  • Hello from Latvia! I also bought a Škoda Superb L&K 2.0TSI 4x4 (delivered in May 2024). Everything was fine until October 2024 (I drove around 5000 km at that point). I got 7 warnings related to

  • My wife's Superb was updated a week ago on 2nd December and there have been no problems since. She drove 320 miles at the weekend and all was well.   She's finally starting to enjoy the car

  • I got my car back yesterday,  33 miles on, no problems.  I know that is not far, but went wrong after 10 miles when I got it . So, let's hope,  fingers crossed!

I think you cannot change it there, you have to get to the view where in the middle of the virtual cockpit these consumption data is displayed, use the right scroll wheel there and select the one you want and then go back to your preferred view

Thank you!!! I had checked every option but did not think that view was scrollable. That is some weird interface choice from Skoda. Also no mention of it in the manual. Anyway, thank you again, it was driving me crazy :)

Hi guys. I am new to this forum and i am driving a new 2024 Superb Iv. Have done around 2000 miles and all seems ok apart from the self charge settings. I wonder if anyone has tried the self charge function where the petrol engine can be set to charge the battery to a preset level manually? When i go to the battery page in mine and set to manual the charge bar comes up with the + and - arrows but the setting does not move even though i can hear the "click" noise? Maybe another software issue showing up?

Cheers

I can reduce the value, but cannot extend above the current charge. Its a pity, because the car doesnt even maintain the exact charge in manual mode and preheating is limited to above 25% charge. So I miss this feature too

Thanks for reply. Haven’t charged it yet so will try it out. But sounds like a pain if cannot be set above the current charge level. Cheers

I have found setting it to manual charge and then driving in 'S' mode, will maintain the charge and very slowly charge the battery - but at the cost of higher petrol consumption than in 'D' mode. The charging is so slow though (about 5 kms of charge per hour), I don't consider this a useful feature.

Last month, I received a message from the dealer asking me to go to the service center for a software update. I plan to go this month, but I have a question and would like to get more details.

I noticed that those who have already gone to the dealer for the update did not get the infotainment system updated. Specifically, they still have version 2460.

What bothers me the most is that when I use CarPlay and adjust the climate controls or driving modes, the screen goes black. This issue has been resolved starting with version 2565.

My car was manufactured at the end of August, and I’ve driven 9,000 km so far. I’m very satisfied with the car and haven’t had any problems until now. However, a few times, the dashboard assistant lights turned on but quickly went off. In recent days, the Kessy system has been working intermittently. Specifically, the doors lock when I touch the handles, but they don’t unlock. This might be because the car was quite dirty.

So, is there anyone with a car manufactured before August who has version 2460 and went to the service center for an update? Did they get upgraded to a newer version?

Below is my system Information,  I picked my car up in July and had multiple problems.  Since update car seems to be OK. Only 2 weeks so a lot can still go wrong

Yes, that’s exactly what I was saying: the infotainment software remained the same, and they didn’t update it. I don’t understand why…

Cars manufactured from September onwards come with version 2565 or newer, and, as shown in the attached picture, the black screen issue has been resolved.

Could the bells be the speed warning! The EU in their wisdom have insisted all new cars sold after June have to have an audible warning if you exceed the speed limit.

Luckily, in the UK anyway,  you  can turn it off.  The wheel button o the right hand side of the steering wheel. Unfortunately you have to turn it off each trip

Happy and errorfree New Year!

It is not speed warning, because it says: side assist, front assist, parking and exit assist, etc.

.

Tomorrow will I visit the garage at the Skoda dealer.

That is the software fault. The car needs the update.  Keep us informed

Had the update a month or so ago.  Had the odd warning that cleared. Done my second longer journey and had the sequence of warnings again. Managed to clear them after turning the ignition off and back on several times.

Getting a bit fed up now. Seems I have two options- get Skoda Assist to confirm the errors and let the car go to my local garage pending another update and take a courtesy car meanwhile or reject the car as it’s around 3 months old with an issue I’ve allowed them to try and fix and which hasn’t. My problem is I’ve no idea what alternative I would get and I got an excellent price through Drive The Deal.

