  2. You're not imagining it, they're poor on the Kamiq. First thing worth checking is whether yours lights up on both sides when you select reverse. On a lot of these the reversing lamp is only on one side and the other side is the rear fog, so you're working with one 16W bulb. Options people have tried: 1. LED bulb in place of the standard one. It's a W16W wedge bulb (the Skoda part is N10591501). A decent LED is a big improvement, but cheap "CANBUS error free" ones often still throw a "check reversing lights" message because the car sees the low current draw. There's a thread on here (Change reversing light bulbs to LEDs, Kamiq section) where owners got round it either with better quality bulbs or by coding that bulb as LED with OBDeleven or Carista. 2. Make sure whatever you fit is plain white and properly seated. Reversing lamps are part of the MOT on anything first used from September 2009, and one that's not working or showing the wrong colour is a major fail. 3. If it's really the drive that's the problem rather than the light, rear parking sensors or a camera might be the better spend, as even a good LED only lights a short way behind. I'd try one decent LED first and see if it's enough before going further.
  3. Switching on the rear fog light will probably help. Modern reversing light theory appears to be biased more towards being just an indicator to other drivers.

  5. Couldn’t see / smell anything under the bonnet. Did have a look. Fuel cap area is the strongest smell
  6. That is quite possible - but see also my other post.
  7. Critical! If TSI, check the front of engine beneath inlet manifold for any sign of fuel leakage.

  9. Now that it gets dark earlier, I've discovered how shockingly bad the reversing light is on my wife's Kamiq, Reversing down my narrow drive is tricky in the dark, especially when it's raining and I had to keep tapping the brake to see where I was going. Has anyone found a solution or way to improve things?

  11. You just need a brave pill, you're just prising two plastic pieces apart & they're not brittle. Maybe resort to a screwdriver for the first time, as it will give you more leverage to push the cover up. This is a rough sketch of how the cover sits on the fob. So you need to exert enough force for the "claw" on the cover to snap past the lip they sit on. The "catch" referenced by @NottsIan is a bit of a misnomer IMO. What that method does is push the edge of the cover away, so that the leading edge of the "claw" can be eased over the lip. Kind of a "starter for 10", but the rest of the edge still needs to be snapped free. But worth a try if you're still struggling. As I've said a couple of times now, the first time is the hardest & will require the most force. Once it's popped that first time, subsequent opening will be easier.
  12. Is it manual or electric. On my sons mk1 its manual and his is loose. Mirror glass keeps dropping after a while. If its manual it could be that the cables have seized or come loose and kinked. Not sure if they are repairable but worth removing and checking it out. I reckon cheapest option if its damaged would be a second hand one off ebay or scrap yard. Alasdair

  14. Alvin600 I now see that I got the car ownership back to front ! I did look beforehand at your respective forum Profiles, and yours says that you own a 2025 Monte Carlo (hence 1.5litre motor and DSG transmission) while BACUPIAN's Profile says "2026 FABIA DESIGN EDITION 1.5 TSI AUTOMATIC - FULL WINTER PACK,SPARE WHEEL,MUDFLAPS, F&R DASHCAMS". I thought that the shutter-unit might be fitted to all Fabia Mk4 models with the 1.5litre motor and not to versions with the 1.0litre motor (my own car has the 1.0litre motor + DSG transmission and no shutters) but that's plainly not the case. Very mysterious... I have enquired (twice) about this shutter thing on the Skoda Fabia Owners Club Facebook group, but - although I have no difficulty replying to existing threads there - when I create a brand-new thread it gets passed to a moderator for approval and then never appears.
  15. Thanks Micky, useful to know it settled down for you. Did anything change in that time, such as a software update at a service, or a dealer re-seating a door connector? Patchy at first then fine later makes me think of a marginal handle sensor or antenna connection, or a software fix. For Soko1982 and trupus, it might be worth asking a garage to check the driver's door handle sensor connector, and the wiring through the door hinge loom, for water or a broken wire.
  16. Same, mines also the 1.5 with DSG on a 75 plate.
  17. If it won't open you're doing it wrong, or you have a different key style.

  19. Should be fine to go from 270. Click on the link at the bottom of my 3rd reply in this thread to get the software, then follow the process in my 2nd reply. Download, unzip files to root if a USB-C card. Download and update them one at a time. Let us know if you have any issues.
  20. When my car was new in 2024 kessy on the drivers side was patchy. But the last 1.5 years it has been working flawlessly.
  21. Thank you so much. That was really helpful. I bought a Bosch replacement (the original was Bosch) but the new one is a bit smaller. Apparently Bosch has changed the design of the pump! It was good to know I was looking in the right place. The difference in size means the clamp doesn't hold it in place any more. No problem. The pipes hold it in place. The fault code is now cleared and all seems to be well.
  22. Just noticed Hoping it was a simple Fix But I’m not sure Was in 3rd Half throttle and around 2.5k revs to 3k wasn’t smooth increase So think there’s more to it
  23. That is possible too.. (response on other thread)
  24. The sharp edge of the internal metal flap can drop into one of the notches or ridges on the underside of the nozzle when filling up,someone pushing and pulling the pump nozzle to get it out could displace the pipe from the seal over time
  25. Hi all, sorry to open this up again, and thanks for making these files available. Is there a way I can confirm if the files are suitable for my mk 3 superb? Screenshot below. Also on a slightly related topic, does anyone know if a firmware update will make YouTube available on Android auto? I hear it's being rolled out but I'm not sure if it's more to do with the phone app getting an update, or maybe my 2021 superb will never get it? Thanks John

  27. Did think that But now wondering if it was the fuel cap not sealed properly due to the rubber part being up the filler neck
  28. If the previous owner had consistently overfilled the tank they could have broken the evap system The EVAP system is strictly designed to handle fuel vapors. When the driver frequently clicks the pump to pack in extra fuel, liquid petrol flows directly down the vapor lines and floods the canister.
  29. Check your PMs and remember to add @ before nick to ping someone e.g. @Cfleetwood @Miso3000

  32. Mine looked like this I’ve pushed it down Hoping it was that which was causing my smell But what causes it to ride up?
