This project is mental! Can't wait to see it finished!! ;)

And has it got rear wheel steering, just noticed what looks like a steering arm on the rear hub carrier in your last pic? Or am I just being daft??

Like a late 80s prelude... I guess the rear hub carriers will be fully adjustable for camber, toe etc and will be done with some kind of panhard rod setup...

Our 92 prelude was supposed to be rear wheel steer but the foke that owned it before us had it removed cos it was a track car and handled better without it...

BossFox, are you keeping the rear wheel steering or getting rid of it?

mine does'nt run any hotter than 860 degrees without water/meth,765 degrees with water/meth...currently getting 352bhp at 21psi,with more to give ...it has all the right mods however...decent tip, fmic, hard pipes! they wont **** themselves if they are supported with the right parts! having said that...if i could have afforded it i would have gone billet garrett.....no brainer..but it was £2000 i did'nt have at the time!

well mapped and not boosted to hell ;-) nick rules

i think its being read into too much lol, it wont have rear steer as the prelude does with another steering rack... which was poo! it will only change the tow a small amount just to help the feel from the rear end.

It will be a link system like used on 99% of modern multi link cars, and 100% of properly built race cars.... the way i have done it is so it will have a massive range of adjustability from the rear end, so we can make it as compliant or as mad as richard wants handling wise.

The "rear steer" will be on the inward positioning of the track rod link arm, with it at its highest setting it will move at the same rate as the lower arm so wont change the tow within the range of the suspension movement, move it down from the center point it will add "rear steer", so as the lower rear arm moves up the tow link arm will be following a lower arc in the suspension travel so will pull the back of the loaded (outside) wheel in and push the back of the unloaded (inside) wheel out... thus "rear steering" ...simples

Yes I did mate, Nissan are now selling a limited number of the Juke-R for about £440k each... several to wealthy people in the Arab States.

This won't have the trick electronics or gearbox, but it'll have about 10-20% more bhp per kg. :D

Mind you, most of the Juke-R will be tuned within a month of being sold, IMO.

Ha Ha so they'll be hooning around kensington for 3 months before ramadan then annoying all the locals.waste of a GT-R IMO but takes all sorts I guess. Are you going to put a roll cage and full harneses in the go go just in case? or not 'cause you don't crash, want to keep the weight down, remain in stealth mode for longer

Got to cage it inside, as stealth as possibe.

There is no way a Citigo can handle that kind of power without twisting like a Curleywurly. :D

I was out in the GT-R today, tweaked to 600bhp it's seriously quick.

It got me thinking that I probably have not grasped just how completely bonkers this Citigo is going to be... with 10% more bhp per kg than thats got. :o

It's going to have to do testing and track days before I consider taking to the road.

Oh yeah, me having never ever done anything like you're attempting hadn't even thought of the chassis strength, though it'd be obvious to anyone who knew what they were doing I guess. Wouldn't want to bend it so the doors won't open first time you put the right pedal down.

what do you think the potential issues could be? will it just be a case of you adjusting to the extra performance and different handling etc. The go go is likely to handle well I guess, unlike the GT-R Juke?

Rich it is seriously too late for cold feet!!

I'll happily help you with the testing though.

My confidence is likely to outweigh my ability and skill but i'll happily bring a ready supply of brave pills and spare pants!

Lets just make sure the test day is somewhere big and open like Bedford rather than the tight barrier lined confines of Castle Combe!

Mainly aerodynamics, because there will be none.

But at around 1000kg (hopefully) with well set up suspension there will be less weight to control anyway.

Balance should be quite good too, with the diff and few other things in the boot.

It's certainly going to be exciting.

Jabbasport are in the process of ordering the turbo (my lips are sealed for now as I don't know if we can get it!) and all the other bits they need, as the deadline is around 11-12 weeks away and otherwise stuff just won't arrive in time.

Good news is they are still confident about finishing it on time.

Yes,

GT-R is 600bhp / 1740kg = 344.8 bhp/tonne.

Citigo goal is 400bhp / 1000kg = 400 bhp/tonne, a bit easier to work out. :D

BUT, you have to remember one has the electronics, fancy gearbox (saving 0.2 seconds per change at least), aerodynamics and everything else Nissan thought of to make it punch above it's bhp figure for a heavy car.

The other one is just mental. :giggle:

My plan is to take both to Santa Pod on the same day and do a comparison.

Same day, same conditions, with launch control on each it should be quite interesting.

Talking of mental, we've got the men in the white coats warned up ready to take you away :)

BOSSFOX, Any idea on a date for the Santa Pod trip? Would wanna come along and check them both out! Further more would like to run my VX down there once its fully mapped also, and worked that out at a tad over 300bhp/ton (assuming I dont drop a cheeky bit of nitrous on!) but with power only going to the rear wheels and alot like the citygo no fancy electric workings! I am hoping to sneak into the high 3 seconds to 60mph so would be nice to compare.

I am looking forward to seeing it used in anger, Santa Pod will be a good venue to listen to the revs build, here the turbo whistle then when it hits the limiter and a few flames bang out of the tail pipe you dump the clutch in turn making all four wheels spin like a washing machine on spin!

So the options for use, Drag racing in a straight line.

Drifting with uber power and weighing the same as an anorexic whippet, should be easy to go sideways.

Or if you can get a day in a wind tunnel and add a few wings then the track is the place for it.

In the meantime, keep an open mind, try all options before specialising.

T.spark, it'll be after Castle Combe some time.

I'll put the details here or you can always drop me a PM nearer the time.

Once the project is completed I'll keep this thread updated on what the car gets up to. :)

I don't think any wings will be added. He is trying to make it as standard looking as possible.
