Polish doesn’t fill in lost material. Some polishing products have fillers which will do that although that’s more the LSP/protection product for paint/clearcoat. Polish removes material - you’re levelling down the surface to the lost point (ie the lowest part of a scratch). You can get glass polishing products which will abrade glass. Glass is extremely tough (you can clean it was the finest grade steel wool as a last resort) so you need something with Cerium Oxide in and a Rayon pad. Carpro Ceriglass is one of the most well known. However. I absolutely wouldn’t. You need the outer layer of the windscreen to be flat and level. Unless very skilled and rigorous you are likely to leave the surface slightly uneven which can lead to issues with the wipers not sweeping properly.

1.5 tsi coolant loss after change
firstly:- I agree with Evolution13 : many vehicles do not maintain coolant level at Max but will settle to a lower level after some use - so long as the level remains above Min it's not worth worrying about. secondly:- the pump shown in your photo has definitely been leaking, though not a great deal, and could account for gradual coolant loss. Have you replaced or fixed this? Are you still losing coolant ?

Need intermediate firmware links for Octavia Mk4 (MEN3_EU_SK38X_P0393L to P3265L)
Hello everyone, I have a June 2021 Skoda Octavia Mk4 (A8) equipped with the 8.25-inch MIB3 Swing/Bolero infotainment unit. My current software train version is: MEN3_EU_SK38X_P0393L (MU 1315). As you know, this early version is unstable. I managed to find the final target firmware MEN3_EU_SK38X_P3265L (MU 1805), but I know that updating directly from P0393L to P3265L is extremely dangerous and can brick the unit. To safely perform the step-by-step update path, I urgently need the intermediate firmware versions: - MEN3_EU_SK38X_P1560L (MU 1560) - MEN3_EU_SK38X_P2340L (MU 1790) Could anyone please share valid download links (Mega, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.) for these files? Thank you very much in advance for your help!

@travs any ideas? I know you can get products than fill in the surface after a polish, but not that much can be done, really.

SuperSkoda Shipping
Never had any issues. I've ordered from them a few times over the last few years - most recent was £200 worth of badges in April or so. Zero complaints. Communication can be a bit iffy sometimes (you'll speak to Magdalena) but they're a good company.

1.5 tsi coolant loss after change
Is there still pressure present if you open the header tank cap say a hour or two or longer after engine shut off?.

New headlight cannot adjust the dipped up enough
The motor on the headlight moves up and down as I change the dash level setting to - or 3. Max to min. Yes the white 6mm hex/allen key fitting (is the only adjustment available for the dipped beam) The dipped beam was far too low and I just can not lift the beam up enough with the adjuster The headlamp is nicely seated back in the body and with even gaps around it to the body work and it looks to be the same as the other side so it is sat correctly Can’t see what I can do , I don’t want to force the adjuster as soon as I felt resistance I stopped But it’s far to low to start with Checked bulb seated correctly too bought it mail order from a skoda dealer I don’t see what I can do other than return it as defective

Dog hair & Cowboys - new boot trims
Believe it or not When I got the car The backs of the seats where fine The reason the hair is showing Is because he’s used the tool And it’s bringing up the hair and paint It’s chewed through 3 of his tools It’s that thick with paint and dog hair 🙃

Dog hair & Cowboys - new boot trims
The last pic you can get pretty straightforward pet hair removal tools to get rid of. They’re basically very soft rubber that as you rub back and forth they collect the hair. It’s not easy as the stuff weaves itself into the carpet loops but it gets there eventually.

Rear DRLs?
You can program the car to have 'Scandinavian DRL' on. This will turn your front DRL, rear side and number plate lights on when the ignition is turned on. I did this to one of my cars using OBDEleven. HTH. Thanks. AG Falco

Is this the white 6mm hex/allen key fitting? What about the in car headlight aim adjustment wheel? Projector type headlamp assembly. Thanks. AG Falco

Crank but no start 2.0TDi
Issue has finally been resolved, Cylinder 3 injector had failed and was leaking fuel back to the pump. Now I probably need to replace the other 3 at a cost of nearly €300 an injector for the part alone.

Rear DRLs?
For safety’s sake, i would like to add rear DRLs - i think they should be standard, like on my previous car, a Volvo. There are suitable vertical surfaces on the rear bumper below the reflector to fit separate lamps, but i’m wondering about how best to do the wiring. Does anyone know if there’s an ignition controlled circuit in or near the boot to tap into? If there isn’t, where would be the best place? Thanks in advance

Skoda Karoq Build Label Location(s)
Hi. I'm looking at Karoqs around 3 years old and interested in seeing the PR codes before I choose. I'm pretty certain that a car around that age wil not have a service book with the build sticker attached, is there still a sticker under the boot floor cover? If so, could someone give me an idea where to look. I had a quick look in a car a few weeks ago and couldn't see one but didn't have much chance to search (it was pouring down). I'm looking for a car without SFD2 which I understand was introduced in builds late March 24 onwards. Cheers Andy

2nd year service coming up, what should I look out for? Not driven it much
I buy oil and filters then take my car to a nearby garage (5 minute stroll) to simply change the oil and reset the service light. Brake fluid, pads and discs when the time comes. Changing air and pollen filters takes 5 minutes. And online filters cost peanuts compared with a dealer. All products are the Real Deal. Saves a fortune.
