If you get an error you have done something wrong :)

Tried this today on a 15 plate vrs

Realised I had selected the wrong one in A5 so changed:

However it was still not working giving an error on use.

I tried resetting everything and trying again with no luck so reset everything back to original and called it a night.

First time through I had not turned the lights off, however, they were when I tied again.

Looking at the above - all of your coding is correct after you corrected it. Did you turn the ignition off and back on again between attempts and clear the error codes you would have got on the controllers from the first incorrect coding attempt?

I did switch the ignition on and off between attempts, however, the thought of clearing fault codes only occurred on the way home.

Usually I would do a full scan before and after to check for errors, however, it was dark, wet and miserable and I was running out of battery so did not do one at the end.

Thanks for checking the coding, I thought I would post it and check there was nothing fundamentally wrong before trying again.

Hey,

I've followed the steps to enable the high beam assist on my 16MY Octavia vRS but when I put my lights on I get "High Beam Assist Fault" showing on the dash.

I don't suppose anyone has any ideas do they? I've done the coding 3 different times, and a friend has tried twice as well! Any advice will be gladly received!

I've done it on my MY16 vRS and it works perfectly, I just followed the instructions (which I wrote lol)

You must be doing something wrong or not following it to the letter.....

On MY16 the only difference in the coding bit - they have changed the description in the drop down box but the coding value is still the same

couple of things

code it with doors all closed and lights set to off

after coding reset lights to factory default via your admunsen unit

HBA works when the lights are set to auto

i coded mine using obdeleven rather than vcds

Well, it's official. I've tried everything, using every step, and no matter what I do I get a light assist error! :( Going to have to give up I think! Which is really annoying as this is something I REALLY wanted, and only didn't pay for it because I thought I could activate it after.

Ah well, if anyone has any brain waves please let me know!

Looks like your only option is to come and see Andy or myself.

Are the modules all completely standard with no other tweaks (either in coding or adaptations)?

If not I'd suggest going back to std and trying again - if not then a trip to see 1 of us :-)

Yeah I think that may be the only option! Whereabouts are you based? I've spoken to Andy about popping up to him to get VIM enabled as well, so I suppose I could get two birds with one stone on that front!

Ah not too far at all then! Don't suppose you can enable video in motion as well can you?!

Unfortunately not as you need VCP for that. I'm looking into buying it but all I really need it for is to find the security access code for MY16 instruments. £250 ish is a bit pricey for just that.

Ok, wanted to code High beam assist on a new Octavia VRS yesterday, however, the module did not have label files, so no drop down menus for Byte 2 Bit0-2.

Having checked a pervious car I did I believe the only change was the 6th digit from an A to a B:

so it should be: 0F000B46C24722FB07A04082B10C07280000000000000000000000000000

Wanted to check however, before proceeding.

What a great mod, I've followed a few other and they worked first time.

Unfortunately this one is giving me trouble, all changes seem to have worked and I get the light assist option but when I tested I got an error message. Is this just because it was daylight and not dark?

No, it should not give you error message.

Recode back and try again, waiting between the coding, closing connection to each module. Lane Assist, etc. disabled. Go through this thread again and give attention to practicall experience of others.

A5 is like a woman: you have to be very delicate with it, so that it lets you change something.. ;).

question:

if i read this correct there is no need for coding if i just want to change the speed for the hba to kick in,just change the adaptations?

my my16 have hba and front assist but not lane assist. i need to lower the speed for hba to kick in.
