Exhaust POP sound / DSG pop when gear shift up/down

is there one part or several parts to mod/tune to get the exhaust pop,

just a tune, or just a sports downpipe swap?

thanks

I find a tin of Heinz Baked Beans works for me and probably the cheapest mod.:notme:

Aldi or Lidl beans are cheaper than Heinz so an even cheaper mod.

A colleague of mine has a Golf R facelift (7.5) with the DSG7 box. It pops/farts on upshifts very nicely.

The original Mk 7 Golf R (6-speed DSG) will also pop / etc but only in Race Mode, &/or with the shifter in "S".

We don't bother, 'tis a bit childish at our age (OAP's)........

Personally I'm happy mine doesn't have 'chav' mode ;) lol I like that I can even turn the fake sound off in individual mode for what I call half sport mode.. normal steering, comfort sound and throttle and dsg in sport

Which of the soundaktor modes is quietest? Comfort or Eco?

I have it running in comfort which sounds quiet enough to me, not sure I saw any eco sound mode. To be honest I'd have to listen carefully to know for sure. Recently been running in normal and knocking the dsg to sport on the selector which achieves almost the same thing.

Everything in SPORT for me except the steering set to normal because SPORT STEERING is just too heavy to be any benefit. Don't mind the fake sound actuator because can't really hear it with the Airtec cone filter hissing away and the 3" Milltek exhaust.:tongueout:

Can't hear it anyway. Agreed on the steering  on normal for day to day

Love the sound of the turbo spooling.

Hi all, regarding modes and sound etc.  Just went for a drive with my lad and I put it in sport which I dont do that often.  Just to give him and me a bit of fun!  I turned a corner gave it a blast and I got a pop from the exhaust and a mechanical sounding noise from under the car.  Any idea what this was?  Didnt get any warning lights or anything and drove fine.  btw I have a manual

Before my recent first service when I booked the car in sometime in December 2018 the nice lady asked me if I wanted a new battery in the key fob. I declined thinking works just fine. Go to start the car today with Driver 1 key and message flashed up between the dials stating "KEY FOB BATTERY NEEDS REPLACING". How ironic is that 3 days after the service or did they program that message to pop up just to P*SS me off. Anyway can't be bothered to go back to the dealer (20 mile round trip) so have used the same key I gave them earlier in the week for servicing purposes. So now I am greeted by the message DRIVER 3 when I fire up the beast. This has happened after using the original key for 512 days and 509 hours driving time, just so you have some advanced warning of a similar episode with your 245's. Current mileage 18,622.

My Dyno run after chiptuning:

full

full

@339 pk and 462nm :D

Is the 338.6PS or bhp because mine made 335.9bhp or 340PS but either way well done and a good result for all your mods. Top speed in Germany will be similar to mine 283kph (177mph).

Well after 2 days at Skoda my car is back and they've done nothing!

I gave them a shopping list of issues:

Roof console noises:

Every lump and bump in the road causes the roof to make a creaking and cracking noise. I think its the roof console plastic or cables within.

They couldn't hear roof console creaking and cracking......so now I have to book in again so I can go out with technician. Great more time off work. As soon as I drove off their lot to come home roof noise started.

Passenger door buzzing:

They could hear buzzing from passenger door but because I've fitted car cameras, so have removed "panels" and added cables, I have to remove everything to rule it out as the cause. Really?! Do they not think I already checked this myself. And I removed the side panel to release glove box. Its designed to be taken on and off and is flush with dash.

Start/Stop system error:

Start/Stop randomly throws up error and always shows power consumption too high. Technicians notes say they could see an issue with battery adaptions ("lost battery adaptions") and re-adapdted? No change, issue persists.

Front Passenger door handle:

You have to fully extend door handle to open it which is different from every other door on my car which only take a small pull to release. Technician "tested door handle compared to good known vehicle and at time of test was unable to fault operation". So just completely ignore my request to adjust it then.

Circles on windscreen:

Technician agreed with the theory marks on windscreen are from suction cups from factory fitting but doesn't think it's scratches or etched. Didn't attempt to polish windscreen despite claiming they would "go away". Notes: "Compared to another new vehicle and I can confirm this is not a fault as the compare vehicle is identical". So just because Skoda are potentially churning out cars with marked glass this is not a fault or error despite agreeing it was done at factory. None of my other windows are marked. None of my previous cars were marked. This is or an acceptable response.

So I'm now going to take it up with Skoda main customer service/complaints. It's fair to say I'm not impressed with the lack of service.

It says on the dyno plot CV which is another way of saying metric horsepower see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horsepower?wprov=sfla1

Sorry to hear you appear to have one of those Friday afternoon cars. Wife's previous car a 3 year old Rapid had a roof centre console noise develop just before we traded it in for her current Karoq and it sounded like a marble was rattling around under braking and acceleration. Something must have worked loose and it was very annoying. It was like the car knew it was being disposed of and was complaining.:@

Not sure if this is the thread for this question or not but hey! This is my first properly quick car (to me anyway!), what’s the best way of building confidence for driving quickly but safely, getting to know how quickly to take corners and so on?

I've sent you a PM on this

It's frustrating. Also I can't work out how to adjust door handle myself or how to remove roof console so I can try and fix myself - warranty be damned!

Has anyone had their 245 on PCH? Just wondering what deals people managed to find if so.

He has to mean that.. You wouldn't be PCHing a second hand car.

@Turkleton Yes mine is a MY19 245 on PCH. I don't want to be accused of advertising/breaking any rules so PM me and I'll point you to the broker I used and I'm happy to answer questions this way.
