  2. Hi domhnall, a really interesting video, thanks. It looks as if some instruction will be needed to work out how to use all the driving modes..!

  4. Cost, no doubt. When I was looking for a replacement, there was only 1 on ebay in the UK and that was half as rusty as mine! With the lack of them, could this be a bigger issue, or am I just unlucky?
  5. Will a full size spare eg this one : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/168359344547 completely fit in the under-boot recess? Also,I have not been able to find a full size spare complete with tool kit - any ideas apart from Wheel Shop who do not stock it, or Skoda who charge silly money.
  6. Same thing here, dealer has been promising an update for the past year already, which has not come yet. The jolt happens precisely a minute after the start. The scariest thing is that if you happen to be applying brake during this, it will release it, noticeably slipping them. On the side note, it seems that the VW plug-ins have the same issue as a friend of mine has the same issue on his VW. Edit: Just noticed that I had posted about this few comments above :) Yes, they actually swapped the gearbox back then, which made no change.
  7. Glad you replaced it and rest of car is sound. Have had random bits on my octavia that seem to rust more than the rest of car. Wonder if its been a bad paint job at factory. Had one sill really bad but other good and a large patch on lower drivers door where as rest were ok. Once it starts you can hold it back for a while but it always comes back usually with a vengeance. Why they just dont galvanize these parts??? Alasdair

I can offer you post 1 for Seat which is the same where I have distilled what's said here. Use the link you are using, not the old link in post 1, but it does tell you how to give it a poke to start it off, gleened from you good Skods folk. From a Skoda Mib3 user "Step 6: on the Navigation screen, on the bottom row, press "Settings" > “Version Info“ > "Update (SD/USB)“... the car engine does not need to be running, and if the ignition shuts off before the update finishes, just press the engine ‘start’ button once and repeat the above procedure from Step 6. The Update Progress Bar will resume where it left off so you don’t have to start updating from scratch.... When complete the YY.MM will change. Photograph before and after." This is where the usb with led light come in since they flicker when data is being copied. Skoda folk like them. You arent thinking its not working when it is and the reverse. https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/updating-the-inbuilt-mib3-mib-4-satnav-offline.472408/ The manual pdfs I put in post 1. Getting the files in the route unzipped and a blank USB in exfat is the key. Pesky Macs leaving dross on the drive is another issue. But as said there are a few people where technical issues have prevented the map update working. Details on those Briskoda map posts. If its a car not in the region where it hadnt been sold, then you need a retrofitter. Turkey and the Middle East and Africa are candidates for that one.
  9. Aargh, got 5 more images , I cant upload them. Basically, I cut out the aperture in the RH side so it matched the LH side, the airbox was already modded - R600 pikey mod. I bought these vent guide things which are meant for the Golf GTI, and mounted them the other way up to guide air into the airbox
  10. Today
  11. Not coastal, West Midlands actually. Previous owner was Peterborough. I've had it 5 years now. I did a bit more than that RH opening. Forgive the one photo, I did tidy it properly afterwards! Let me see if I can post them, I'm hitting some sort of forum limit
  12. Did you take the opportunity to have this bit cut open to aid induction airflow? On topic - yeah that did look rusty - how old is the car and are you coastal? Or was the previous owner coastal do you know?
  13. I replaced it with a vgc used one. The way the rust was peeling off, it couldn't have had it's original rigidity in it, quite scary. Rest of car is absolutely fine.
  14. English; Hi everyone! How can I turn off the center display in a 2026 Superb while keeping the radio or media playing? Thanks for the help. @Firefighter0718 Szia! 15. Sziasztok! 2026 superb-nél a középső kijelzőt hogy lehet kikapcsolni, hogy közben tovább szóljon a rádió vagy a média? köszönöm a segítséget.
  16. That looks pretty bad. Is the underside of car the same or is it just the bar. If its bolt on I would be inclined to get it shotblasted and paint with galvafroid or similar and a good few top coats or just replace it. Seen a few on ebay that are in better condition and not that expensive. Alasdair
  17. Top news, well done.
  18. Hi I've been keeping my eye on this post now and again. Has anyone ACTUALLY got the download link for the MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T?? Cheers Dale
  19. Hi all, I've just had some work done on my 2017 Sportline 280 4x4 - waterpump, thermostat, aux belts, do88 intercooler, new horns. I was gutted and worried when I saw the state of my crashbar, you could literally peel the rust off in places Has anyone else had theirs as rusty? Cheers
  20. Hi! For your 2024 Skoda Octavia Mk4.5 facelift 1.5 TSI, the correct rear brake pads depend on the brake system fitted to your car. You could consider Ridex as a budget-friendly option, but I’d recommend checking compatibility by VIN or brake PR code before ordering, as there can be different brake setups.Hope this helps!

  24. Alasdair1 started following MOT success again
  25. Just got my sons MK1 1.2htp through another MOT. Did front swing arms and console bushes. plus a few other ball joints while I was at it. Only advisories this year are front nearside tyre worn on edge and a slightly loose wing mirror glass. Not bad for a twenty year old car. Tyre is worn probably due to front bushes being shot plus had a slow puncture so may have been run soft. Will get alignment checked and maybe a new tyre. Very happy plus so is my son. He even got me a nice bottle of single malt as a thankyou. Thanks to Pete for advice on console bolts etc. Alasdair
  26. I formatted the 2 pen drive in the two different ways (exfat & ntfs) just in case; dunno why none of the format worked out! I also thought I didn't have to put ALL the extracted folders in the root but it didn't work too! I unzipped with 7zip and Winzip but the result didn't change! I tried everytime with exfat pen one day and another with ntfs but nothing!
  27. Tell replied to RodDuggan's topic in Skoda Karoq
Exfat is the one you should be using and only just put one stick in. It may work with ntfs but exfat is the standard designed for. @MartiniB did have issues at one point, so too another. Those are on the map threads. I seem to recall they rolled back the map updates but you need to check. Early Cupra firmware had an issue I know that. Built in windows 11 unzip is the one to use. Drag and drop out the set of files into the route directory. There should be no other files on the blank drive. Don't use a mac, if you do use cleanmydrive or similar. Dusts of the mac junk.
  28. I solved the problem and now everything works; what I don't understand is why system, everytime I start the car, asks me to migrate to 334 (I actually have the 330), 334 which I heard is not still very stable as the 330. Is there a way to disable this popup? @Cairus or @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits : can You help me?
  29. I tried here in Rome (Italy) and it worked fine!
  30. I formatted a pendrive as EXFAT and another as NTFS; copied the folders directly in the root and connected (one at once) on front LEFT usbc port to update the mpas with the maps latest version (26.6) and leave the pen inserted for one day each but maps do not update! How can I do?
