But the right rear fog didn't light up

And I got this error :

I guess maybe there is no led bulb in the rear right side.

  • All to do with the UDS protocol.   I don't believe you can take a back up of a scan and adaptation map with OBD11, so you don't have a reference point to go back to IF anything doesn't go to plan.

Hi. Sorry this took ages for me to reply. Here is the steps you need to take. (Hopefully the images upload in the correct order haha).

1.  Click on 09 Central Electrics

2.  Click Subsystems

3.  Click WWS371...

4.  Click Long Coding

5.  Scroll along to Byte 1 and untick Bit 4.

6.  Click green tick to confirm.

That should be you.

Awesome - thanks mate, I will give it a crack this weekend.

Did you compare the L/R clusters? I am sure the small LEDs are visible if you take a closer look.

Here. Follow the marked up screenshots.

All thanks to to whoever compiled the original VCDS sticky. All I've done is take their work and creat OBDeleven instructions. (That goes for all I've posted in here).

Sorry. Not too sure what's wrong. Not really any good at troubleshooting. I only translated the instructions to OBDeleven.

Just checked the rear clusters on my colleague's FL (also LHD). The small LEDs are visible on the left side but they are missing on the right side. The 'funny' thing is that the circuit board for the LEDs is also exist in the right cluster, I saw the solder pads for the LEDs). Bad news. :S

How bizarre.  Can't understand the logic behind that. I just assumed the light clusters were all ready to go with coding to decide what works. Certainly how it is in the U.K. as mine are both now operational. I'll probably never use them right enough haha.

I ordered a uk spec rear right cluster (part no. 5E9 945 712 A, 5E9 945 208A)to try to complete this project:cool:.

You get bonus points for commitment :)

Hi, I'm looking at getting OBDeleven to check the state of my timing chain (mark 2 F/L).

Does anyone know if the equivalent of the VCDS measuring blocks are avalaible in OBDeleven.

It is specifically block 93 that seems to be relevant in helping to diagnose a stretching chain and need for replacement  (the dreaded tensioner issue)

Any information would be welcome.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

So I've spent a long time getting this right and finally it works. Tried and tested on a 2016 vRS with Lane Assist.

Traffic Sign Assist Activation:
1. Select Control unit 5F (Information Electrical)
2. Adaptation
3. Select channel: Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2

4. traffic_sign_recognition_0x21 = change to Activated
5. Select channel: Car_Function_Adaptions_Gen2

6. menu_display_road_sign_identification = change to Activated
7. menu_display_road_sign_identification_over_threshold_high = change to Activated
8. Control unit A5 (front / advance camera)
9. Security access
10. Access Code 20103
11. Control unit Long Coding
12. Byte 1
13. Bit 0 Activate - "01 Traffic Sign Recognition (FTE) active"

14. Select Control unit 17 (Dashboard)
15. Control unit Long Coding
16. Byte 5
17. Bit 2 Activate

18. Display end of speed limit symbol in A5 adaptions
19. Control unit A5 (front / advance camera)
20. Adaptation
21. Display end of speed limit symbol

22. Important to activate: Display valid additional signs
23. View Channel Valid suffix
24. Corresponding value: 00100111.

Remember to select the Green tick at each step of the process!

High Beam Assist (for cars with Lane Assist Camera):

Ensure light switch is in the OFF position, wipers not on auto, doors closed and ignition on, before starting.
1. Select Control unit 09 (Central Electrics)
2. Control unit Long Coding
3. Byte 02
4. Bit 0-2: "03 Lighting Bi-Xenon with Light Assist"

5. Select Control unit 09 (Central Electrics)
6. Security Access Code: 31347
7. Adaptation
8. Assistance Light Functions - Menuestuerung Fernlichtassistent
9. New Value: Present
10. Assistance Light Functions - Menuestuerung Fernlichtassistent Werkseinstellung

13. Security Access Code: 20103
14. Control unit Long Coding
15. Byte 02
16. Bit 0-7: "01 coding_Light/High_beam_assist"

Optional settings

17. Controller A5 -

18. Speed that HBA active set to 20kph

19. Speed that HBA deactivate set to 10kph

20. Change lux code to 10

Finally, go into the vehicle menu on the head unit, go to light settings and select ‘light assist’

Push the left stalk towards the front of the car, it should show the HBA logo at the bottom of the Maxidot.

For this line: Do I simply need to check the boxes for Bit 0 to 2 under Byte 02 (Long Coding)?

If you click on the text next to Byte 02 it will give you a drop down menu with 3 options, select the: "03 Lighting Bi-Xenon with Light Assist" option.

Mine doesn't seem to show any drop down list at all. Hmm. Will probably check again.

Can anyone help with the following? Instructions were meant for VDCS and unclear for OBDeleven:

Drive Profile Display in Cluster
Select Control unit 19
Control unit long coding
Go to Byte 08 "Display for drive program functions in instrument cluster"
Enable Bit 4

Also, anyone got this working for MY18 Octavia?

Closing Windows When Ignition Off
Select Control unit 09 (Central Electrics)
Security access
Access Code 31347
Adaptation
---->ZV Komfort
-------->Komfortoeffnen nur FH Fahrertuer, set "active"
Confirm, code 31347
Go back
---->Schiebedach
-------->SAD Komfort oeffnen, set "active"

Traffic Sign Assist Activation:

Hi Ben,

What infotainment system do you have?

I have Bolero and just want to check if it's possible to activate, I've read that it wasn't working properly for others with Bolero system.

cheers

I've got the standard Amundsen SatNav as fitted in the Octavia vRS.

Any screen shot of these? I got through everything prior to the step #17 and got HBA enabled on my MY18 Octavia but I am unable to see any screen/commands under Controller A5 that allow the activation/deactivation speed changes. :(

Hi All,

It’s been a while since I tried my OBDEleven, and it seems there’s an issue with my account. My device had auto logged me out, and now when I try and log in it says that I need to verify my email. When I do that and click on the link in the email, a webpage comes up saying invalid verification link, and it carries on doing that no matter how many times I do it.

I wouldn’t mind, but I’m a Pro user so I’m trying to log back into that account to carry out some changes on my vehicle. Could anyone give me any advice on how to fix this? If anyone needs any more information from me, just ask!

It will dim (reduce the intensity) the DRL strip light when the indicators are on.
