Not taken for the quality, but for the content:

That bird on the wire is a Cuckoo. I was about 40' away. I've never been so close to one, and it was fantastic to see. Made better by the fact it even cuckoo'd a couple of times before flying off. Very unusual to see.  This was out in the middle of Pevensey marshes, yesterday afternoon.  Wish I'd had a camera and lense, rather than a phone!

Fab shots! I feel your pain trying for prop blur. The Victory Show takes place a mile or two from where I live so I usually go along to get some shots. Here's some from recent years:

This is the view from my drone of somewhere I recently stayed.

The isolation and total lack of nightime light was the real reason for this post though as I didn't expect, and certainly wasn't prepared to capture the most amazing sight that darkness brought so forgive me for grabbing a generic photo of:-

The Milky Way!

I think this was the first time I'd seen it in it's full glory and definitely an experience never to be forgotten.

A bit of a deja vu moment when I received this video from 'Visit Scotland' in my email earlier today!

Talking of birds, here are a few from Old Warden yesterday. It's damn tough trying to slow shutter speed enough to get nice prop blur without the rest being shaky, especially at 400mm+ focal lengths!

Yes, I must clean my sensor. I never normally shoot at anything above f/4.0!

And the sound of those engines! As much as ICE in cars doesn't do much for me nowadays, a nice Merlin V12 sends shivers down my spine!

Here is my effort to achieve prop blur in flight

I saw these F2 boats at Rother Valley this weekend. Shame there was only 4 of them racing :( But they are very quick and it's reckoned they pull a lot more G force in the corners than an F1 car :)

Went to a local marina to do a bit of photography, pretty challenging place, not what I was expecting, more industrial graveyard than glamour..

Anyhow a few of the better poor efforts below..

Here's a couple more from my day out at Rother Valley. This boat is an F4. Somehow it looks a bit more 'sexy' than the F2s, at least to me :D if James Bond sent motorboat racing, I think he'd have one of these

I had a couple of goes on a hydroplane at Lydd about 40 years ago.  Scared the crap out of me and was enough to rattle anyone's teeth out :o

Exciting though B)