Thanks for that,  depressing isn't it! I had my update 3 weeks ago, I get the odd warning that clears itself after a minute or 2. Not had the full Christmas tree effect yet

Update from me.. so everything was going fine after the software update until today...
On the first trip a bunch of assistant errors appeared (all related to the camera as usual, the trip was quite short, like 7mins).
On the next trip (30mins after first) the car got stuck in an error loop: Emergency assist not available => Lane assist not available => everything fine (rinse & repeat every fckng minute car just beeps, so annoying). This continued for the whole trip until the nearest gas station where I just re-connected fuse 22 (as in the middle of the road I stopped to restart the car and it didn't help) and then error was gone.
I’m just disappointed..

Got back home after a three hour trip where all the assist functions had errors after 1 hour. Sooo annoying. I’ve had Skoda Assist out and they’ve logged the errors and I’ll take it in tomorrow and get a hire car. As long as the hire car is acceptable I’ll let them keep mine for up to a month or so but then will have to look at rejecting it.  I still don’t know what I’ll get as a replacement vehicle though as nothing matches the price I paid or the features.

I also just got the assist updates and when they called that the car is ready, I forced them to look up the infotainment sw version and it also says 2460, with the carplay bug still present. I asked them to try to get hold of a newer software for that too, but I don’t have high hopes 😞 I noticed that the part number also differs on the newer versions, but next step is reaching out to skoda dev center if this doesn’t produce any fruit.

When I picked up my car in July, the radio did not work unless the Infotainment was reset every time. I had to press and hold the button in front of the screen for 15 secs.

Eventually a new part had to be ordered from the factory,  a 10 week  wait.

Skota technical department know about this fault

I took the car to the brand service on Friday. They wanted to download=read out logs, and that's what the appointment was for. But nothing happened because it turned out that the front of the car would need to be "dismantled" in order to access something that’s there. However, my appointment was with an electrical mechanic who doesn't dismantle things, so after a whole day at the service, I got the car back completely without results. They would need 2-3 working days to do that.

I read now a hungarian consumer site, about Octavia Mk4. Many disappointed texts from 2020-2024 about the same issues about assistansts (assasinations :))  and infotainment issues.  So Skoda knows this for years....

.

If somebody can read hungarian, or Google helps to translate:

From one on the list, chatGPT translation. 2021.06.24, Octavia:

.

Surgical success, patient passed away...

The design of the entire system is fundamentally flawed because most of the functions you need are accessible with 2-3 button presses... the impression is that you're constantly messing with menus instead of looking at the road.

Driver assistance systems... the lane-keeping assist immediately turns off, intervenes abruptly, works poorly, and is uncomfortable overall. Fortunately, it's relatively simple to turn it off because there's a dedicated button on the steering wheel.

Collision warning also works randomly... sometimes it does nothing when stopped at a traffic light, and other times it warns of a collision when a car is turning... no joke, the icon is quite frightening. Fortunately, we haven't experienced random braking yet.

Out of frustration, I started a photo collection of the error messages the onboard system throws up... because it throws plenty of them, like seat exit sensors, Bluetooth, wireless charging, front assist, side assist, etc. there's always something popping up.

The dealer, by the way, is completely correct, and their attitude is good; obviously, they can’t do anything if the product they are selling is flawed. They keep pushing 2-day software updates on the car... but most of the problems are either not fixed or cannot be fixed because the system’s fundamental structure is bad.

In conclusion, in this form, I can't recommend this car to anyone. As a car, it delivers the quality we've come to expect, but the customer experience, overall, is terrible. 😞

Due to the stuttering, improper functions, people often have strong negative feelings towards the car. It's hard to decide whether I hate the car more, or the manager who lets such a piece of junk out.

Car been in dealership for 2 days. They’ve been told by Škoda Technical to recalibrate the assist systems. I’ve got zero confidence this will resolve anything as I would imagine they were recalibrated when they put the software update on in Dec.

I just got my car back, with the feedback that there is no newer infotainment software available fot my car for the service center to install. If I believe there is a newer version (based on the posts here there is, however the part number is also newer), I shall reach out to the importer and then to the factory… Weird, but I will try to do it regardless. Will lett you all know if something useful comes out of it, until then I have to refrain from changing temperature near crazy intersections 🥲
