  3. Be careful making that sort of comparison. Next you know, people might be think electricity can leak into the ground or spread fire by flowing like river, like petrol/diesel. 😜 Petrol station can definitely pollute a lot more than simply supplying the source of pollutant: BBC NewsBramley: Fuel leak clean-up will take years, residents toldBramley residents hear updates on a fuel leak after 600 residents were left without water in June."Asda paid the village £512,000 in October as compensation for the disruption." Pocket change operational costs to the petrol station. Can't even cover 1 year of clean up operation. But must keep the petrol station open despite needing years of clean up.

  5. Has anyone watched this latest video by JayEmm on Cars, if so I wonder what your thoughts are about what he is claiming in it? At the very least it would appear that he has some sound ethics and is not willing to sell his soul, or at least that's my opinion, yours may vary and that is fine.
  6. cut a hole fettle to fit make a mess call it about done and and figure seam sealer is amazing and this will do... Now to prep for paint and then we can get the glass in!
  7. I'm overseas so not sure, but I believe it has been a bit warm in the UK lately???? If so the density of the fuel is affected - you may be getting normal litres/volume, but the fuel density is less and consequently it weighs less. This is probably affecting the indicated range depending on how the range is calculated from the tank contents. I'm in Australia and my range can vary post fill up by 50km depending on temperature. Best to fill up in the early morning as the fuel in the petrol station tanks should be cooler and denser.
  8. Injector and HPFP replacement appears to have made no obvious difference to anything, disappointingly. But having refreshed bits in those places can only be good in the long-term. Had a bit of a breakthrough an hour or so ago though, whilst cleaning up and studying an inlet manifold with intercooler that I'd acquired very cheaply from a much lower mileage car. The PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system relies on a subtle feature of this manifold, which appears to be a bit of design frailty, at least for pressure reduction at low throttle openings. When I first looked at the relevant "fifth port" on the spare manifold, it was very easy to conclude that it had a plastic blanking plug in it. Perhaps because the design had ben changed to apply a bit of vacuum to the crankcase in some other way. Didn't photograph it before my breakthrough, sadly, but after leaving it for a few hours and going back to it and having more of a (literal) poke around, I found a teeny-tiny hole that is fundamental to the design. The tiny hole you can see in the first pic, especially after seeing it in the closer shot, was utterly occluded and invisible at first.

  11. HI All, I haven't posted on Briskoda for a while, have a Superb MK 3 280 484 L&K which has been an amazing car, we used to have a Kodiaq but sold that a few years back to get a Tesla Model Y AWD LR. We had an Enyaq on order but Skoda couldn't supply during Covid so ended up going to Tesla. After having had enough of the bad build quality and other bits I decided to look at the Elroq to replace, we've just ordered an Elroq VRS with all the options ticked (probably a waste of money) . First got the itch to get rid of the Model Y a couple of months back when we moved and I realised A) How wide it is and we don't need a car as big given we also own the Superb B) how bad the turning circle was (It's really a thing with a model Y), also general ride quality and then you have the brand challenges. Anyway, test drove an Elroq 60 Edition last weekend and really liked it and then saw the 0% on the Elroq combined, my wife test drove yesterday and then we went and ordered. Very impressed with the build quality and ride, I went with the Elroq vRS as I wanted some of the gadgets but wanted DCC and then the similar performance to my Model Y. The 85 Sportline was close but by the time I had specced it up there wasn't much difference between that and the vRS price wise Spec wise it's a monster, I know it will depreciate (hopefully not as bad as the Model Y) but if all goes well we may end up keeping Elroq vRS Hyper Green (Time will tell but from all the Youtube videos released this week it certainly won't get lost) Maxx Pack 21" Wheels Winter Pack Heatpump (Why this isn;'t standard amazes me) Really good spec to anything else out there , looked at the New Model Y but put off from the new updates and Tesla as a brand now, Renault 5 was too small, Alpine was the same but overpriced (I used to own an a110), looked at Megane / Scenic but didn't tick the boxes. Polestar too expensive for what I wanted. The Elroq ticks all the boxes including being a great size Delivery is estimated at 12 weeks
  12. I know nothing because my car is coming in July, but I work in IT trouble shooting... I notice you haven't mentioned anything about the before bit eg. geography change. Is it the same routine you did every morning etc...etc... and then this happened
  13. On MK2 all those lights were the ABS/speed sensor.
  14. Hi Nigel I am not at all sure how my post ended up in 'Hellos and Goodbyes' but perhaps the Moderator can move the whole thread for me? As to the car there don't appear to be any relevant codes showing up on my AutoPhix 7610 scanner which I updated at your suggestion first. I did however, again try the fan on full blast and changed from External to Recycled air and there soes seem to be a bit more air coming through. Does anyone know where I can find a definitive explanation of all the Skoda Kodiaq codes? There are codes showing on the scan but none of them seems relevant - except possibly this one. (see photo). Anyone know what "not authorised" means?
  15. Not familiar with FL cars too much, but yeah, pulling fuse for infotainment would be first thing I'd try. Check in car manual fuse diagram, on pre-FL it is fuse 30 for infotainment and 19 for communications module, which may be at fault here.
  16. I seem to remember the E for Electric channel revealing that he had been cancelled by VW if not some others, I can’t recall, when he wasn’t 100% favourable to their products. He subsequently seemed to become extremely disillusioned with the whole of the USA and left the country. The whole “influencer “ scene is clearly open to abuse but I guess the car magazines and newspaper articles of the pre internet age were probably appropriately biased according to how they’d been treated…
  17. 18. He is a bit casual regarding facts. ? Did TESLA take Jeremy Clarkson to court? They attempted to sue the BBC. So TESLA sued the BBC for libel because of what Jeremy Clarkson said on Top Gear 2008 review of the Tesla Roadster. The UK courts ultimately rejected Tesla's claim and dismissed the lawsuit and they lost the appeal.
  19. @stevenh The fuel tank range at it,s highest is assuming the car being driven at it,s most efficient. When it shows the range when the reserve light comes on that is according to how much fuel is being consumed at that time.
  20. I filled mine up with Momentum 99 in Minehead on June 8th and I was very disappointed with the expected range on that, it was showing 340 miles, and it didn't last that at all despite cruising up the A303 & M3 at around 75 where it was clear and whilst it did go up to 370 for a while, it did seem to drop away very quickly even though most of my driving that week back at home was on dual carriageways and faster A roads. I get better consumption with standard 95 & a shot of EcoMax in the tank.
  21. For the Larson fans amongst us: 'Car!' Gaz
  22. @SalvaS , @b007lal Write to me, we can update your units to 0480 and activate Carplay.
  23. IMHO such firmware does not exist
  24. Currently having a very similar issue with mine, however it only seems to occur after the car has been sat unused for a few days and then taken on a long (>70 miles) journey (then it will repeat for a while at much shorter distances). Have had to wait for it to occur before dropping it in to the local garage who said that the issue could be one of a few things. Corroded wire to one of the ABS/Speed sensors (usually exhibits intermittently until it corrodes all the way through and then permanently stays on) Faulty ABS/Speed sensor (in my case the scanner points to the rear ABS sensor) Duff battery (ruled out as had a new one fitted a couple of months ago which in itself fixed a whole load of additional problems I was having) Car is booked in this week to fix but will update on the final root cause.
  25. I have never heard about software MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0270T,where did you find this information?
  26. Reckon a new or known working second hand one will be in order. Don't think they are cleanable. You coud de cat it but would probably cause MOT problems. I got my last one from https://www.cats2u.co.uk It was for an old volvo 940 and price was pretty good. Alasdair
  27. The ease of getting in and out of an Enyaq is what made me buy one I had an MG5 before and that’s lower than my mk2 Octavia
  28. Are there any updates after 1985 ? i can see this one on MIB Solution MOI3 EU SKMQB R2380P

