  1. Long time reader here. I did not have any useful information to share and decided to remain silent ... till now Ordered 1 july 2021 in Bulgaria - 2.0 tsi Vision (Style ++) , Black magic, Canton, Digital dash, Acoustic windows, electric towbar , dcc, blind spot, lane and side assist , Area view , Matrix , 7 seats , electric child lock, ventilated seats, winter pack , crater 19" rims and more Expected delivery - 6 months Mid November the dealer called and said that my order is glowing red because of the rims. Canton , blind spot and the 360 cams are ok, just the rims. I've changed the rims to CURSA 19" anthracite In the beginning of the 2022 there was no info about build week. I have to sign new delivery contract for another 6 months - price guarantee (inflation protection clause) and 1% discount of the end price because of the delay. Since then i have had couple of build weeks. 3 weeks ago i got the first confirmed build week - 25. No information about missing features. I hope everything will be as ordered P.S. the car was paid in full. No leases

Congrats to people who took deliveries! And please remember to update the sheet once you had yours handed over - helps with the stats collection. Based on a tiny data set our average delivery time as of now stands at 53 weeks. I'm not there yet, so I guess I can't bitch just yet

Apparently we have a lucky guy/girl from Poland on the list. Ordered 28/08/2021, delivered 20/06/2022. Congrats Komono!
  4. It is built. Just spoke with the dealer
  5. Might be this one, but I couldn't be sure as I don't know how many with very similar patterns there may be. SKODA LOCKING WHEEL NUT BOLT KEY MASTER KEY REMOVER - LETTER N 772 Code | eBay
  6. Definitely looks like a catch up blue SportLine week!
  7. Morning all, After placing my order for a Race Blue Sportline Kodiaq with just one extra, the digital dash, on the 21st July 2021, I have just received my first update yesterday from the leasing company to say that I have an unconfirmed build week of 26 and it should be with the dealer by the end of July! Fingers crossed 🤞
  8. Living in the Birmingham area, chances are if you tick the wrong people off, you'd come back to find your car missing, on bricks or burnt-out. If I was a car thief, I might use charging apps to see where there are no free chargers, i.e. there's an EV tied up ready to be nicked. It would make life a little easier. Already some Tesla's can be very quickly cloned and stolen and I doubt car thieves will be slow in working out how to easily steal most electric vehicles before long. I can imagine a booming industry in "Charging Security" devices to beat the thieves.

They should hurry up with what they can produce. Recession is incoming and that means many cancellations.

