  1. If it's the wrong way round it makes the biting point very high like you describe, I've been on here for nearly fifteen years and it's happened more than once before with VRS clutch installations, if you look at the friction plate you'll see the boss in the middle sticks out slightly more on one side, that's the side that needs to face outwards IIRC.
  2. A new clutch doesn't need bedding in, it works as it should immediately if it's been installed correctly.
  3. It should not be as you describe, It has been installed incorrectly, they put the friction plate in the wrong way round in all likelihood I'm guessing.
  4. The bonnet switch is to prevent tampering with the alarm, if you open it with the alarm set it should go off.
  5. Yes, I had it remote installed and there were no problems at all, as you say it feels unwise but I figured there was nothing they could do with my ancient lappy and so it transpired.
  6. Unfortunately I'm unable to recommend what I use due to it being cloned software, however it is the best multi-marque pro-class software I've ever used and like the proverbial 'oracle' it seems to know the 'location' of everything. I bought it on eBay for a twitch under £100 and it was installed on my ancient lappy which runs it easily.
  7. Non-return valve on brake servo vacuum line is not functioning.
  8. ...so just do what you're already doing, it's a cheap and quick way to deal with it.
  9. Don't **** about, just use a flap wheel disc and grind until flush then hit it, don't try and cut it or it'll grab and make a mess!
  10. Yes they're all the same, eBay doesn't know anything because it's the vendor who puts what it fits.
  11. Dude, a little tappet noise is normal on older engines, you're suffering from mild twincharger hysteria, you'll definitely know when it goes wrong!
  12. No need to worry about age with synthetic oils, with your usage changing oil and filter every couple of years is just fine.
  13. You need to do a leak down test in addition to the compression test on number one.
  14. I'd be AMAZED if the inner joints really are worn, it's one of those 'gimme' jobs that most owners can't check. You certainly don't need a new rack! FYI my Fabia is 24 years old and is still on the original inner joints, I changed everything else when I bought it in 2016.
  15. It's a petrol turbo engine so oil is much less critical than with a diesel turbo, topping up with any oil is better than allowing the level to drop too low so you've done no harm and there's no need to take any further action. Simply change the oil and filter at the next service as normal.
  16. Simply replace the clutch switch first, then the brake switch if that doesn't fix it, the parts are cheap and as you rightly point out, it can't really be anything else.
  17. Have you fitted the helper springs from the VW/Audi application?
  18. What are you? Eight years old? You expected an admission of liability from a huge corporate entity like Bosch which could potentially open them up to the mother of all lawsuits? The fact that they've even bothered to reply to you suggests they're taking it VERY seriously indeed so relax, your work here is done.
  19. Good luck, don't hold your breath...
  20. Yes, not the daft little screw!
  21. All Fabia Mk 1 bonnets are the same, you don't need a 'special' VRS one.
  22. Yes, the timing chain has definitely slipped on the crank sprocket I'm afraid, you should do a compression test with leak down to determine if the valves are damaged before proceeding any further.
