Ordered 2021-05-03 Received 2022-01-27 Lithuanian version of the RS, extras: heated windscreen, wireless charger, double glazed front windows, Canton. Came with software version 1889, everything works flawlessly so far. Graphite grey is a wild colour, inside it looks grey, but on a gloomy day outside it looks totally blueish grey like quartz grey. I even got confused after I left the dealership, stopped at a gas station, got out of my car and the colour was so different 🤣

So, it finally happened. I still can't believe it. RS 2.0 TSI Hatch Mamba/Hyper Green Ordered first week of March Forced colour change for MY22 in the meantime (was meant to be Meteor Grey) Produced late July, from then waiting incomplete Finished Jan 3 In Poland Jan 13 Collected today, Jan 27 It was a long wait (10+ months!), but just a short drive makes me think it was more than worth it. It's going to be with me for the next 3 years for sure. Apparently, it also matches my wife! 😂 Keeping fingers crossed for all your orders to get fulfilled soon!

I am using this forum for the first time, but I've been long following the topic for a while. I purchased an Octavia in Bulgaria on the 8th of July. I was contactacted Today from the dealer, the car is on its way. I wish everyone luck!
  4. Ahh, now we're getting somewhere. I used self amalgamating tape very tightly wrapped over the splits, it helped a bit, but only a bit, vacuum lost within 5 seconds of switching the engine off, (it should last for hours), with the pipe drawing in external (un- filtered) air, the non return valve was no longer working correctly due to dirt contamination. My independent ordered a new one (comes as a complete assemby) at £42 and fitted it for free took 2 minutes. Car idle is now rock solid steady and as smooth as @sepulchraves bum. 😉
  5. At last some common sense from @thomasaspin, oil brand fairies drive engineers like me crazy, stick to the specs and schedules and you can't go wrong. It's like all that Sunday paper crap about superfoods, nutritionists are morons and dieticians and doctors laugh like drains at all their nonsense. It's the illusion of agency, people want to feel special and in control, at least in people the placebo effect actually works, it doesn't bloody work on car engines though!

Ordered moon white 245 manual estate 14 June 2021 - with panoramic roof and front winter pack. Picking up 31 January 2022. Told new vrs orders is 13 month wait. Pics to follow...
  7. Spotted some new visitors to the bird feeders earlier - seem to enjoy the Niger seed I'm guessing they are Goldfinches?

Ordered October 21 and picking mine up tomorrow 🥳🥳
  9. You should have a fault code stored, unfortunately despite closing my eyes and concentrating really hard I can't read it from here.

Hi everyone! We welcomed our new Octavia yesterday. Its a 2021, 2.0 TSI it has all the right boxes ticked and the color is spot on. The plan for now is to lower it and add some maxton bits to it. But we will see how it will progress.
  11. Yeah, unbranded stuff generally is very cheap, unfortunately it's usually no good either. Keep looking.
  12. It might be cheaper and easier to install. But doesnt have the same integration and I personally wouldnt want that slapped on my dash.
  13. I had to stay at the office for quite a while and once I got out it was dark and snowing IMG_0683.HEIC IMG_0682.HEIC
  14. Part number is written along the hard plastic sections.
  15. If you have OBD eleven, then use to check for misfires, its a fine tool.
  16. The loose plug would have been enough to cause a misfire at idle, 3 cylinder engines shake like a sh!tting dog so plug must have been undertightened to work loose.
  17. I must confess I find the idea of talking to my car so ridiculous that I've never even tried it! Chris
  18. ok couldnt connect as there was an issue with the internet on my phone. have now changed all spark plugs, started the car up and it seems fine. cylinder 2 spark plug was loose though, that might have something to do with it, god knows how it became loose though. here are the pictures: the first 5 picture is cylinder one, the next 3 is cylinder 2 then the last 5 is cylinder 3.
  19. +1 on this. Mine did the same thing when a coil pack failed. £19.50 from my local motor parts place and it has been running fine since. As @xman says, a code will indicate the coil pack that has crapped itself. If memory serves, your codes would be one of these or similar: P0301 - cylinder one P0302 - cylinder two P0303 - cylinder three P0304 - cylinder four, if your car has one. Edit: just saw OP has 3-cyl HTP engine. Hope this helps.
  20. Sounds very expensive. £20-30 ish I would've thought.
  21. No idea, it's been a good few years since I had to buy one but I suggest you check the fault codes before throwing money at it and replace those spark plugs.
  22. In the first week of Dec I made a query to the dealer and got the response that build week was just added and it was week51. On that week, VIN didn't become available yet. Then the holidays happened. VIN appeared in the 2nd week. And two weeks later, here we are.