My Octavia VRS Estate petrol ordered July 2021. I am told today that it is complete and I should see it in the UK in about 4 weeks. So good news there is hope
  11. Above 0 degrees Centigrade, the Vredestein Quatracs work better than the Michelin CrossClimate 2 tyres. For tyre sizes such as 225/45R17 and 225/40R18, the Vredestein Quatrac Pros are still available, which work better in the summer than most all-season tyres. If you're using summer tyres all year round, it will be easy to get caught out in the winter as summer tyres don't have the 3PMSF symbol. In the summer fitting UHP summer tyres may give you 10% more grip. However, come winter it will be easy to lose 50% of your grip with the wrong tyres. This means that you can gain a little in the summer, but lose a lot in the winter. If you use summer tyres in the summer, change to winter or all-season tyres in the winter. In the winter you really do need that 3PMSF symbol, as you never know when it might snow.
  12. oK, THINK i HAVE SORTED THE PROBLEM, REPLACED SENSOR, STILL THE SAME PROBLEM, LOOKED AT VARIOUS YOUTUBE STUFF, HAD A LOOK AT THE ORIGINAL SENSOR, NO TELLTALE TRACKING ON THE BOTTOM FACE, SO, SQUIRTED SOME SWITCH CLEANER INTO THE 2 HALVES OF THE PLUG/SOCKET, REINSTALLED THE ORIGINAL SENSOR CONNECTED UP, VCDS'D THE SYSTEM AND IT ALL RESET, WENT FOR A DRIVE, STILL CLEAR, I think maybe moisture got into the plug etc a few weeks ago, when i hosed off the wheel arches etc, who knows, i am now a happy bunny!!! Sorry about the capitals, couldn't be bothered to rewrite it all.
  13. My limited recent experience on UK motorways is that they can carry an awful lot of traffic and often in very close proximity to each other, and means there is a lot of drafting going on, even if it is largely unintentional. I'll expect the the M42/M1 was carrying a lot more traffic than the M18/M180 so going onto the less busy roads left you out in the wind on your own so to speak and using more fuel. We got ridiculously good consumption in our hire Kia Ceed diesel with calculated refills of 70 mpg with extensive touring using UK motorways and having to drive a lot closer to the car in front at speed than I am used to in Australia. If I left my usual comfort distance then it was continual invitation for someone to slip in the gap, usually a BMW and usually without indicating and the M1 was restricted to 60 mph on the overhead gantries most of the time when we used it Incidentally your Fabia revs at 70 mph are similar to my Echo and reflects that of many other similar small and lower power NA manual cars. If you want to know how much fuel your car uses while idling then if you go into your display options and change it (temporarily) to metric L/100km then the display will probably show stationary idling consumption in L/hour. Australia is metric and on our 1.4tsi Octavia it is 0.5L/hour with no ancillaries (aircon, heated rear windows, heated mirrors etc) running but increases with greater loads I've thought of buying an after market fuel consumption display for my Echo which I put it off since I intended to get rid of the car when something major failed. However the thing just keeps on going, even the aircon has not been recharged in 19 years and still works well.
  14. I don't have an EV and don't do high mileage but would prefer to use a faster charger as time is precious. Whilst it is possible to stretch out a coffee break (slightly), any toilet breaks definitely don't need so much time to be allocated to them. 😉
  15. There is a public charging hub in Edinburgh where EV Vans are having their tyres slashed because the vans are hogging chargers and the bosses are not being firm enough with the daft employees that could not give a damn. In Angus i Emailed the Convenor of Angus Council & other Senior staff and councillors when there were staff parking vans or cars on the very limited public chargers over holiday times. 100 yards away was the Council chargers that the public could not use.

@sneal Probably at a Dacia Dealership. Or there will be a Kamiq, Scala or Fabia out there with a faulty gearbox and a manual parking brake.

I was getting message to replace key fob battery every time I got in the car. I had noticed it on the test drive and the salesman said that was normal on switch on. However I mentioned it to the fitter when he checked my memory seats and he told me the batteries only last 3 to 6 months cos they're communicating with the car all the time. I've replaced them and not getting the warning anymore.

  21. Carlston In most circumstances I would agree that a 28mm reduction would be “a bit extreme” but, prior to that, it felt like there was virtually no suspension travel at all before it went “solid” – even a small ripple / very minor pothole would cause result in a real hit to my spine, as well as an audible thump! Therefore I took the decision to soften the springs, and to fit the 28mm shorter bumpstops as I felt that anything less probably wouldn’t give enough travel for the required comfort - that was based on my previous experience with shortened bumpstops on the Golf estate (and maybe I also fitted shorter ones to earlier shocks fitted to the Octy – can’t actually remember for certain??) . Remember also that the new Koni shocks are somewhat soft for the first few mm of travel but then stiffen up quite noticeably, and that I had fitted a VRS/GTI rear ARB several years ago and that had noticeably stiffened up the rear suspension on its own. And, so far (cross fingers) it seems to be working
  22. It mimics a dealer sticker placed like that I think. Oh and ignore the plate lights hanging off One of the plate lights on the Monte went out just before I left for England so I had to grab one from this.
  23. Getting there! Bonus points for the Brisky sticker on the rear window being like mine!
  24. @olduns Thanks. I had the same inclination, mostly based on the fact that it was reported as missing. If I accepted it and signed for it they could say it never went missing. I don't think it ever even made it to the Uni ............... (otherwise how'd they manage to get it back. Fake name signed for it. I think it was stored somewhere and the driver was hoping he might not get found out. Or the whole delivery company is dodgy. Need to keep my eye on it now to check it gets back to Treds. And make sure I get payment cancelled. Nightmare. Cheers for input.
  25. Tough one.... I'd be inclined to not accept the one that was delivered to the Uni....could be anything in there. Bearing in mind we're talking large items and high value, the less risk you take the better nowadays
  26. If the engine ECU thinks the alternator is heavily loaded, it might increase idle rpm to help. How old is the car battery? Can you inspect the signal wiring between alternator (terminal DF) and engine ECU? Unplug the two-way connector from the alternator and measure volts relative to battery negative on each contact of the loom plug, with ignition/contact switched on. This should prove neither wire is broken, if you see voltage on both.

