Chucked a bucket of water over it. Three hours later this is the result.         Happy with that

I removed the front mud-flaps that the car came with, that I neither liked nor had I any particular use for. Fortunately, they were held in place just by 3x T25 screws which are all accessible without removing anything, as long as you've got a short ratchet.

Now you see them:

Now you don't:

What exactly did you dislike about them?

I ask because I'm considering getting them fitted to my black Superb when it arrives in July.

I simply don't think mud-flaps have a place on a sleek, sporty saloon like the 272 Sportline. Maybe I wouldn't mind them so much on an Estate which is of a more utilitarian nature, but on the saloon they break the overall smoothness for no apparent reason in my eyes. Regardless of aesthetics, I also don't have an actual need for them so 0/2 and it was an easy decision to delete them, especially as they are not an integrated part of the body but simply screwed on.

Why wouldn't yours have them as stock?

I always thought mudflaps were extra. Remember playing around on UK configurator and it is extra anyways. My used sportline came with it and I don't really notice it. Maybe because it's a white car and the black just blends into background lol.

Fitted new boot liner from RhinoBootLiner

They make them to order to fit the car, couldn't find one that would fit the hatchback (all too short) but this one fits almost perfect (well it would do if I was more capable), I need to smooth it out a bit

A little pricey but it covers all the boot. and has padded base, flap over rear seat, Headrest covers + door cover as well

  • 2 weeks later...

Took advantage of the good weather to give the car a good clean, de tar and wax. Capuccino Beige is not a great winter colour, doesn't look it's best in dull light, but in sunshine it's a different car.

I took a "chair" to an elderly relative today, assembled and in its box. Never needed to put the back seats down.

I can now officially state that my saloon  hatch is commodious.

Are they alright?

Dad jokes aside, I’m excited to actually have boot space once Olga arrives on Saturday, I’ll just need to find an excuse to ferry around chairs to elderly relatives to make good use of it.

Fitted new exhaust system to my sportline 220 today! Thanks from @drewellis for the exhuast!!  Hated the fake exhausts on the 220.

@Adrian55555 Good work! They look quite OEM and remind me a bit of the Octavia VRS

Excuse me for not grasping the humour there! I was post nightshift

A grand age sir! I hope you have another present for the car lined up in that case?!

Haha thats ok =)  im thinking of a maxton diffuser to go between the exhausts! Not 100% sure yet. Does anyone here have a 280/272 with one fitted? Does it just stick to the existing diffuser underneath in the gap?

I've had one put on mine and had the entire textured exhaust surround painted gloss black to match, and luckily (according to the body shop who carried out the work), I did, as it the 3m tape it comes with isn't anywhere near man enough to hold it!

I really like it though now it's on and finishes off the rear properly and subtly. I also have the Maxton V2 front splitter.

Yes as the maxton diffuser comea gloss black, painting the entire lower section gloss black to match makes sense. Any chance of some pics please so i can see how it looks. Ta