This is insane. I am waiting for August order, also Slovenia. Impressed how calm you are.
  24. Probably spark plug and/or ignition coil pack issue. Error code will usually point to the offending cylinder.
  25. Took the Zoe down to South Wales over the last couple of days for work and going down, at 2C, I got what I expected which was to do the 93 miles to my target destination using half my battery so I did about 3.6 miles per kWh and was quite please and I use a granny lead to add another 20% of so back in to the battery. Did 20 miles down there and so set off for home with about 60% battery left and the range showing 114 miles left for the return 93 miles so should have 20 miles or so left at the end and about 10% battery. Well I set off back to Worcester midday-ish and the temperature was up to around 10C and I managed about 4.5 miles per kWh so ended up with 55 miles and 20% still showing. Very impressed with the Zoe's range but it does make a big difference every degree of ambient temperature. Fill in my spreadsheet for business miles which I will use in my self assessment to claim 45p per mile of tax relief so super economically running using Octopus overnight electricity at 5p per kWh and some free to me kWh at work. Happy days.
  26. Hi, there is a tick box in the infotainment under lighting as I have deselected it and the dashboard error message has gone away, leaving me with just the OBD Eleven message when I scan it.
  27. I'll take some pics later in the evening for you guys. It looks really good!
  28. Maybe the old orders are not profitable enough, certainly less profitable than more recent orders at a higher price, so they just keep being pushed back, with someone hoping they will get cancelled. But no one wants to admit this, and easier to say still awaiting a build date. Could still be in same position in 6 months time (and if look back 6 months, with hindsight, same position then). Logically anyone delayed multiple times is already upset, so pushing it back further is less worse option than delaying someone else’s car and upsetting them as well. This piecemeal sliding of dates seem to be norm with some dealers, saying March-April keeps customer placid because they are too scared to say might be Autumn or 2023 which might be nearer the truth in some cases.
  29. Except that it's not on any VAG service schedule to change the paper cartridge filter on Haldex 4 or clean the gauze strainer on Haldex 5. Inspired by a recent pic I'd seen of a Haldex 5 strainer that appeared to be badly clogged after 20k miles, I recently had the my local VAG Independent service the Haldex on my wife's Karoq 190 TDI. Since it gets driven fairly hard at least some of the time, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean it was. First pic is the really dirty one that I referred to initially. The second and third are before and after pics of ours. All at 20k miles.
  30. My 2009 BZG engined Fabia is perfectly happy at 20mph in 4th, and even can pootle at 25mph in 5th without any signs of distress or juddering though 4th is probably more economical. Obviously more get up and go in the lower gears as max torque is developed at 3100rpm. The fabia is geared at around 20mph per 1000 rpm in 5th. HTP stands for High Torque Performance, referring to the highish torque at low rpm. No need for high revs to pull away from a standstill for instance.
  31. @nta16 @Kobayashicar was an excessive oil user. It got the Oil Spray Jet upgrade done. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/453521-any-pics-of-oil-squirter-location-vrs-14 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/420740-mk2-fabia-vrs-aka-green-monster The Twincharger oils be it 5w 40 FS so VW502 00 or 5w 30 FS III VW504 00 507 00 times to get to an indicated 50*oC then to 92 *oC or so has been getting covered since 2010 with the CAVE and then 2012 with the CTHE. They are not that slow getting up to heat in warmer weather with the oil for Fixed Servicing or the Variable but in temps nearer freezing it can be as much as 20 miles to get to 90*oC indicated, or in some cases not even get to that. Average Temps has been covered since the early days and the difference of standard, stage 1 or 2 in times to heat to an efficient operating temp with the different oils is not much different. You will notice if driving them how the oil too low gets hot rather quickly and the temp comes down slower, that is if paying attention, sadly too many never paid attention to running with low oil and with only a 3.6 litre capacity according to Skoda the oil could be 1.3 litres low and no low oil warning light or message came up. It could be Low Oil Pressure that showed first. I used to run 3.9-4. litres of 5w 40 FS. There were dealership techs that put in that much oil. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/235544-average-vrs-oil-temperature http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/282056-at-what-oil-temperature-in-a-vrs-or-other-fabia2-do-you-back-off
  32. I can't get past the towering wall of text that @roottooterects every time another Mk 2 VRS owner dares to ask a question, it's always the same, an Aspergers saliva storm breaks like a tsunami and floods the thread with irrelevance that only he knows, all sense and reason drown in the backwash of ad-hominem attacks he then mounts to maintain his status as king of twincharger trivia mountain. Dude, sometimes the juice just ain't worth the squeeze.

