Next up was the wheels, i like to keep the OEM look so decided to put a set of VRS alloys i had sitting in my garage on. I paid £40 per alloy & tyre, the tyres are goodyear F1 and all had between 4-6mm of tread on them. They were for sale local so cost me £160 in total. I prefer them to the sports alloys and dont think the ride hight looks to bad.

Next up was all the pedals. I was driving an Audi tt at work and noticed the chrome pedals and quite liked them! They dont look cheap and tacky like most chrome pedals and still had a decent amount of rubber on them for grip.

I noticed them again in my friends ibiza fr and they looked exactly the same. After doing some digging I found out my car was ment to have them as standard, but had been removed at one point. i managed to locate a new set & fitted them no problem.

I quite like the look of the chrome vrs footrest you can get for the rubber rest just to the left of the clutch pedal, will be purchasing one in the near future from ebay.

Fitting was very easy, the rubber on the clutch & brake just pull off or pry off using a screw driver and they should just fall off, the throttle on the other hand is one unit and the rubber doesnt come off, but the new chrome one slides over it. The brake one has a rubber locating hole in the middle which can be abit fiddly to fit correctly and get the rubber all the way round the pedal. The clutch is easy enough to push on as well as the throttle one.

Shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to fit.

small update with pictures of stuff i got for the exhaust job and the other stuff from the scrap yard. The hanger, rubber & bolts. The 55-60mm exhaust jointing sleeve. The interior light i got, Had a choice of 3 colours but stuck with the original colour of gray. I've got this as a small upgrade as mine doesnt have the two map lights either side. Oh and what is the clear'ish thing on the bottom left of the pictures? it came with all the paperwork and history of the car from the previous owner and i have no idea what it is!

nice work! IMO the sports are quite nice cars and maybe try keep it a little less vrs as there are loads of standard silver vrs's about.

A better camera may also help ;)

I have one of those clear plastic thing's it was attached to my keys when i bought the car, assumed it was some kinda anti key theft thing or something as it has one of those metal strips in you find on steaks in tesco.

Nice one on listing the part numbers too :D

Good work :D

The plastic "thingy" contains various codes for the car. I think one is the key code, one is the radio code and part of the VIN is on there as well. A good thing to have.

But not a good thing to put pictures of on the internet.

You can get keys cut from that number... I'd delete that pic now you know what it is if I were you.

Yes that is your SKC number that is needed to have a key cut/coded for the car. They usually get lost and it seems rare to ever get it with a used car! lol

As above... blur out/delete the picture!

...... Report back on how the stock vRS box makes your 1.2 sound.. Very intrigued by this OEM Franken-zaust..

p.s. Seriously, get the key code down ASAP..

Removed the picture with the code on as advised! Thanks for the replies about it.

I've finished college early today and have some time so gona go over to the garage and get the exhaust finished.

i'll do a recording from inside the car with no exhaust on, then one with the vrs exhaust fitted.

I did not know those seats existed.... they're the same as the vRS only black and no badging... do want.

They are very rare!

I made a thread about a month ago when i got the car asking how many were made, the result i got was around 850 iirc, so not many at all!

FFS... looks like the Bohemian had the same seats too...

TO EBAY!

Just fitted the new interior light, was simple enough to remove once i noticed the screws... :drunk:

Just remove the clear plastic from the front of the car pulling it downwards and towards the back of the car.

This should reveal 2 screws in the middle and 2 clips, one at each side. remove the screws and use a flat head screw driver to pry the clips back on each side and it should drop down with a little force. The clips were the same so plugged it in and pushed it back up

I've found a better camera rather than using my old phone... so will be using it in future! sorry for the poor quality of these....

That's a very popular mod to do as I think a lot of cars (Furby's, Ibizas and polos) came with that basic light and the one with the map lights looks a lot nicer IMO.

Update regarding the exhaust!

Put one of the hangers on no problem but the middle one will need adjusting a little bit as its not sitting perfect.

I've also made a video as promised but having some trouble with the audio, it works fine on my phone but no volume on the laptop, so pretty pointless really.... i'll upload it when i work out the bugs!

some pictures of the joints, not looking to bad really for a "OEM Franken-zaust.." :giggle:

Joint just after the silensor, normal join as standard on these exhausts.

Rear join, just beside the rear axel.

Looking really good. Think I'll be taking a few ideas from you! Out of interest do you still have the original wheels? Would you be interested in selling? I'm based in Leeds so not sure how far away you are but personally wanted a set from the sport trim.

ps thanks for your help with the display question.

Came home from work today to find a few packages in the passage. This update is just for bulbs, nothing els in the picture... yet!

Item: H7 6000k Xenon headlights

Part number: eBay Item number - 110852960811

Price: £4.09

…………………………………………………………….

Fitted these no problem, took 5 minutes if that, havnt got any pictures of them fitted yet, going to take some when its dark. I fitted them one side at a time so i could see the "new and old" look, was very happy with the bright white light.

Item: LED Lights (Number plate)

Part number: eBay Item number - 300593422228

Price: £2.48

Item: LED Lights (Interior light & map light)

Part number: eBay Item number - 290600920383

Price: £3.98

Read through alot of threads and seen people sending alot of money on led lights, then having to fit resistors etc... and still having trouble with them. oh and every thread you read has someone saying "fitting those led lights, side lights, will put your bulb failure light on"

either way, got some cheap ebay specials to see what the fuss was about, im very impressed with the result so if they fail, i will spend alot more on better ones (or getting a free set with the warranty)

They fitted fine as side lights & map interior lights with no warning lights on dash.

Also fitted other set as middle interior light and put the spare in as a reg light to see they difference, i've orderd more now!

I also used my other camera for the home pictures but forgot to take it to the garage so once again, some of them will be poor quality!

Couple of pics

img00174k.jpg

img00175i.jpg

img00176.jpg

although they look blue in the pictures, they are definitely a bright white with a very very light tint of blue

img00073201204241420.jpg

Normal bulb on the left, led bulb on the right

img00074201204241450.jpg

Please note - the interior light size is around 44mm and the reg size is around 36mm
