1.4TSI (CHPA) 2013 DM KEITH QUOTE
@dmniel Brakes - There's a reason why they get called "main stealers". £156 is more like the price of a new calliper and installation assuming the pads and disc to be good. Oil separator - Don't know Undertray - Don't know. EML - Is that even coming on?

TDI CR170 Lumpy start
Ah, you misunderstand. The seatbelt is to give the glowplugs a few seconds before you key the ignition. It may not work, but at least it's free.

Recomendations for Breakdown cover.
Liverpool Victoria, aka Britannia Rescue. I've never waited an hour, and this was lucky but I once handed the phone belonging to the garage I was in directly to the owner of the recovery firm and didn't even wait one minute to get a recovery vehicle.

TDI CR170 Lumpy start
Ah, it will start better if you switch on, put your seatbelt on, and then key the starter.
-
changing tyres from 235 45 18 to 225 40 18. Is it a bad idea?
Emphatically YES,

TDI CR170 Lumpy start
Ok, this is critical. Do you put your seatbelt on after the ignition and before keying the starter?

£1500 for cancelling new scala order?
@elah1940 @Alasdair1 @Warrior193 - As upthread, I think this "contract" isn't worth the paper it's written on.
-
Conrod bearing or injection
Ok, ask the guy who said you need a new crankshaft bearing something like "How does a worn bearing cause a misfire?" Laugh at whatever nonsense he comes up with. Bad injector(s) or fuel pump seem much more likely, but error codes will go a long way to diagnosing which.

Skoda Felicia 1.3 Carb only idles well when choke flap is closed and a few more problems
Well, AIUI you're looking at the wrong figures. Carb icing is caused by high relative humidity inside the venturi (throttle body) leading to ice forming, making it narrower, and accelerating the formation of more ice there...

Tyres problem
OK, are you getting any odd, especially rubbing when making tight turns, noises?
-
Fogs and Full Beam led conversion
Physically yes, they'll be plug and play. I do not guarantee that the LEDs have the correct focus and/or will not activate bulb failure detectors.
-
Fogs and Full Beam led conversion
Well, the LED unit in your photograph is an H1, H4 or H7 (not sure which). The halogen is an H3, as distinguished by having one bayonet and one wire attached to the bulb. I think you have at least some wrong LEDs.

£1500 for cancelling new scala order?
Well, in that case the contract isn't worth the paper that your copy is written on.

Weird anti roll ball bushes
@Joe41 - @Alasdair1 is correct that there are several diameters of front ARB (ex works) for the mk1. It's also possible to fit some VW or Audi parts, so you need to measure the bar diameter before buying parts.

Skoda Felicia 1.3 Carb only idles well when choke flap is closed and a few more problems
See the above. My father has had carb icing at +10C.

Why is my auxiliary belt like this ???
@Ashley2714 As others (and my 1.9TDi) that belt looks outside in.

Help me fix a problem that's been bugging me for years!
Normally a reasonable assumption, but given the rest of the dialogue, has anyone checked the balance of the driveshafts?
-
MOT test, and side window...
@major-eyeswater - Well, MOT Manual Section 3.2 does not mention any need for a window regulator to be operational.
-
£1500 for cancelling new scala order?
Did you read it properly before signing?
-
TPMS?
FWIW, my Sister's Jazz also gives a single "bong" on start up if it "thinks" a tyre is soft. They're not, according to a BSI pencil gauge.

Slow Reving
You do realise that most people never do this?
-
Rhythmic humming noise at about 62mph which gets higher pitched as you go on.
@JoeSpencer99 - Sorry mate, you've tried everything I could suggest.

Skoda superb auto stop start
Ok. has it been "coded" into the car?
-
Skoda superb auto stop start
OK, what sort of battery is it? We need model and stored amperage as well as maker.

Terrible fuel economy (20mpg) - 2.0tdi vrs
The particulate trap (DPF) is getting full (again).
