    Looks awesome. I am still trying to get Iron Maiden to play in our car, by have come up against a WIFE1 issue. Seems to work fine when I remove that from the car though.

As some of you have probably realized I'm crazy about converting factory radio / navigation into Android tablet. To be more detailed: in adding Android tablet functionality into factory radio / navigation system. First time I made in in my Superb II MY12 with Columbus. Second time I added this feature to Bolero in my Fabia III. And now I have adopted Amundsen MIB STD2 infotainment system (from new Yeti) to be used in the same Superb (I was a bit tired with Columbus) and equipped wit with Android 4.4.4 module.

Disadvantage 1 - you have to change gateway (as this system has address 5F which cannot be coded in old gateway)

Disadvantage 2 - you have to find somebody who will take care of Component Protection which is not so common yet

Disadvantage 3 - you have to buy SD card with maps (goodbye old good days of updating maps at no cost in Columbus)

Disadvantage 4 - no climatronic visualisation

Disadvantage 5 - no CD/DVD reader

Advantage 1 - something new in the old car :)

Advantage 2 - it has built-in bluetooth

Advantage 3 - reverse camera can be connected without any adapters

Advantage 4 - you can probably activate and use MirrorLink/AndroidAuto (probably as I have not checked it yet)

And it's way easier to extend it with Android table funcionality comparing to old Columbus.

I will post some pictures and videos next week.

I have a Columbus is there anything I could have done with that to make it android in my superb?

Assuming you have Superb Mk2 then installation of patched MIB STD2 PQ unit will give you Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

Does anyone know if CAN gateway 7N0907530N supports module 5F?

I’m actually a Seat owner but found most info on this retrofit here. Currently have RNS510 fitted so would like to change to MIB STD2 if possible. I only have OBDEleven though not VCDS so I am not sure if I can do direct entry without module 5F being coded in.

Anyway, don't ask Pab567, he's going to want to suck you like a leech. The only language he speaks is money.
And to your question, you can perfectly use obdeleven. It depends on the radio you buy, you may not need to modify the 5F module. I recommend that you use the VAG - MIB2 telegram group. The people there are good and they will not demand money from you.

5F Byte 11: External Sound System Active

5F Adaptions: Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-amplifier -> Activated

Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-amplifier_msg_bus -> Databus Infotainment

Audio_Parameter = 1

Use VCDS head that supports UDS.

Does anyone know the fix for a GPS signal drop out a the MIB clock showing midnight all the time?  Our MIB install workeed just fine for moths and then suddenly no GPS signal lock (the maps seem to move on dead reckoning) and the radio clock is always set to midnight.

Ay help much appreciated! I have a feeling it may be a firmware update or bug with the gateway?

Hey Oli..
Don't suppose you ever found a fix for the radio clock being at midnight?
I've been happily running my MIB2 unit for ages now, but the clock thing is just such an annoying little bug! I thought it might have been resolved when I fitted a newer DAB sharkfin (I've got the roof liner off as I'm dying it black), but nope.. got me a whole load of DAB channels, but the clock still says it's permanantly midnight! :D

Couldn't find a way to edit my post, so thought I'd just reply. The issue is the SW version on the MIB.. it needs to be a 4xx version basically.

Two questions regarding these MIB STD2 PQ units:

  1. Are map upgrades still supported? Anybody know for how long?

  2. There is almost no space behind the head unit. Where to put this massive quadlock adapter?

Its tricky with the quadlock adapter. It took me half an hour to fit it on the left side deep behind retrofitted mid std2 pq in superb 2010.

Regarding map upgrades. No idea. Industry has switched long time ago from built in navigation to do it via phone:

1) waze for online maps

2) other apps for offline maps.

Does anyone have a link to the MST2_EU_VW_PQ_R0604T firmware?

I'm trying to update my MID STD2 with Nav (680B) currently running 0480T.

I have a Superb L&K 2015 MK2 with Columbus 3T0035686L infotainment system. It's starting to live it's own life, turning on and off at random. Would the MIB STD2 PQ 5L0035680E unit be the best option for me? My country (Norway) is mostly DAB. But where do you buy these units? I'm having a hard time finding it.

Hi @pab567 ,

I have been searching options to install an MIB STD2 in my car.

It is a Skoda Fabia mk2 (5j) year 2014.

I see that many people had installed in octavia, superb, but nothing regarding the little one from the brand.

My car has originally a Bolero, left steering wheel controls, rear parking sensors and bluetooth module under the seat for calls.

Is my gateway supporting this update? (what I read here... module 5F ready)

What do I need for installation or is it just plug&play. I guess a 40 to 52 pin adaptor.

Saw some options in the market but also open if you can offer me a good solution as well. I trust a lot what you are doing here.

This is my gateway info

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply.

Will I face any problem in terms of accessories I have or will all work smoothly?

Second, do you sell any unit?

I have no clue what accessoried you mean... for sure you will need QuadLock adapter, USB port and if you don't have then microphone as well

These accessories:

I have microphone (my car has the Bluetooth module under the seat) will the system work as before when I install MIB std2?

Rear parking sensor. Will I see in screen the car and sensors changing color with proximity?

Steering wheel controls. Will they work properly?

USB adapter, I have already.