Evaporator temperature sensor. I agree, that may be misreading high, causing the system to cool further than it should.

Might be an issue with the sensor that protects the evaporator, forgotten its name, or there is enough moisture in the fridge gas to cause small pellets of ice to form which will block the flow of liquid/gas - until the system has been switched off for a short period of time, then liquid/gas flow is restored as the ice pellets have "gone".
  32. The quality of the answers will massively improve if you specify which engine your car has. The coolant temperature is not 90 °C, it's software that keeps the needle at 90 when in reality the coolant is anywhere between 70 and 110... With OBD software you can view the real coolant temperature.

I never found the hoses brittle, when I did this job on both my superb and Sharan. A set of hose clip pliers make the job a lot easier than struggling with the spring clips
  34. Fitted, working and very pleased. £1600 in total (I missed that they hadn't included the VAT on the labour charge 🤦‍♂️) I've attached the parts list in case it helps anyone else.
  35. Arrived today. Kodiaq iV SportsLine - Love the colour … and I suspect those wheel covers will come off soon!
  36. OK. So good news. Skoda Customer Services responded to my enquiry and then spoke to my local dealer providing them with all the details they needed in terms of parts and coding. It's not cheap (I didn't expect it to be). £1500 incl parts, labour & VAT. It's being fitted on Thursday so I'll let you know how I get on 🤞
  37. I retired my recently traded-in 2023 manual 1.5 TSi SE L Karoq on Fuelly and see of the 37949 miles we covered in 27 months it averaged a brim-to-brim 43.8 MPG (at a cost of £5,675.39😯). Will be interesting to see if the 1.5 TSi DSG car which replaces it will be more or less economical? Early days yet but DSG appears a better match for the car and avoids the driveability (more here: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/521243-15-tsi-power-cutting-out/) concerns which seemed to afflict so many and was admittedly a part of the reason for trading it in. The on-board computer was generally optimistic to the degree of a few MPG. I plan a further post on the new car (1.5 TSi DSG Sportline Edition) once I'm more familiar with it.

Autosport magazine article link https://www.autosport.com/wrc/feature/10068/how-a-dalliance-with-mcrae-transformed-skoda-rally-reputation "Since its return to international competition in S2000 in 2008, Skoda has become a dominant force in second-tier rallying, its Fabia R5 having claimed the last five WRC-2 titles in a row."