Congrats, very happy for you. It was about time!
  34. Not familiar with Octy 2 systems but could try to have a look at some diagrams tomorrow and maybe come up with some suggestions. All Skoda wiring diagrams are available to download as massive pdf files via erWin Skoda. Can be downloaded comfortably within an hour with lots else, which would cost you 7 euros plus tax. I've explained on here many, many times how to get to these downloadable pdfs, e.g. here https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/491660-wiring-diagrams/?do=findComment&comment=5522236
  35. Yes - that's right. Interesting update - they've offered up to a 70% goodwill gesture on a total job cost of £690 inc VAT. So £283.56 for the part and fitting. However, here's what the contribution depends on: The contribution amount depends on the actual “Reception / or diagnosis date” and exact mileage at that time. The Reception date is the date the fault is diagnosed and the exact mileage recorded at the dealer via VWG diagnostic equipment and saved on line for warranty and audit purposes. The goodwill amount offered will decrease over time as the vehicle age and mileage increases, but by how much and when we have no way of telling, so in short the quicker a diagnosis is confirmed at the dealer and any contribution secured, the better. Basically, the car hasn't moved since my wife drove it back to the house upon which I called to get recovery to local dealer only to find out we were out of cover. I guess if I can get the car to them ASAP somehow and get it diagnosed I should get the full 70% hopefully. I call bull**** on the by how much and when sentence, frankly. The fact that they've responded today and with such a large goodwill percentage implies that they've cocked up somewhere along the line and have fitted the wrong part to my car from factory. I'll keep you updated.....
  36. Could be the loose plug, they look pretty worn (sparks like nice defined edges on electrodes) and from the overly light colour they appear to be either running very lean, or its ash deposits from oil. The photos are overexposed so difficult to see. If running lean, check the vacuum pipe I mentioned earlier for splits, if you've never changed it, it will almost certainly be split at that mileage, very common. Will cause misfires if running too lean. Can only stress that an OBD reader can pick up misfires before you notice them, if running lean could be other codes pending that will tell. Obd readers start from under £20
  37. I bought (early 2021) my O3 RS 230 (2015 - 98000km) 2nd hand at the Skoda dealer that sold it new and serviced it. The e-diff had not been serviced ... I had to heavily insist that there was an haldex that needed service on the front axle ... Was done a bit late, no issue so fare.
  38. Only need to change the one pack. Around £20 - £30, I bought Bougicord ones a few years ago at £19 ea and the car felt and runs better than it ever did on the OE coils.
  39. UP TO + 200% As advertised on the pack😉
  40. You seem to have a good grasp and understanding of the subject and the issues on your car which is the most important thing, you are also keeping an open mind, not discounting things but concentrating on those you can action and rule out. I think that you will get to the bottom of it fairly quckly the soot will probably lead you to where the leak is have a good listen to the leak at idle and higher revs before making a repair, you can usually hear when the exhaust is obstructed, the leaks make a similar noise to where you might block the tailpipe with a rag to test for exhaust leaks in the old days. Hopefully it is a leak and not a blocked DPF. Good luck!
  41. Ok. Thanks very much for your help. I used to use black tape DIY to do the job on all my previous cars but guess I better get some proper stickers now there are no clues on the covers of the light units
  42. I'd avoid such outlets based on their search engines often being as good (not!) as ECP's, and that they are Berlin based so returns of mis-supplied goods can be painful/expensive. Weirdly, the only reference I can see in ETKA to that part number you've found is on the CHYx series engines, so a double-check of your engine code would be good, e.g. see this page, item 8 LLLParts There may well be bad data in ETKA, of course. Other-weirdly is that when I just navigated a different way to that same part number on the LLL site, it's cheaper than when I looked earlier!: Volkswagen / Seat / Skoda Throttle Valve Control Element 04C133062D - LLLParts May be an idea to give them a bell and talk to a human. I suppose there's the faintest possibility that ETKA is right, your car should have the suffix-C part, and they mis-built a suffix-D onto it!
  43. Maybe it’s the sweetener for the delays we are experiencing. I will be so chuffed if mine comes with a heated wheel 🤞🏼
  44. Theres an earth point just under the carpet on the door sill about 3 inches towards the rear from the bonnet latch.
  45. I used these for the DRL https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283319454881 They work fine and don't trigger the error indicator. So the vendor seems to know what they are doing and you might find other bulbs you need in their 'shop'.
  46. Mines done it again, no connection for 2 days now, I'm so sick and tired of this turd of a car.
  47. Well. you learn something new every day. In my case you can own the same car for coming up to nine years and only now find out it does indeed only have one rear fog light. Now I'm wondering what other mysteries I've yet to uncover.
  48. OK, so the conclusion seems to be, that there are two ways to answer a phonecall and hang up again. Either by going through a complicated series of clicks and sub-menus on the wheel. Or by taking your eyes of the road and reach over to touch the info-screen. Compared to my old Fabia, where I could just use a dedicated button on the wheel. That must be that thing they call progress......
