  1. I've never noticed any redness from that panel on my 2018 vRS... Could a previous owner have tinted them or used red bulbs perhaps?
  2. It might be better to post a full autoscan to give that coding some context
  3. Did you buy the car from a Skoda dealer? If so, I'd tell them to check/fix it for you. Otherwise, you could check the following adaption channels in the CAN-gateway: IDE01996-SFT00169-Installation list: specified installations-Actuator For Structure-borne Sound, coded ENG137058-SFT00169-GW_Enable_CAN_Timeout_DTC-Actuator For Structure-borne Sound,Enabled
  4. I'd be tempted to speak to a local garage and see if they can empty the system, let you make your repairs and then check/refill...
  5. At a guess, P14AC00 is probably related to the exhaust flaps being stuck or obstructed? Not sure if that would cause the other codes
  6. I'm sure @pab567 will be along shortly. It might be worth confirming the full filename of the update you're trying to use too...
  7. I think there are two versions: - 5E0075101 for the pre-facelift excluding the vRS and Scout - 5E0075101A for the facelift excluding the vRS and Scout I'm not sure how much difference there is but 5E0075101 seems to be the preferred option for the hatchback facelift vRS
  8. @roaddetective - which part number did you use? I used 5E0075101 which fitted fine on the rear of my '18 vRS hatch. There is a tiny gap but you wouldn't notice it unless looking for it... Apologies for a somewhat mucky car
  9. I grabbed mine from Kopacek but looking on eBay they aren't too bad atm: - Front (5E0075111) @ £25: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283782771035 - Rear (5E0075101) @ £19: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124039557681 Just check the part numbers are correct for your car
  10. Given nothing else is complaining about missing comms with the cluster, it could just be the RCD330 is confused? The car is much older than it would have been originally installed in. If the buttons worked normally with the CF but not with the AQ , that would suggest they need LIN 2.0 rather than 1.3 as that's the most obvious difference between the modules. I don't think I'm familiar enough with the pre-FL and it's MFSW to comment further I'm afraid :(
  11. That all looks pretty happy, it's certainly the coding I would have used and the XXXXXX is normal. The measuring blocks can be used to check for the MFSW function. You need to do the G85 calibration: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf_(1K)_Steering_Assist#Sensor_for_Steering_Angle_.28G85.29 Might be worth checking "Channel 009: Steering Angle Sensor" is set correctly too... Error 31 isn't uncommon, it typically means you're trying to set an invalid coding and the module is refusing it. Assuming your VCDS is genuine, you could always make a thread over on Rosstech's forums as they may have more insight
  12. Heh, no worries, happy to help We probably went a little overboard checking the wiring but I like to rule out as much as possible before spending money on parts. Still, nice to see the dealer got it right with a blown display and weren't just throwing parts at the problem!
  13. Agreed - FAT32 should be fine for the maps I added a guide a little while ago that might help: Although I've got the latest maps I can't say I've ever used the nav so I can't comment on the country entry or missing A14. They can be slow to update roads though....
  14. Yup, I believe Carista should be fine for resetting an airbag code. You could always contact their support first to make sure. I've never used it so I can't add any detail I'm afraid
  15. There are many reasons for the EML to come on. Ideally you need to get the car scanned for fault codes to narrow it down
  16. Given the part number starts 5E0, I expect they are unique to the MK3 Octavia A few example part numbers: - 5E0 857 537 - 5E0 857 537 A - 5E0 857 538 - 5E0 857 538 A
  17. The coding will depend on what is fitted to your car, there is no guarantee the coding from someone else will be correct for you... You can check the operation of the buttons using the measuring blocks.
  18. No idea about the cheap elm327 things, I've never used one. Carista, OBDeleven, VCDS, VCP, ODIS or anything VAG specific should be fine to clear an airbag code Check the compatibly list before you buy obviously...
  19. A current autoscan will help us understand how your car is equipt and configured plus any fault codes that may be relevant. The old autoscan will confirm the original part number and coding which may help with the new coding. If you've ever done an autoscan previously, it's probably been saved in C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Scans
  20. A wheel from a MK3 won't work in a MK2. The MFSW butons aren't compatible... You'll need a either a MFSW wheel from a MK2 or to change the buttons to a compatible version. Have you got a VCDS autoscan from your car? If it hasn't got a MFSW fitted, you'll probably need to replace the steering controller too...
  21. It might be worth posting an autoscan from before you started changing things and a second one showing the current state It would also be helpful to know which MFSW you've fitted.
  22. Pin 1 at the display connector end should be red based on the WD I have and posted above. It should go directly to fuse 10 and therefore have 12v on it. If it doesn't, you need to figure out why as that'll stop the display working...
  23. Did you check pin 1 on the display connector had 12v?
  24. Added some circles: Assuming I'm in the right orientation: - The four wires circled in blue go to the display as per the WD - The two wires circled in yellow are CAN-bus for the headunit to communicate with the car It sounds like you've checked the four (blue circled) cables back to the display connector and they are fine which is good. We know the two (yellow circled) cables are fine as the headunit communicates with VCDS. Have you checked for power and ground at the display connector? If they also check out, I'd be looking for an inexpensive used display on eBay as a next stage. I think they are sub £100 for this headunit...
