  1. Looks great - I'd wondered about this Polar range; just blasting with a lance. The Pre-wash is pH Neutral, the shampoo is relatively alkali (generally expected and needed for road grime/traffic film), but the protector is fairly acidic at 4.7; not sure I expected that but its Siloxanes and Silicones so similar to something like Carpro Hydro2 perhaps. In fact, on that ph point, using the wash might end up being quite destructive to the Protect layer because of such a difference to the ph levels. As such, you may find you can't maintain the Protect layer by keeping it decontaminated with the Wash product. Be interesting to see if that is the case or not.
  2. Nice one DW - welcome to the forum and glad you're enjoying the Octy!
  3. Hi All, Just writing to let you know that I'm offering valeting and detailing around my locality of SW London/Surrey. From a maintenance quick wash, to a full machine polish and ceramic coating, engine bays, interior etc. I'm certified and validated by IDA and trained at the UK Detailing Academy. Always been keen over the years but decided I'd ditch the overbearing boring finance career for it. Happy to chat about it all day. Cheers, Lee
  4. A few other things I picked up recently: Not all wire wool is the same. This LINK explains well with a chart after the first pic. Looks like Brillo is probably 0000. Razor blades - Stainless Steel is fine, but Carbon Steel will damage the glass.
  5. If you know a decent pro, that'll always be worthwhile; given they should have the right environment and equipment to do so. For me, having learned the hard way, painting is one of those things that the better it is done, the better it lasts and makes a difference.
  6. Nice work. A few products contain it - Carpro's CeriGlass is the one I know but there'll be others. You can either DA or hand polish using a Rayon applicator.
  7. Think you can change the route colour on Waze if you use that
  8. If there was a model to come back to, Sportline Plus would def reassure its a good move, and Diesel is def not the no-brainer it used to be. My 280 gets high 30s on a longer run but rarely do I drive with a little spirit so KeteCantek's 42mpg wouldn't be a one-off. Def supports additional eco on the 190. Fingers crossed you. As for the models, there are 3 I can see; note these are Sportline Plus, but just Sportline. Simpsons Preston, DM Keith Grimsby, RRG Bolton. Grimsby doesn't have them in stock yet. All are only with £3k off from dealer and £3k off from Skoda on a PCP plan so check the interest rates. £6k isn't to be sniffed at mind you. Annoying that one of them advertises an SD Card reader which, forgive me if I'm wrong, they ditched on the move to MIB3.
  9. Alternatively you could have it wrapped. Thinking about old Max Power days when people had their window surrounds to look like carbon fibre, and plenty of "chrome delete" options but there might be a more OE look on offer
  10. Weird. When I had troubles with a previous version before the dealer updated to 304 to allow OTA updates, I could only find that the SD card slots from pre-FL versions were blanked off and you couldn’t update any more. Thank you for correcting.
  11. Update - had oil service (i.e. 2nd year) yesterday and service desk phoned during the day to say that there are engine covers now available. 2-second whileuwait job but obvs has to be done by them. Its a pre-order item and have booked me in for...10th Oct. Stupid timeline for that sort of job but it is what it is.
  12. Different Part no. to @kbudaj- different ending letter; is this different versions of MIB? Mine seems to have stopped doing this now...maybe an OTA recently has cured some bit of software we don't necessarily see in the Sys Info screen?
  13. Just to note this is only on pre-FL cars. For FL - they removed the USB sockets so only method is OTA for later cars. I open my glovebox and see the HDD cover and two little blanking plates underneath
  14. Came here to say dealer contacted me yesterday during oil service; car has been without engine cover for about 14 months and now getting told the new one is ready. WhileUWait job but got to pre-order the part and so booked in for 10th Oct - mind boggles on that lead time tbh
  15. Just to cover this off - I'm on software version 306 - have been for best part of a year when all my classic MIB3 woes were sorted. So I don't think this is as simple as just a SW version update - could it be something subsidiary to that...?
  16. Cheers for that - good to know 👍
  17. If your foot is touching (literally touching, not pressing) the brake pedal you can feel it moving away from your foot. The car will slow all the way down to stopping. Won’t automatically start again if traffic moves off but I think a nudge of the throttle gets it moving again.
  18. Adding to this - same symptoms as everyone else, reset resolves it for some time. Steering wheel volume control doesn’t work but also the right-hand side doesn’t zoom the map on the digital dash either.
  19. Oh wow, talk about throwback - I did not understand why it was orange when I was about 6
  20. Whichever bandwagon you jump on please don’t make it the one with the lettering that looks like fridge magnets. Just my opinion of course, but I think they look bloody awful
  21. Null
  22. Haldex service for me - oil change including dropping pump out and cleaning the gauze. Before and After Pics here. Utter nuts VAG don't require dealers to clean this: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/510981-awd-oil-change-and-maintaining-warranty/#comment-5742731 Such a good stance on that car
  23. Welcome to the forum - although if you're actually in a Skoda office people might also bite your arm off for what actually goes on in HQ...! Plenty of friendly profiles and lots of advice and experience here.
  24. Welcome. There's a specific forum for each mark of each model so get yourself in the relevant one and get pawing through it; without a doubt there'll be a plethora of opinions on remapping versus plug-in boxes etc. so you'll not want for advice and experience here!
