  1. Which lights are you talking about, headlights, interior lights, rear lights.....
  2. Assume this is for the disc brake backing plates. The mountings get weak and this is what will cause MOT failures. Sadly, they are usable replacement parts and not warrantable.
  3. Woo - that's a third party head unit, so whilst it will work absolutely fine, its not an original Skoda unit. Skoda Surround and Virtual Base will probably not work here.
  4. Yes, you need a memory seat to get the mirrors to go back any further.
  5. Firmware updates need applying. Do you have an Bolaro, Amunsden or Columbus head unit?
  6. Did you ever enable up Skoda Surround and Virtual Base on your system? It should work on your car and will improve the sound massively.
  7. Very easy if you have some basic tools. However the car needs to be on ramps so it is probably a local garage job. There is a nice thread on the VW forums on how to do this: https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/detailed-procedure-for-gen-4-haldex-fluid-and-filter-service.8894225/
  8. So it time to close this thread for the final time. I managed to sell it to a company in Rochdale who were very happy (I think they had a buyer for it). If the new owner is on Briskoda and they purchase SK67 OCT, please get in touch.
  9. DQ250 boxes and DQ380 or 381 boxes all do the same thing with diesels - they slip and move into second gear as soon as possible. They will only go into first if there is an incline or you need rapid acceleration.
  10. In essence, with HALDEX 4, you have 85% of the drive at the front and permanent 15% at the back on normal roads (Haldex 5 has quicker clutches and engages instantly). As you loose traction at the front wheels, the clutch for the rear kicks in and transfer power to the rear tyres. Could I recommend that you have the HALDEX system services (it needs doing [recommended] every 20k miles) and get the filter or sieve cleaned or replaced.
  11. Very easy to check which fuse does what. If you get the handbook for the car or download it from Skoda UK's website it tells you what all the fuses do.
  12. Just make sure your LED headlights are setup for Left Hand Drive mode and not Right Hand Drive mode.... This will make an enormous difference.
  13. @Snapperseb Congrats about your new purchase for a 2016 Scout. Hopefully you might be able to send us a photo of it when you ready. Ref: cooling system. Sounds like the silica bag has burst and it has blocked the heater matrix. At least it is a known issue - and the others are right - there is a TPI associated with this. Most of us in the know tend to remove the silica teabag from the coolant header tank. If you have the silica teabag in the header tank, the silica and the ready mixed G12++/G12evo/G13 cooland should protect those metalic components mentioned. So - when your Scout is back to health, you just need to remember that the coolant will need changing every 5 years.
  14. You do know that will be a MOT Failure (if you are in the UK).....
  15. What did you do to fix the fault @Camarao69?
  16. What's the betting that VAG have locked down that set-up (as per the Octavia/Fabia etc)? It means that you should get an error message either stating Component Protection or Value cannot be changed. Do you have a new style MIB system? Is Adaptive Lane Assist there as an option for Sale in the 'shop'?
  17. Sounds like a fueling issue. You might have to test each individual injector to see what the flow rate is.....also the common area behind that will be the High Pressure Fuel pump. If you have high pressure at one end of the block and not on the other, you will get lumpy running and the car will run rich. You might well have a downstream issue now with a blocked DPF and gummed up EGR valve - and the fault will seemingly be random until the upstream issue is diagnosed. Big picture diagnosis - and as @Kenny R says - find a decent VAG specialist or use your local Skoda retailer.
  18. For those who don't speak German - Load counter has exceeded 99% Load counter has reached 100%
  19. Have you tried dusting in/around the area of the internal proximity sensors - above the drivers head in the middle. There are some plastic grills in there in the headliner between driver and passenger.....a GENTLE hoover will hopefully resolve your issue.
  20. quite possibly Yes. Try bringing the brightness back up to previous levels - and clear the DTCs - see if the error goes away. You might also have a failing battery though (first rule of random VAG error messages).
  21. Agreed - don't expect much sympthy from any Briskoda member for dodgy/pirated VCDS leads. You might like to consider a copy of ODBEleven instead which is cheaper and less likely to break your car.
  22. Speak to @SashaGrace and see if she can slot you into her busy diary!
  23. A scan is very much required here. If your car had dropped into Limp mode, you would get a warning message on the dash. The Haldex 4/5 system does add in some weight, but it shouldn't be terrible. I know that Skoda dropped that set-up due to poor emissions in 2017. If the car is not showing any errors, then my suggestions is some Diesel Power Blaster from Hydra-International which I've used to great effect to help clean out an build up of soot from the EGR and help clean the DPF (all performance limiting factors).
  24. Two ways forward - one is easy, one is harder. Easy: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=oil+extractor&_sacat=34998&_sop=12 Oil Extractors - you can remove the excess oil via the dip-stick filler. Harder: Remove the under-tray protection and find the sump plug. Put tray under car, remove appropriate oil, seal up (possibly with new O-Ring in Sump Plug), re-attach under-tray protection.
