There is no reason to worry about opening the bonnet voiding the warranty. How else are you supposed to check the oil and top up, or to fill the washer bottle.

A few months ago I was following an almost new Mini along an unlit 70mph dual carriageway in near darkness. There wwere no lights on at all and the car was only just visible. I eventually got past and saw that the front large circulat DRLs were on, which, I suppose, gave sufficient light to just about see to the front. The driver appeared to have no idea what a hazard they were causing.

Shouldthey be in the doors on a Kodiaq? In our Karoq the umbrella is under the passenger seat.

If it is being done under warranty I wouldn't mind whether it was replaced or the old one refitted. The issue is, what happens if you take the car in, they take out the sunroof, the roof is faulty and they don't have a replacement to hand.

I'm not sure what the issue is here! Many cars now have adjustable headlights.

Engines use no fuel at all when coasting The fuel supply is cat off. The only advantage of coasting in a DSG is that there will be no engine braking at all, and to be honest, most modern cars have very little engine braking anyway. Coasting, of course may make a small difference in a manual, but unfortunately it would not be legal.

On another manufacturer's forum there is a discussion about climate control switching off and not restarting on starting the engine. This appears to be an issue with 22 reg cars, but it doesn't do this on my 19 reg car. Could be the same.

In the main screen go to vehicle, then settings (bar at the bottom right), then Light, then Travel mode. Just change it to right hand traffic.

I don't know whether it is true for all versions, but I have seen an option in the menus for my car. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm going in just over a week so I'll be rechecking soon. You should really change the beams whether you are driving at night or not, as you may well be driving in poor weather conditions or in areas with many tunnels.

Don't think so. Our Karoq behaves like this.

Try pressing the start button with your foot off the clutch (manual) or brake (DSG). The system should start without the engine starting.

Mine has done ~5000 miles and my tyres are beginning to look like that. They will not be replaced with another set of Turanzas.

I dobt whether all new cars will have thius feature next month. This type of thing is usually applied to brand new models, not all new cars, and may not even apply to new facelifts. The problem I have with it is that it relys on all models having the samekind of mapping. So if you are driving a car with a certain map and the car mistakenly decides to slam the brakes on because it thinks that it is going into a 30 limit and the car behind hasn't, it's a recipe for a bad accident.

For a manual, press the button without your foot on the clutch.

Assuming the TPMS is the indirect type which does not have pressure monitors in the wheels, all you do is change the wheels, set the tyre pressures, then in the menus, reinitiallise the system.

Diesel is cheaper per mile in fuel, but the initial extra purchase price, issues with DPFs and regeneration and the increasingly anti-diesel attitudeof some councils made it a petrol no-brainer for me. This may be different if second-hand values of diesels fall significantly.

The tyre looks like it is worn at the edges. It may need tracking, but best to not get that done until the knock is investigated.

There is no indication on the thread whether the issue is via usb cable or wireless. If by USB cable, you are probably already aware that this issue may be attributable to the quality of the cable. I had this problem with a nonSkoda car, and it was a cheap cable issue, now using higher quality cables and no issue.

Outside temp 17 degrees. Temperature at vent. No idea about the interior temperature, brobably irrelevant as aircon set on low both sides to give max cooling.

Just checked out our Karoq. Minimum temperature on a 2 mile trip was 6.2 degrees.

Just decided to try our thermometer (as above), and had to pay £4 for new batteries. Our other (non-Skoda) 3 year old car's aircon didn't feel very cold but it was 10 degrees. OK for now, but probably will need a top-up by next year. Bear in mind that these cars will need the new more expensive fluid, and a couple of years ago it was ~£200 for a top-up, although it may be cheaper by now. EDIT: At Kwik Fit the old gas is £60, new gas is £130.

My understanding is that the autobrake is like hill assist, except that it works on the flat, uphill and downhill and works by maintaining brake line pressure until the car moves. I can see no reason why this shouldn't be technically possible even with a traditional handbrake. After all, on a car with an electric handbrake, that doesn't activate when the autobrake is on, only when applied via the handle or by switching off the engine. But because it is theoretically possible, it doesn't mean it can actually be enabled. And of course there is no button.

So effecively, you wish to enable autohold in a car which isn't equipped with it?

With inderect TPMS you are correct, Assuming everything else is constant the wheel with low pressure should rotate faster; how much faster it needs to go to trigger a warning, I don't know. My Karoq has never given me a warning but previous other cars have and there was significant pressure loss, about 7-8 psi before I got a warning. The difference could be different size tyres, different amounts of wear, different recommended pressure front and rear, not being on straight road, etc.

The cruise control on my Karoq does similar. When on a 60mph road, on going into a 30 limit the cruise resets to 30 mph, then when back to 60, the cruise resets to 60 mpg, not 50 mph. Quite normal. My Karoq has had a message saying there is a software update. It says that after starting the update you can drive the car, and if you switch off before the update is complete the update will continue next time you use the car.
