Removing car seats

Featured Replies

Hello

I removed my seats today from my fabia today unfortunately i had to take out some worn off torx M8 1.25 out with a drill. Unfortunately now I can’t get new bolts in as its like hole is too big for them have i forgotten anything.

thank you

Well it sounds like you've damaged the holes by drilling the bolts out, no?

If the holes are not damaged make sure you've got the right bolts. Part number N 90892101

They aren't Torx (6-point) , they are XZN/triple square (12-point) heads.

M10 size XZN bit required, despite the thread size being M8.

See here for how to find out by measurement what size XZN bit you need for any XZN bolt head you might come across on these cars: triplesquaretable.pdf

What size drill did you use?

Not sure i’ll have to check what ive used. Would it be simple of threading existing hole and use bigger bolt.

Sounds like one of the only solutions TBH if you've drilled the existing threads right out.

Maybe get some help with it from someone experienced in such repairs?

Available space for the bolt head and tool to fit it may be an issue.

Ive managed to get a thread back on the hole and found bigger size bolt to fit. Ive cut centre top of the bolt as i can than fit flathead on it problem solved. But where can i find normal size bolt? Ive checked www.skoda-parts.com and there charging £21 plus customs to deliver? Is there anywhere else sell them?
