  1. I’m a stickler for OEM, so I would’ve gone to TPS for a new one. As much as I know you pay for genuine, I’d rather do it right once.
  2. Welcome aboard. I think personally if that was me I would be looking at the new hub, in order to make sure of a good fitting and to eliminate any potential all issues down the road.
  3. Dean replied to Icebun's topic in Skoda Karoq
I would’ve bought an Audi. Skoda are the absolute worse for road noise, even with the quietest sounding tyres. I ended up getting so sick of it, I fitted my MK1 with sound deadening on the floor pan and it helped a lot.
  4. Not in my estate, I just left it with components. However, in my VRS I did the full setup with crossovers and tweeters. The unit is inside the door panel and the twitters are standard size to they fitted straight in. There no issues fitting the speakers as long as you get the correct size, there should be a topic that Rob made about the right size/depth.
  5. This is something I’ve been looking into. I found a simple (decent) head unit made a hell of a difference, even with the standard speakers. I upgraded the front with some spare components I had laying around (never used) and that improved things even more. I thought about the corner rear boot stealth sub and upgrading the rear 6x4s for improved sound. I have yet to get round to the sub, but my next upgrade will be the rears and I think I’ll be going for some rockfords. I’m going to try these and see how they sound and I may possibly amp them to improve further. But right now I’ve just replaced the HU and front speakers and they sound decent.
  6. Check out my post of my MK1 Estate L&K (out of my 2 VRS’s and this estate) as this has been the worse for water ingress. I did the same process on my Black VRS and added sound deadening too (no topic for this car yet). But don’t let the older cars put you off as its done well to server you 14 years. It just needs some parts renewing.
  7. Make sure you post in the MK2 section if that's your car, as this is the MK1 section. Make sure your car isn't mapped as this can also cause flat spots.
  8. Hi,

  12. When I get some free time I'll amend them. Thanks all.

Hi Tom, and welcome to the community. We’ve got the MK1 Octavia section for help and the Projects section to show off your car. Enjoy.
  14. Welcome to the modern world. Simply paste the direct link to the image which will end in: .jpg, .png, .gif, etc, and it will automatically embed and show the photo. Uploading pictures remains the same.
  15. Topics merged as there is no reason to have two.
  16. So I'm on the hunt for one of the original SkodaAuto Telephone Preparation Kit you could get when spec'd. This is what it looks like - David. A. who owns the above picture had his from Factory. I have some part numbers but can find anything online about the unit. They do come in various models to fit various Nokia/Motorola and Siemens phones but, does anyone have one lying around or know where I could get the complete kit from? Also, does anyone have any more info on these?
  17. @Lofty Cheers mate, I got the PDF file and I'll change it and get some printed up. Absolute star, thank you!
  18. Yeah exactly like that. I'm looking for an Octavia VRS plate. If I can find a close up picture of one I can remake it on Photoshop as I have the fonts. I'll take a look at your project, thanks @Lofty!
  19. Mentioning @Tech1e so he sees the message.
  20. I have a THS setup. A very small amount of modification to the slam panel, I didn't want to hack it up as it's obviously quite important. Small cut here to allow the top pipe to sit in You'll see how it all sits here
  21. I believe it's due to the front slam panel as there're a few differences between the VRS and the MK4 Golf. A popular upgrade would be a Welly cooler, or a Forge. Personally, I went for a more stealth setup and used a twin pass intercooler. The means both the pipes are on the left hand side so when goes into the TB and the other joins up underneath where the original intercooler was. This was nothing can be seen from the bumper (no ugly pipes/joins).
  22. Will keep a look out for you.
  23. I hate the one to be bumping an old topic but I thought it might be worth answering this. As per Adrian Flux insurance (read the small print/or ask an agent), your car WILL be covered if you state that your car is parked on your driveway (if that is what you declared at the time). You WILL NOT be covered however if you're at home between the hours of 10pm-6am and your car is parked outside on the street and not parked on the driveway. This would invalidate your insurance as it's a higher risk of parking your car on the street. You would need to sort out additional cover for this.
