i would put this event higher than all the low level ****e ive had to deal with this week. Shes sore but okay. bikes and cars despite how attached we can get to them are replaceable and mendable machines.

 

 

i didnt add it to my rant this morning, but on top of all the rot this this week, missus macs eldest sister also had surgery in Wednesday for the pink ribbon form of the big C after a diagnosis before christmas.

Shes recovering well, but still very sore and tired and medicated. and now has the likely follow treatment plans of radio and chemo to get prepped for.

its been an awful stressful few weeks though, as their other sister has been through the same mill twice! (the 3 ladies are on enhanced screening programmes as a result of the family history).

 

good news to balance some of this though, their brother's wife is due the arrival of their 1st baby probably within the next 10days tops! if its another boy it will be grandson 7 on missus mac's side, with no grandaughters.. if its a girl, i cant comprehend just how spoilt she'll be

Went into hospital a few days ago, had a massive brain haemorrhage, and didn't come out.  There's something okay-ish about the older generation moving on, but when your own generation start going unexpectedly, one gets a much sharper focus on life and mortality.

I found myself talking to the dog yesterday, following a relatively OK check-up at the vets. "We can't take our health for granted, little pal."

One of our rabbits, Wispa, died earlier today.  Was fine yesterday morning but wouldn't come in for his pellets yesterday tea time which was very unusual.

 

No pellets eaten and no poo a couple of hours later so I started with the usual pain killers and regular syringe feeding every couple of hours as I know that can be fatal fairly quickly.

 

Took him to the vets this morning for more meds but no joy...   He was going downhill.  Checked on him after tea and then 10 mins later when I checked again he'd passed away...   Still warm.

 

Absolutely gutted...   Never thought I'd be so upset but he was part of the family for many years.

Sad just watching the apparently deaf dumb and blind highly paid senior people that were heading the Post Office or Royal Mail or department or divisions of them

Anyone that now employ them maybe need to consider are they fit for purpose in any position they hold.

 

I do hope that come time some might face investigation into any criminality eventually from within the management.

And all these executives simply move from one high paid job to the next even-higher paid role. Adam Crozier was at Saatchi & Saatchi, the FA (how appropriate) Royal Mail, Whitbread and presently head of BT Group. Paula Vennells worked her way through the Post Office to become CEO and made such a fine job of it was appointed as a non-exec board member of the Cabinet Office. Having left the PO she then became chair of Imperial College Healthcare but resigned a short while later. And having trained for holy orders and been ordained she was in the final three shortlisted to become Bishop of London 😱
Do any of the headhunters that recommend these people never look at what they’ve left in their wake or simply offer them up for a new role and await their commission.

Same the world over...   They get promoted to the point of incompetence then move on before the trail of destruction they leave behind gets noticed...   Whilst the rest of the good ones who know what they are doing get overlooked and kept out of senior positions in case they identify the incompetence of the people above them.

Oh dear - that's not good - all that upheaval / stress etc...   that's the last thing you need!

 

Presumably the message included the info that you'll not be able to continue to rent it off any new owner?

Early days, no details known yet, need to find a friendly IFA or mortgage advisor and see what's feasible. 

Age and recent health challenges won't help.
