Any sort of emergency vehicle is floored from the moment it is started, be it in summer or winter, left idling for hours and, as has been said, likely to have been messed with. No ex-emergency car is a 'good' buy, compared to anything else. Yes, they have been serviced properly and maintained, but they have had hard lives. That being said, is the 2010 car a TDI or TSI? I'd take the 2019 car any day over a TDI that has done 6k miles a year. On paper, at least, a 2019 car on 46k miles is very attractive. Just to update I competed the repair ok, bit of a faff! Managed not to drop any of the airbag bolts which was a relief! New Febi part arrived, £15 on amazon. Very awkward to get it to lock into place but it eventually went back in ok. All 4 speeds now working!! Reassembly was fine-tune couldn't get all of the kitchen paper towel I stuffed into the holes below the airbag screw back out but I figured it wouldn't do any harm and so left it be

Hi everyone,newbie here so treat me gently as I am not used to forums so I hope I wo7offend you guys, I have a 2022 karoq sport line tsi 190 which I find to be a fabulous car . I have only recently started to drive the car after many months of illness. When I purchased the car there was a specific main beam pattern when you pushed the stalk away the beam seemed to project centrally then spread out to the sides but it doesn't seem to do that now, Do you know if that is a problem and is there a reset I can do? I’d like to add my weight (and perhaps confusion) to this thread as my 21 month old Kodiaq SE L 7 ( Not DCC) has had this same noise since 3 months old. Dealer has replaced the steering rack twice already and now proposes a third. Each time it does quieten the noise but only for a couple of weeks. Surely it’s when the subframe is lowered to replace the rack it changes something to give the temporary respite.

Ahh, thanks for the information Alasdair. It makes sense to disable these functions with a trailer connected. Actually I found a diagram from a trailer manufacturer, and it seems as the standard specifies that pin 12 and 13 is interconnected in the trailer, to indicate that a trailer is connected to the car. This might actually be used in conjunction with a switching relay (NO to NC) to disable these functions. I will do some tests and report back. Thanks again.

I’m thinking of installing some LED auxiliary lights behind the grill to aid the current LED lights in my 2026 Octavia as I live in a very rural location in the Scottish Highlands and very dark roads Before I go ahead making brackets etc and wiring them up does anyone know if I tap into the high beam wire to use as a switching wire for the relay with it throw up and fault codes on the dash? Modern cars are so sensitive to current changes etc I wanted to check first. Cheers. Martin

The app mystery is solved... my wife is the Primary User, and her MySkoda App does have the "Paid services", but I as a guest user don't. However Traffication is listed in red as "Expired February 2026" with an option to resubscribe for £4.50. The next check will be to see if the App screen has more on it if I open the car with her key and make sure she is the active user... best, M.

Sure. Unfortunately, I don't have any of those. I'll try replacing the USB port with the 5Q0035726E, along with the cables. According to reviews, the M version didn't work with the iPhone. One of the phones also displayed a slow charging warning (Nothing Phone 2A). If I can't fix it myself, I'll have someone else diagnose it.

ODIS, VCDS, OBDeleven... You can write original .bin but it would be very very weird if that causes problem with usb. I never heard of that kind of problem after activation fec. No, this is not scaremongering...this is a real and present danger which I have already flagged up and shows how politicians, both local and national, should NOT get involved in things that they have zero knowledge of, including balcony solar. There are NO early warnings with electricity; once a real-life danger situation has occurred, it is only discovered by people/animals coming into contact with it, which may be the last thing that they do ⚠️. We all accept that it is dangerous to install a socket next to a sink or in a bathroom, and yet some people are prepared to risk lifes by onstreet charging from their own home electric supply. What they do not understand is the dangers of different circuits being connected to different earthing bonds etc. There is a very good reason why all extraneous metalwork in a building has to be bonded together, and this is it.

All factory settings were restored as a precautionary measure upon first startup after activation. Hard resetting the unit didn't help. What diagnostic tools are you talking about? Maybe I should try uploading the original .bin file back?

If the electrics haven't been too molested I'd go for the 2019 car. It'll have been regularly serviced and the mileage will be low enough such that there are unlikely to be issues such as prop shaft doughnuts on the way out etc.

Buying it but really giving money to charity and getting the car because he was so generous.

Has the DSG had an oil and filter change yet?

We need to know what system you have. I can't remember how to bring up the system info.
