Very happy. Infotainment not as daunting as so thought. Lane assist not as intrusive as I’d read- pretty helpful most of the time. Only driven about 60miles but so far, so very good.

  5. Yes cause I can. I have screenshot the parts I used from Autodoc on my invoice. I purchased the Clubsport rear anti roll bar when they were £92 on offee from Darkside. But even at the higjer price of £132 is still a bargain. With the top mounts you need to add 2 for each, as I thought they came in pairs. https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/genuine-21-7mm-x-3-6mm-vw-mk7-golf-clubsport-s-rear-anti-roll-bar-upgrade.html
  6. Hi all, update. The Superb is home. New windscreen ( @ApertureS no damage caused ), new gear lever, all four Pirellis now the same tyre, in dash aircon vents replaced (thanks @ApertureS ), tracking now spot on, two umbrellas now in place, rear isofix covers properly seated. My faith in Skoda’s used approved scheme restored. Yes, it would have been great if all this had been spot on first time round, especially as I paid top ££ for the car, but their response (eventually) to my complaints was really good. BTW, the Octy vRS 245 that I had for three weeks is a great car. Loved the virtual cockpit, tight seats and throttle response. Didn’t like the central screen controlling everything, especially as one touch often wasn’t enough, the fake noise (very wearing after a day or two of Subaru 5-pot burble - thankfully easily turned off), and the significant tyre and wind noise. Was I pleased do have the 272 Superb back? You bet. More refined, quicker, proper controls and much better screen, and I love the simplicity of the real dials in the binnacle. Finally, my daughter and I are delighted to be listening to Canton sounds again.
  7. Did you check if your car still has transportation blocks in the springs?
  8. No, I am simply writing replies to your statements. There's no prepared replies to anything other than wanting to seek out truth from tabloid headlines. If you are not prepared to stand behind your statements, then don't make them. It's that simple. If you make any statements, then provide sources, otherwise you are just a simple armchair keyboard warrior that has zero credibility.

It's a shame there's no permanent way of turning it off
  10. Proper Superb 4x4 weather this morning. Safe and speedy trip across the Mendips earlier! Neighbour’s Octy in the background.

  14. I see the point of car forums as helping others to fix their cars. I see using them to try to promote political or ideological stances as misuse, basically.
  15. So it's OK to try to make everyone feel guilty who may have recently purchased or be planning to purchase a conventionally powered car, if it's a tit for tat attack on another poster?
  16. The sentence can only be interpreted as my personal opinion. When have anyone used that sentence construct to state facts? Also, as pointed out, it was a sarcastic re-wording of the over dramatic quoted post.
  17. Hi all, I'm new to this lot as I have just purchased my first Fabia Vrs after downgrading from a 3.0 tdi audi a8 that I hardly used. I absolutely love the fabia and I have gone through 13 years of being a mechanic seeing these bombproof PD's run flawlessly for their entirety. I am now glad I own one and plan on keeping hold of it for a long time. (Once the straight through pipe has gone, it's not my cup of tea) I am just curious to know how rare the seats are that are in my little red rocket as they aren't stamped up with an SE number and have red piping, not blue. I have been told they were an extra from the factory but not sure what to believe. The pictures are from before i purchased it and the car has been cleaned inside. 🤢 I am also in the process of having the drivers bolster repaired as it really let's the car down. Any advice would be welcome 👍 Cheers
  18. Thank you so much. It works perfekt!! 🙂
  19. Not on an ASZ it won't.
  20. Update to version 8755 is available, will PM a link over
  21. yes no transport blocks , i think it might just be the upgrade in the wheels , but god knows what the banging in the rear is , i have tried all the hacks on this site .
  22. The Karoq Sportline was like driving in an armchair , i had the mk3 Octavia and it wasn't as harsh on the roads as the mk4 .
  23. Yes they are aware , and i cant believe the wait times to book a service in as well , Skoda used to be very good with service booking times even the courtesy cars are over 4 week wait .
  24. Do not go there ever again!!! If they are authorized Skoda retailer, they have to provide all the tools required (templates), and Skoda allow 150 time units to fit them. 25. Seems quite a reasonable response to the post that was about buying a Chinese car and a clean conscience which was posted without a winky thing.
  26. Mine is a 2020 and a mk4 they released they as early as July 2020 which mine is the first edition model
  27. that's why it's our 3rd car, most of it's life it has done just motorways. Never done a short journey, we have our workhorse for that which is a 1.6 petrol roomster and frankly it's a lot more reliable with the same hp.
  28. It's really not a great engine, it gives trouble in all the VAG vehicles it's used in, usually injectors fail, but EGR and DPF issues are common to all Euro 5/6 engines from all manufacturers that don't do motorway miles. If you're not doing motorway miles DON'T buy a diesel, 'twas ever thus, but particularly so nowadays, maintenance costs are becoming prohibitive, spend a bit more at the pump on petrol for peace of mind.
  29. Fair point. 👍 Same reason people post criticising everytime someone mentions WD, we've all got our own ways of doing things. Personally I start with some 99p a can stuff and if that doesn't work, use something better.
  30. This is the reason I stopped coming on this forum, poisonous attitude.
  31. @Crasher. I think what it is is people actually learning facts and listening to myths and using common sense and being prepared to have an open mind. I can play devil's advocate as much as anyone. I am charging EV,s in Scotland which is different from in England, then the UK is different again from other world regions. Sadly the burning of coal in England to generate electricity is ridiculous and is happening because of failures of the Westminster government. The local authorities and public blocking solar and on shore wind and battery storage is a scandal. Those areas should be first to have Power Cuts if any are required.
  32. Not had any new hubs mentioned for a while, so here are three I've heard of recently:- MFG 6x150kW chargers at Stanton St Quintin near the M4 MFG 5x150kW chargers in Lewisham Denbighshire Council hub 3x50kW and 33 fast chargers at West Kinmel Street Car Park, Rhyl.

