  • I had so many spontaneous reboots this week with even 4 occurring on the same day that the infotainment system was practically unusable. That’s why I decided to go ahead and install 1941 yesterday.

Hi, I'm new here. Thanks for all your infos but I have to ask if I can update my Skoda Octavia 1.5 Gtec year 07/2021 to the latest firmware.

Is it supported from my hardware?  Can someone send me the link? Thanks

I have restarts

@Murdoch71 @MikeAPW

Ciao guys, I'll send you the link and you can use it on your own risk of course.

Anybody else still in need? I kinda lost the overview here^^

Today i received update to 1941 by dealership in Slovenia. I had showed them TPI and they said that they have this TPI also and that they will update it and we will see if there will be any random reboots.

Hi @UrgyMcKnispelI need 1941 firmware also.

Thanks.

@omadon

You'll have it in a minute.

Update done in 20 minutes on my Octavia.

I will try soon and give you the feeback.

Thanks to all for the support!

By the way, guys. I guess here won't be many people with old SW to compare, but while my car was with 1668, the Skoda app was working much better. Less issues with connection to the car, everything was faster and car reacted on commands immediately. Since I'm on 1941, it is trash again and it barely works. Same as was on 1986. Anyone noticed the change?

You may need to have a hardware update as well as software.

How long does this update take to do yourself?

Can anyone provide the link and instructions please?

Currently on 1900 with frequent reboots, only had the car a week and its driving me crazy

Thanks

I'm sure many of us need. But who would like to pay for such upgrade? Definitely not Skoda :giggle:

How old is the car? If it's under 3 years it could be done under the warranty, over 3 then it will be putting your hand in your pocket and paying for it yourself I'm afraid.

Ultimately it depends on how long you intend to keep the car.

Reading this thread with interest. Having bought my 21 plate SE L in September last year I was initially very smug that the car didn't appear to suffer from the usual niggles. However, in the last few months I've experienced the frequent (daily) reboots of the system, including FOUR reboots in 5 minutes last night. I've also noticed that the reboot seems to result in the ACC undertaking/overtaking bug which I hadn't experienced in the previous 9 months of owning the car.

I'm going to pursue the 1941 update under warranty (anyone experience of the Coventry dealership?) but has anyone else experienced the ACC issue and know if the 1941 update resolves it? I do a LOT of motorway driving and the ACC is a really important feature for me.

Thanks

Yup. Same here. Was happy with 1896 for ages, then the undertaking bug restarted with traffic sign recognition and nav gone. All fixed and back to perfect Octy hybrid again with 1941. To other newbies the very well written instructions are all in this thread page 26 from TheWanderer. Once downloaded from those who are hosting this, again read the thread not just the last page, it’s a 20 min job to regain a very well behaved car

I don't think the MiB software has an impact of ACC and other assistants since most of this stuff is managed by discrete components. There might be an open TPI regarding optimizing the camera with a different service setting or software, can't remember the details.

@UrgyMcKnispelwould you be able to send me the link please

I think that the reboot is caused by Android auto that crashes the infotainment !

I will terst it during holidays because it is boring to have multiples reboot

Carplay here and I had the issues.

its not related to AA.

its a bug that comes with 188x and 189x

For me and many others reboots started after one of the "little OTA" updates, 1896 worked fine for quite some time before.

You wouldn’t think so would you. But I’ve experienced the exact same complaint. After the MIB reboots the ACC thinks it’s in a right hand drive country.

It might not actually be data from the MIB, but a result of the CAN bus being locked up and it resets back to default.

There is an entry on the TPI for 1941 that specifically calls out UK skus and ACC.

Yeah that's probably possible If the mib can't maintain normal operation, reboots and loosing it's handshake to other systems.

Hi @UrgyMcKnispelI need 1941 firmware also.
