What have you done to your Superb III today?

Featured Replies

Yep, I’ve got one Premier express so that should turn up in a week /a month / three months …. whenever, 😆 i’ve just bought a cheap pack of the rods to pull the cables through or at least pull a cord from the front of the car to the back through the headlining and then I can pull the two cable straight through to the dash cam and then run it down alongside the rest of the cables from the roof headlining/ interior lights down to the glove box

I wasn’t sure about the aerial, so it might have been something stupid like when I called the glovebox unit out to check the model might loosen something, but reading some of the posts seems as problems we walk getting in and the amplifiers in the roof but I’ll have a look at that later … about 2 o’clock in the morning when I get home…. I think this is where I miss some of the steps, cause I’m too bloody knackered for it to all sink in 😜🤪.

If you want more bass you could always do something like this…

@Binx1310 "Getting there finally. Got a few more fix up jobs and cosmetic thing to do. Then I’m deleting AliExpress app!"

oh I see so you’re gonna be stop because you’ve reached the end of all the bits you think you can do on yours so you’re gonna try and palm me off onto somebody else’s build … 🥹 😜🤪

Yes that. And also the extension on our house is nearly complete so time and funds will be diverted to that!

@Binx1310 ” the extension to my house is nearly complete” 🤔🤔 I can’t remember reading anything about a triple underfloor heated garage ?? 🤔😜

As usual, I didn't do anything to my car but it has done something which means I will need to do something!

Anyway, ESC fault, adaptive cruise, SS, park pilot, etc unavailable warnings came up earlier. Last time it did so (I think more faults than just speed related like this time) was battery.

This time I reckon it is ABS sensor. Will find out with a scan soon!

Sounds about right. Similar situation for me a few weeks ago. Christmas tree of dashboard warning lights turned out to be be 2 x ABS sensors front & back. Expensive bill at independent VAG garage.

I am half contemplating DIY. Or getting my local garage to just do the sensors if I manage to scan it and have confidence it's the sensor problem. Will see. I thought I am in no hurry but then the rear park sensors don't work and I need it....

nice work @Binx1310 ! Im glad my tips helped a bit

The car looks magnificent. What are the wheel dimensions (diameter, offset, rim depth)?

They do look utterly lovely. But looking at the first pic, and the profile of the wheels to tyres, my Mrs would utterly ruin those rims in a New York minute.

wheels are 9x20 ET37, tyres 235/35

you dont let your wife/gf drive on these kind of wheels :D my wife never drove Superb without me in it, she is affraid to scratch it as its too big for her. She drives Opel Adam :D

Well I’ve finally been able to start on the Superb, finally got the old number plates off and the 2 ton of double sided tape before fitting the number plate surrounds and Personal Plates 😜 then updated the Gracenote, the maps and the radio station logos, tried to work out how to use XOR calculator, and couldn’t make head or tail of it so gave up and went to look for some migraine tablets 😖🤪 IMG_4492.jpeg

I noticed this lil sod in here

IMG_4491.jpeg

Haven’t got a clue how to get him out…IMG_4519.jpeg

And I’ve got 2 of these…. Hopefully one will fit into the armrest and the 2nd into the ashtray at the back of the centre console, ,, can’t remember if these are normal or fast chargers but the cable (from Aliexpress is a red plug with only 2 pins used ( no other pins in the plug)

You only want Charge With it?

If you have carscanner app for coding then you don’t need xor calculator as it seems to be built in. Seemed to just clear the fault for me.

If not @JR RS has some info in his software update guide on how to use it.

Reading the installation change

Open this page:

https://xor.pw/#

Take the first value from the readout

Take the second value, C9D2

Enter the new value for the installation change, apply the adjustment, the value reverts, clear the fault memory

Auslesen der verbau Änderung

Diese Seite öffnen:

https://xor.pw/#

Erste Wert vom auslesen nehmen

Zweite Wert C9D2 nehmen

Neuen Wert bei der Verbauänderung eintragen, Anpassung übernehmen, Wert springt zurück, Fehlerspeicher löschen

Thank you @Cairus

@Binx1310 ive got Hex-net but when reading @JR RS guide it showed “confirmation of installation change” 6c35 in the picture and then 30c5 and c9d2 in the text and I couldn’t work out where the 3 came from 🤪😖 I blame all the fumes trying to get the tape off the front bumper

The input values in the how-to-guide r just examples.

Every car has a different first input value.

The second input value is always "c9d2".

Glad u got it in the end.

Yep thanks @JR RS your guide helped a lot it was just I thought the image with 6c35 in the picture was from your car and I couldn’t work out where 30c5 came from and didn’t understand that c9d2 was a default value

But that’s one thing with the people on this forum, always prepared to help and with all the different time zones and knowledge there is always some one to help

There’s not much I haven’t been able to find on the forum in old posts and when there’s not something existing there’s people who know and are willing to help. Love this place!

i have the same spider in my left taillight !

If it’s in the outer section on the car rather than the tailgate then they are pretty easy to remove.

Open tailgate. Pull off plastic side cover. Undo 2x Torx and pull light cluster backwards. Disconnect wires.

You can then remove the two bulbs and do some shaking and blowing and you might be lucky to remove it.

I had a ladybird in mine and managed to get it out.

I have a moth in mine, and a huge caterpillar crawled out of the headlining on the first warm day after I got the car.

No amount of shaking the tail lamp would shift the moth, the caterpillar made its own way out. I wonder if they were related...