Here's a useful video of how to replace a daytime driving light DRL bulb on a Yeti: Read the comments to this video, as the tips to 'wriggle' instead of rotating the bulb holder or to jsut gently pull the wires to the bulb, helped. DRL bulb: Volkswagen N 10776301
  37. Are you asking about the petrol 2.0TSI or the diesel 2.0TDI? I have the petrol Sportline 2.0 TSI DSG 4x4, and find my fuel consumption varies between the mid 30s (for 6 mile trips to the shops using a 50mph dual carriageway and 30 mph urban roads) and the mid 40s when cruising at 70 along quiet motorways on longer journeys. These are measured brim to brim when refilling the tank and not from the instrument panel readings which are invariably around 5% better. My records also show the fuel consumption is worse in winter, but the sure-footedness of the 4x4 system and the ready acceleration for overtaking make it very acceptable to me bearing in mind I'm not driving as many miles each year as I used to. Chris
  38. Open circuit problem sounds like a blown fuse.
  39. Might be worth posting an autoscan? The alarm siren is a common issue (dead battery inside it) and doesn't cause the engine light to illuminate.
  40. So while I’m waiting for the exhaust bits to arrive I decided to put some rivnut fixings in the tailgate so that it’s easy to swap the road number plate for the showroom vRS plates when at shows etc. The road plate was held on with double sided foam strips so no easy way of swapping them over and over. Pretty uneventful, not really photo worthy but I drilled the factory punched square holes out to 9mm then fitted two m6 rivnuts into the bootlid. Carefully measured the hole centres onto the show plate then drilled two 8mm holes for the black plastic m6 screws to go through. I’ll keep yellow screws in the car for the road plate obviously. looks quite smart with the small Detailing World sticker as well.. Speaking of stickers, I’ve put this underneath the bumper purely for the MOT man’s (and other nosey folks) amusement 😂 more soon when the exhaust gets here.
  41. Update: The car went into the garage again last week. They found a secondary coolant leak caused by a broken clip on a hose which was replaced. I drove 300 miles over the weekend and the coolant level appears to be holding steady. Fingers crossed it stays this way. Thanks for everyone's comments and advice!
  42. Without checking further, (Quick response) You generally prise them off, taking care not to break their retaining lugs. Pry tools are the best bet as you may scratch or damage things with screwdrivers but it will usually pop off. I can look into this further if needed but my car is no longer in use due to ULEZ, so is going to be sold but is parked up off road and I'd need to go to it or search through the Haynes manual to be fully sure of this action. Just have a look and if there are no small caps that cover screw fixings, it will almost certainly be the pop on/off type fitting
  43. I think some recent versions have two EGR systems, high and low pressure. Lucky owners...😆
  44. Quick review. Initial impressions of the vRS are good. It feels taught and sporty, mainly because of the firm steering, fake (Impreza-like) noise and the firm suspension. Only Individual mode lets you turn these fake noise off. I like it, but I think the constant burble would get tiring after a while. It is torquey and quite quick, probably quick enough for UK roads. I like the interior too. Modern and looks and feels good in places - see negatives below. Stereo okay too, but lacking punch, so I would always have Canton. Wireless CarPlay is great too. Also really like the digital cockpit. It feels like a positive evolution from the Mk2 and Mk3, and almost different enough to be two generations on (Mk5). Negatives - fake noise (as above), needs DCC, well-specced but no reverse camera. Feels a little plasticky inside - door cards and fake carbon on dash feel cheap. Doesn’t feel quite as well put together as my Mk2 did. The fake noise in sport mode makes the left front speaker / door card vibrate badly - in a 22 ‘plate car. Not a good sign regarding build quality. The stubby gear lever is a nice touch, but should have been metal, not plastic. Wind and tyre noise suggest minimal sound deadening. Compared to my Superb, the slightly smaller Octy is nicer to thread around my local country roads, but the Superb really isn’t much wider. The Superb 272 feels quicker (it should as it is more powerful and has AWD) and more refined inside to touch and in terms of noise. Overall though, the vRS is a lovely thing and perfect for a nippy family hold-all. For me, a Superb is the right car, but if I was in my 30s again, the vRS would probably be the one.
  45. have u tried running a aircon reset & calibration? it might help. how to video here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WqX5r28AGI
  46. Almost like a plastic scraping sound? Pretty common, it will be one of the heater box directional flaps either sticking or not greased sufficiently. Now the only thing is, depending on what system you have there are 5/6 of them. 1. Recirculation 2. Drivers temp 3. Passenger temp 4. Flow direction 5. Windscreen flow direction 6. (Optional) rear temp control It is a job of working out what one is making the noise. Even then it is not a nice job, most of them are buried DEEP behind the dashboard and awkward to get to.