I have had a message from Skoda today that my car will go into production in week 32 - 2nd week of August, 12 months after ordering.

Most of the braking in a car is done by the front discs....rears do very little.....Its not as if they are going up to the 365mm Audi RS discs with 8 pot Brembos from the MQB platform which will fit the MK3 Octavia.. As for increasing the unsprung weight....for the exact same size & type discs different brands quote different weights.....so choose your brand carefully.. Anyway the disc is close to the hub so any increase in weight & rotational mass is not a huge cause for concern.. The factory alloy wheels on the other hand are too heavy...I shed 2kg per wheel (rim & tyre) by swapping from the cheap factory gravity cast alloys to a lighter & same minimum strength "low pressure cast" alloy....in both cases alloys & tyres are the same sizes, etc.. As the "wheel" weight is further away from the hub its better to reduce this weight & rotational mass..
  29. Press the scroll button. or the flat button to the right of it. Forget how I do it I just do it!!
  30. Should have sold your order on 😂
  31. Toilets. Charging hubs with solar, wind turbines, battery storage and automated toilets. I would pay £2 for a crap and have had to in the past. Had to go buy food or drink during lockdown time to be able to use toilets. The government need to support transport hubs for HGV,s, EV drivers,. Any travellers. Proper commercial enterprises but owned by the people for the people and they can compete in the market. Training enterprises run by colleges / councils,. Regions. ................... Scorchio. My EV will have a flakey it is happiest at 18*oC, not 25*oC. Spending my money saved seemed appropriate. First of these big Hybrids i have seen charging. Hope it is not going to be a regular.
  32. Wow, those look like scrapyard finds... Here in Portugal we never use road salt and these parts usually only get some surface rust. But what is striking is the way those wore, with such deep scratches and areas of no apparent contact. These are my rear factory-fitted pads after 70k km (the discs are out of focus but you can see they are in good nick): And the discs after resurfacing:
  33. I've seen quite a few places state 1 hour wifi per drink and hand out pieces of paper to allow it. Influences are unbelieveable in many places and are often just freeloaders ruining places for everyone else.
  34. Why oh why could she not have walked into a lamp post while staring into her phone or flirting with the camera, if he had caught one of the shorter bollards in the ghoulies that would have been something, better still the truck reversing on the pavement, why did he not get a move on and wipe out both of them? Can't pull out a plug because you only have one hand and the other is clutching a phonewith the elbow tucked in ay your side so you can't use your upper body or core muscles? Put it down? Of course not she started Googling while he used the particle of residual brain lodged in his skull to think of unlocking the car. Drive from Bristol to London (I think) to spend 4 hours working (not) in a coffee shop, maybe the coffee shop owners will get so frustrated with these influencers and do what the truck driver failed. Can you imagine having the pair of them in your establishment for 4 hours taking selfies and recording each others annoying antics and whinging about having to pay for a second coffee or be thrown out?
  35. No, but for once a Skoda dealership should be actually helpful.

