheels?

 

I know of others with Sportline, DCC and 19" Vega, who have measured 690mm, which is wat mine was also, before being lowered.

No it's 690. I thought your lowered was 690mm as I understand the sports line is lower than standard.

And for what it's worth, in relation to the original question, ride height has nothing to do with spring stiffness.

 

A spring can give a lower ride height and be softer.

 

Which is why the tuning market is BS. The never specify stiffness. They do come in a variety of colours.

It's the factory 19s, with the same specs, and tyres - so we're comparing apples with apples.

Thought so.  Mine is sitting at 668mm now, after being lowered.

 

No, the Sportline with DCC and a non-Sportline with DCC, like mine, is the same height, i.e. 690mm, from factory, with the 19s.

Anything DCC is lower than Standard.

Likewise, Sportline without DCC is also lower than Standard.

 

Standard means no adaptive (DCC) suspension.

It applies to other briskoda members who still have factory 19s.

Most of the Superb Sportlines come with the same spec 19" wheels.  Doesn't matter if they're the Vega or Supernova or Trinity version - they all have the same width, same offset, wearing the same tyre profile (235/40/19).

To add to the confusion, my front springs have a yellow and brown sticker on them. There’s no other markings on them. I wAs hoping for a part number stamped on them, but no, nothing. The rear springs have no markings on them whatsoever. ****ed off is an understatement.

Hi guys

 

I want to change shock absorbers and springs on mine. I passed 6 years of age and 280.xxxkm and still have the originals on as I know (I got the car when it was 3 years old).

 

I will install Koni Actives.

 

I asked some others if the original springs needed to be changed or not? (No damages or corrosion) but I guess I will anyway...

 

I checked autodoc, eibach homepage and tried to search but as I can see almost all the pro kits will lower the car, I would like to avoid that... Anyone who is already went through the process and could helpe out to chose the right ones? No DCC in mine...
