  • Super. When I look at your work, I see myself ... When are the times when I was doing my Fabia ... I keep my fingers crossed that everything went well ... Here I send motivation:

It's to help get lower on the front isn't it? To clear the driveshaft. Typically cars on air do it.

From what I saw recently you cut a grove and weld in half a pipe

Yes, it's to prevent the front driveshaft touching something when lowering too much.

You'll need a plasma cutter I believe. Literally cut a notch out above driveshaft and then weld it up tidily.

Its to get the front lower dude, makes space for the driveshaft to sit into.

A hole saw is used to make the notch then half a pipe welded into the gap and the body resealed.

To get the rear lower. . Custom shorter springs? Or drop plates? You looked at either of them options?

Or the drastic option would be to to cut the bottom out of the rear spring cup and extend/weld it futher down.

looked at custom springs, £180 so may get them ordered soon. Only want in an inch / inch and a half lower. What are drop plates? Thanks for clearing the notch question up for me guys

Bottom left shows what a notch looks like ;-)

Drop plates go behind the hub and move the stub axle back slightly and up. .thus relocating the wheel lower and more in the centre (the lower you go the wheel sits forward in the arch, this solves that by moving it back) they arnt cheap tho. £250+ once youve imported some from the us.

thanks buddy :-), yeah think I'll just stick to custom springs as i can still go an inch lower on the fronts with the coilovers so there not the problem

Here's a couple of pics from dubs mania

decided that the standard bonnet needs something a little extra so bonnet vents are on there way :-)

Nice. They will look great :)

Had to be done! :D

Don't do what all the bad boys with their corsas do round my way and put a Subaru scoop on the bonnet. (Although it adds like 500bhp!)

I knew it wouldn't be. We have taste, we drive skodas! Haha. The roof vent will look just as good as the bonnet vents. Proper test car replica.

I'm looking forward to seeing it with the wrap and vents, all finished.

Please get a fantasy green wrap ;)

seem to be to many of them around at the moment though (bossfox cough cough) lol, so going to stick with the monster wrap that's if it ever arrives:-(

Only just spotted this thread, will have a proper read of it later on as I', off out soon but I NEED to see this thing in person, I only live 20mins away haha. Do you use it on the road often?

its my everyday driver southy, your more than welcome to come and take a look :-)

Woke up at 6am today so decided to have a read through this thread, just finished it now and I have to say hat's off to you fella, some fantastic work has gone into this, pure time and dedication and a bit of nerve to cut so much out of the car and put it all back together once again.

I will certainly be coming to have a look at this car at somepoint, perhaps once I have my turbo conversion fitted and take you out in my car to tempt you for more power for this beast :P

I'd be up for that southy :-)