Yes it is...I did the how to guide on this way back in 2016....all info in first few posts in first page here:- How to retro-fit the 312mm front brakes to a Mk7 Golf | GOLFMK7 - VW GTI MKVII Forum / VW Golf R Forum / VW Golf MKVII Forum I do advise that you remove one caliper to look at the rear of the housing to make 100% certain it has "57" stamped on it.....as although VAG initially drilled the casting for 57mm pistons to work with the 312mm discs....when they bodged it & used the same piston size on the smaller 288mm discs the result was grabby brakes.....they later re-drilled the casting for a smaller 55mm piston for the 288mm discs..... My 2014 MQB platform MK7 Golf had the 288mm discs with 57mm pistons....so all I need to do was get the bigger brackets to space the caliper further out to fit the new 312mm discs... Also you will see that the brackets are left & right handed, & you will always find one side way cheaper than the other....buy two of the cheapest side & swap the pins around on the "wrong" bracket...as that is the only difference in the brackets...
  37. Loads of fake Brembo stuff on the web, I've currently got Brembo Max front discs in 312mm size & Brembo plain rear discs....& plain Brembo pads...no rattling & all ok.. For the 288mm & 312mm front discs The front caliper big bolts are very high torque:- Big bolts 200Nm (148lbft), can be reused just clean thoroughly! Calliper pin 35Nm (26lbft) (always renew or thoroughly clean & use blue threadloc if ok) Splash shield 12Nm (9lbft) ABS sensor & brake disc screw 8Nm (6lbft) Also do NOT use copper grease or ceramic type greases on pad backs or the slide pins....they are all wrong & will eventually cause the caliper/pads to stick...been there done that.. Best stuff for the slide pins (area inside the slide pin rubber boots/gators) is the TRW stuff "PFG110"... & for the pad ears/back contact areas with the calipers you need to use either VW hot bolt paste, or what I use is Loctite LB8009 heavy duty....very high temp, low wash out, no metal content...& will not calcify like the ceramic ones.. For the rears, you need a special very short hex allen key head...I used this laser tools set when torqueing up... You may not as your cars have the manual handbrake & the slide pins on the calipers are different Laser Tools 5584 Hex Bit Set 3/8"D 2pc
  38. An emergency button "for those moments when you think"? How very 2020's! Edit: Posh voices with "urban" language is so incongruous. ""It daahs luke sick, daahsn't it?" 🤣
  39. ^^^^ Charging and paying the penalty for overstay looks to me like good value parking. In Edinburgh it can e cheaper to pay a Parking Fine than to pay for parking meters and be limited to 4 hours. Just as long as in a parking bay and the car is not towed. @EnterName Luckily for me for a while this older charger has been giving out electric without having to activate so i have been able to get an hours charge and enough to get home from Edinburgh Airport. Others have been using the chargers next to it and not noticing that Edinburgh City now have a limit of 30 minutes charging then the penalty. You have to come off a charger and move to another, the problem is how useless the card readers are and the communications and i have actually not managed to get any of the 6 chargers to start at some attempts. When i have got them going that has cost £6 for the 30 minutes which is fair enough, but really i do need an hour, and even the Black Hybrid Cabs need 50 minutes on the 50 kW charges. There are 4 22 kW chargers you can stay on for 3 hours, and then the 7 kW ones that are 30 pence a kWh and you can stay on for 12 hours. This is Edinburgh Airport Park and Ride. @ Stirling Park & ride there are 60 7 kWh chargers that are Free to use, 8 22 kWh and only 4 50kWh chargers. Free and with no penalty. I would pay there if they were to put a 60 minute limit on the 4 50 kWh chargers, that is to stop the ignorant that park on them for hours.
  40. I think the i3 RE is one of the few hybrids that got it more right than most in terms of how to use the engine. The engine as a generator model could even use an LPG/CNG generator to recharge the battery, which would have the bonus of being cleaner at point of use in terms of particulate matter etc.
  41. Just a dealer. Back in March ŠKODA suggested all kodiaq orders would be fulfilled by August and that is apparently still their aim.
  42. The UK owning the National Grid would have been a good idea... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Grid_plc 'Taking back control of energy security.' Just not the UK taking back control. http://www.nationalgrid.com/gt-announcement 2022. 2019. 2022.
  43. London, with another cross rail coming, whilst the rest of the country get next to nothing… Still I’m sure charging infrastructure in London will benefit the whole country 🙄🙄🙄 Rather than doing more for those with the best public transport in the country, perhaps funding should go to those areas where car is the only choice!
  44. Larger rotors won't help you stop any quicker as the stock brakes are more than capable of locking the wheels... If you're doing repeated, high energy stops (like on a track) then yes, larger rotors will help with heat management. For normal street use, unless there are signs you're overheating the brake system, I'd stick to the stock size

Model number and SW version of your infotainment unit? Or at least VIN...
  46. Great help on this forum guys. I ordered the same part 3V0827566 for my estate. 40 pounds on ebay. Fitted it today, 5 minute job. Slightly different to remove so have put in photos in case it helps others. I too used trim tools to lever out.
  47. I would stay with it. The Roomster is brilliant and mileage and age is nothing to worry about. Returning from Cornwall this weekend mainly the broken down vehicles being attended to by the breakdown services were the Audi's and BMW's while I soldiered pass with a smug look on my face.
