  1. 18mm is correct, I believe, for the long starter motor bolt heads. The one that has the M8 stud coming out of it will need a ring spanner or deep socket. You've checked that the non-crank isn't the usual broken, or nearly broken solenoid wire?
  2. 5Q0907643D, superseded by 5Q0907643E (£88.80 + VAT at Skoda).
  3. It's normal and I doubt it's alterable. Won't flatten the battery unless the brake pedal is pushed continuously.
  4. I wasn't asking what it was, I was showing you what Alasdair meant, but which you thought would be soldered to, or part of the PCB. So look for it in the fob and see whether it looks damaged or absent.
  5. Message me with the VIN if you would like me to check via the car data (this evening).
  6. I think the part Alasdair is referring to is this, which has no electrical connection to anything in the fob. Known as ID48, "immobiliser chip", or "bugger, that was fragile" depending on the circumstances. I'm not sure if a 2017 keyfob still has such a device.
  7. The current requirement to have posted 20 times before outbound personal messaging becomes available to new members is a bit of an obstacle in this situation.
  8. Photo quality is too poor to even see if that's a cam belt or an auxiliary belt.
  9. This reg has a BUD engine. Belt kit (not inc WP) is part number 036198119C. Part number for genuine water pump is 036121008M.
  10. Maybe. Or your board heating has unintentionally moved one or more components, causing normal inputs to no longer work within driver's side module.
  11. I can send you a working driver's side module as an experiment, subject to a suitable, returnable deposit.
  12. Passenger side not working from driver's door control though? If driver's module (and its switchpack) was alive, but a problem with its relay, it would still be able to work the passenger window.
  13. Convenience module totally uninvolved, in any active sense. What year is the car? I'm unconvinced that your driver's side module is working at all, but I may be misremembering whether or not passenger module can work from its own switch regardless. How far are you from Highworth/Swindon?
  14. Hmm. Check fuse 11 if you haven't already. And test convenience opening/closing via key in driver's door lock.
  15. Something that works briefly after an intervention such as a blast of heat doesn't necessarily demonstrate something that will keep working. Passenger window will work independently from its own switch for a short time after each time it's powered up/reconnected. Not evidence of comms from driver's module.
  16. From a Skoda dealership parts department. Should only cost a couple of quid. Will need to look up by reg/VIN as there's lots of variants.
  17. Yes, it's shown as normally closed, push-to-break on wiring diagram.
  18. You have to wonder about the extent of "extreme truck tailgating" necessary in this record.
  19. Can your OBD device view live data? If so, try to see whether the clutch pedal switch is operational. Don't suppose it has cruise control? That would stop working if the clutch switch failed.
  20. Thanks for the mentions guys. I don't have any experience of mk2 Octy window/door modules, but always willing to try. @mk2ian56 can you post photos of the items you've been trying, including the original item if poss?
  21. I believe your compressor is a clutchless design, which has variable displacement controlled by a proportional solenoid valve. This has been the case from day one of Fabia production, back in the previous millenium. A small proportion of refrigerant circulates all time the engine is running, even when the A/C system is switched off. So the need to run it regularly to keep things lubed etc has no basis in reality. It's also not true that refrigerant will need to be removed and replaced for a pressure sensor change; there's a valve under the sensor that prevents significant loss during such a change. @Evolution13 is likely to have info about recommended spark plugs on a CTHE. I could tell you the suggested OE part number, but I doubt you'll be buying genuine Skoda items.
  22. This was without removing anything, just looking to the right of the duct that goes from front of car. Highlighted connector in this copy
