  2. Californians have steamed ahead with the Green agenda and they are chalk and cheese to the hicks in the mid West and south but Texas is seeing the light too and their install of solar and wind is outstripping california. If the two states were countries they would be fifth and fifth and about eighth in the world league. Perhaps both should leave the United States and go their own way as US Treasuries tank and do it before much longer and the US put itself in a full tailspin. EV are a natural extension of having more and more electricity available at lower and lower real prices plus their year on year significant improvement in range etc and the substantially dropping prices YoY.
  3. Funnily enough that still works just fine. This is what burnt out my pump And it was still somewhat working through until the motor gave up

  6. Haven't been active for over a year just wanted to pop by and say hi and show you my new addition my 280 💪🏼
  7. Honestly can't remember if it had lights on the rear doors... sorry. And yes, no SD card on this MIB version - USB only.
  8. Maybe, but it would be a DIY job as it was never an option. You’d have to do all the wiring and everything yourself. The original had lights, the FL only had reflectors on all variants. Never seen one. Never bothered me, but I sit in the front… 😃 No. Only option is to remove the upper bit, but because it sits on ledges on either side, it will never fit between those same ledges. You can sit the removable bit on top of the non-removable bit though to increase height in back ‘half’ of the boot. The lower bit of the front ‘half’ is taken up with the spare wheel anyway. Or you can prop up the removable bit near-vertically (just lift as though it’s on hinges) in a groove, but that obviously divides the boot front/backwards. Hope that helps.
  9. I found ACC worked flawlessly last summer on my trip to France, the nav told me the speed limits when I landed in calais but I changed the headlights rhd/LHD manually.
  10. Thanks for this, just got my Variflex seat to fold for the first time in 3 years 😃
  11. There are a few mirror options available, as the part number has changed a few times, here they are oldest to newest revision, any will work okay: 3G0857511G SMA 57A857511 SMA 57A857511 9B9 The rain sensor: 5Q0955547B *if you are buying a used one, you will need a new adhesive pad: 7N0955609 If you need trims: Lower cover: 6V0858548A 9B9 Upper cover: 3V0857593 9B9
  12. It does. Fuse 47 is the rear wiper fuse (and thus would be switched). Good news that yours was still wired up even without the wiper.
  13. Many thanks, @MartiniB Euro Map 1 downloaded, expanded to SD Card and in operation. New maps show 20mph zones but they are incomplete with several still displayed as 30mph.
  14. Depending on the car spec and If factory fitted the bluetooth unit is under 1 of the front seats and should be available through the maxidot display. If its not fitted you may be cheaper/easier get an adaptor or an after market radio.
  15. Login u - 'guest' p - 'guest' Navigate to 'MQB-Solution>MEN2 - LG The file you are looking for is ending '_working'
  16. If its the same as the Superb look for an App on the dash called Traffication. That has teh settings for speed camera announcements.
  17. I may be wrong but this is how I understand it - Felicia 1.3MPI 2000 year, was missing one ground on the OBD connector, now I installed but still no connection to the ECU or faulty codes (pin wiring diagrams to OBD port as in previous posts) pins 4, 7 and 16 wired - are pin 5 (signal ground) and pin 15 (K line-K2) also required to get the Foxwell NT 201 to work successfully? HTH.
  18. Still no fix for me either, regularly in touch with Skoda but they can only tell me they don’t have a solution yet. Strangely I’ve had no issues since I took it back to dealer to have it checked in January. Still doesn’t get away from the fact that they are still selling cars with a known fault! Surprised they can get away with that without it getting known by the buying public!
  19. Okay, yes. Acknowledge the low battery in keyfob. You have two bigger issues: Firstly, the gear selector sensor is faulty. Common problem on VAG cars. Quite an easy fix but you need a new gear selector sensor or you need to get the sensor cleaned and checked. The other error is in relation to the camera on the front of the car. It needs setting up. Suspect you may have had a new windscreen recently and not had the windscreen alignment done??

Welcome to the forum. 15 years since the last post in this thread brought a smile to my face. Happy Easter.
  21. Blimey, that was a £750 option in 2016!
  22. The 215/45 R 17 tyres are XL (Reinforced) as are many other tyres, there is plenty choices though and they are not more expensive than other sizes.

Hi! I am Pali and owner of my second Skoda. The first was a mk1 Octavia 1.4 petrol, 55kw, the transmission died at 578k km, other than that the engine is not smoking, oil consumption is normal, i am a satisfied customer :). My second (and current) skoda is a 2006 mk1 Fabia, 1.4 petrol, 55kw. It has small issues, this is the reason I am here. In the past I have read this forum, helped a lot to fix my Octavia, but now I did not find what I need for my Fabia. Hope i will receive some valuable info.
  24. Welcome and happy Easter. Maybe best your question moved to the Mk3 section. A mod can move it. Going and getting in a few Fabia for a road test to hear for yourself and feel the differences is really the sensible thing to do. Maybe ata car supermarket type place with a few Fabia. You are going to have to look at what you are buying even closer because some Mk3 Fabias came with 215/40 R 17 Tyres. Or there are 215/45 16,s. There will be 8 year old be on sale with other than they left the factory with, wheel size and tyre sizes changed maybe.

