Updated mine, 2 hours to download, just under an hour to unpack and move to SD, an hour to update.

Just done the update & noticed a potential problem in the actual maps. Currently the Lincoln Eastern By-pass is under construction, the projected date for the completion & opening is currently May 2020. However, going by the updated maps it would appear that the by-pass is completed & I would assume that means it is incorporated into any route planning.

A huge THANK YOU to @JR RS for mentioning the VW portal earlier in this thread. I have tried several times to update the mapping on my Kodiaq (Columbus Infotainment system) and failed every time with the system refusing to recognise the software when I attempted to do the update in the car. That was having downloaded the software 4 times and tried various ways to update. I am running a Mac and did have some suspicions that may be the problem. The instructions on the Skoda website are, in my opinion, poor and incomplete.

I followed the link to the VW portal however and saw that there is an app named VW Discover Care which I downloaded and chose the VW Passat/Discover Pro option which I believe is essentially the same as the Columbus in my car. It was very clear with instructions, had a Mac option and even automatically formatted the SD card before beginning the download. I have a fast internet connection but it still took 4 hours to download at 100% speed option (there is a 50% option if you want to carry on with other internet surfing). Discover Care also has an option which checks for available updates and I presume advises when one is available. Hope that helps others going through the same pain!!! Thanks again JR RS. Looks like it's one behind, from November last year. Latest is 2019/20, available from May this year.  Looks like this.

Just tried downloading but it gave up on 45% saying there was a problem and program needed closing. Frustrating.

I had the same with the 19/20 download. Just keep persevering and it will work.

Neither, I used the VW link from Martin2. I will try the others.

Just checked on the skoda portal, using my VIN number and it reckons there are no updates...but my maps are all 2016 version... any ideas?  Is it genuine there are no updates for this unit? 

I got the same message for mine.

Maybe the portal is down.

Set the update going as I left the car park on the way home. Only a short drive home so spent the final 30 minutes sat on the drive in the rain waiting for it to complete 😁

You didn't have to, it would carry on the next time you started the car.

My update worked fine as well.

I'm beginning to think I may have had the card in the wrong way round. I have a mini SD card in a USB adaptor which is also mini and it is possible to put it in the wrong way.