Does your model hav the button on the dash to lock unlock the system from inside of the car ? if yes this switch or cables going to it can be loose or faulty if no then it's a door restraining strap removal door wide open and check the connection that goes into the door from the inner panel normally a good clean up of this plug and socket sort this issue out but have known the lock on the drivers door to cause this issue due to corrosion did cure a friends car by spraying WD on the lock from inside the door with the card removed all worth a try good luck
  26. They already do ............. We call them 'American's'. ............
  27. Many thanks to everyone for your help Now resolved
  28. @Itsrelfy I second this. Have had it since Nov 22 and absolutely no problems whatsoever.
  29. I do. Here you go. (https://www.protectionfilms24.com/article/2x-brotect-matte-screen-protectorskoda-karoq-amunds-sportline-2021-infotainment-system-1941804.html ) I got one and very please with it. It does have a semi matte finish but doesn't show fingerprints. I find the screen is easier to read under all light conditions (so far) and is still OK with fingers touching "buttons" Recommended. BTW, you get two screen protectors in a pack.

Full-on nerdy posts are a feature, not a bug. The EA888 Gen3B is a very economical engine if driven gently.
  31. How, what, why? Did you report this on the threads which were created for this one of which is clearly show at the top of this page. This seems a bit unnecessary, ungrateful and even in my opinion spiteful - but you are free to put what you have and as "I am not a number I am a free man" (as No. 6 told us) so is my response to you. You seem to have the arrogant privileged attitudes of a self-acclaimed freeman, please go to where you feel more suited.
  32. Interesting. I’m an old fart and the nav is exactly the same as it used to be which, like almost every other one, is pretty poor. To find something specific, I always use the Google site search EG site:briskoda.net now stick your search term in This generally gives the best results. Still if you’re set on leaving, seeya.

I don't have ACC on my cars but I have noticed on a couple of hire cars that the ACC ran a little closer than I liked. A 100km out of Adelaide the interstate highways go down from Motorway/Dual-carriageways to just an undivided single lane in each direction, bit like the British "A" roads before Motorways. It means if you are following a large truck, or B-double then you don't want to be too close because they could run over a kangaroo/emu/wombat and clear it with their high ground clearance, but which would cause a lot of damage to an Octavia when you run into it. Around 50k kangaroos are killed on Aussie roads a year. I like to allow 3 or 4 seconds distancing here but have to cut it to around 2 seconds or less in Britain, otherwise it's just an invitation for other vehicles to drop in the gap. Impressive economy for a 2.0tsi I filled up tonight and calculated our "since last refuel" average consumption display optimism has worsened by 0.5l/100. So the displayed 5.8L/100 was an actual of 6.3L/100 (45mpg). Which is still not bad considering it is primarily my wife's car. 97% urban environment and 70% peak traffic times.

On a run, my TSI 2.0 190bhp (lowest power output of EA888 engine) gets 52-55mpg running on super unleaded and tyres in ECO inflation.

  36. A few from this evenings walk.............
  37. I fitted a Nextbase Dashcam with the Nextbase OBD socket hardwire kit, I put fitted the wire along the green route. Advantages with the Nextbase OBD kit, it just plugs in, no need for an earth wire, its a permanent live -for incidents when parked, no need to remove glove box to access fuses. Some might say it will drain the battery but I've not had any issues. My Karoq is a 73 plate.
  38. Some impressive cherry blossom at RHS Wisley today Strange that a couple of these have come out upside down…
  39. Best I could manage of this morning's Solar Eclipse🌞🌝 I stacked a Polarising filter with an ND8 and used a shutter speed of 1\16000 (my camera only has a min aperture of f8, so not ideal). I'll need better a better ND filter next time!
  40. Very nice shots, Lee! I'm an aviation fan myself🙂
  41. So your car is doing it correctly, dipping left lamp not to blind oncoming traffic but keeping side of the road fully lit. In UK it should be the opposite with right lamp dipping and left staying on. Year on and I'm still not any wiser as to how to fix that issue. No help from my local Skoda dealer.
  42. After 3 years of ownership it finally hit me how to hold the false floor in the boot up! The parcel shelf hooks have dual purpose - to latch the parcel shelf to the boot lid and also to hold the false floor. At last, I no longer need to hold it with my head so that my hands are free to pull out things 😅🙈
  43. Assuming the vari-flex seats in Karoqs are similar to those in Roomsters and Yetis, they will not release unless the seats are in the fully rearward position. On one of my Roomsters, I had to sit in the seat and shuffle it hard back in order to get it to go fully rearward.
  44. Thx for the replies and the above video, all very helpful. Did the replacement last Thursday... Disconnect battery Undo the 2 airbag clips and remove airbag (after disconnecting) Prise off the surround Disconnect the DSG plugs Remove the controls and take into the house to swap over the AliExpress ones Realise the AliExpress ones DO NOT have the DSG connectors (the solder pads are there but no connectors. Contemplate life decisions. Take stuff apart - find out that the broken clicky bits can seperate from the electronics so use a combination of OE electronics with the shiny new AliExpress clicky bits - yay. Also realise that the broken thumbwheel can be fixed with some superglue for free. Contemplate life decisions again. Keep as spare. Put back together, reconnect battery, go for a drive to clear all the warning lights and delight in turning the volume up and down from the steering wheel once again!
