I have just received this email from Skoda in the Czech Republic:

thank you very much for your email. We deeply understand your frustration. Till these days Skoda have been intensively working on the correction of the software. We are very sorry for the time you have been waiting. Let us explain why it has taken the time. The issue resulted very complex, affected more control units therefore the whole issue required more time than other tests. Now the software is ready. Kindly check the availability of the your preferred workshop for the update.

Hello. Thank you so much for your response. After your info, I called dealer service for the new software (I’m from Turkey by the way), they confirmed that the new software has arrived today. But it will be ready to load for the next week or the later.

I wonder that if you contact with any service to load the new software or not. Could you/anybody please write an update for the process. I hope it will fix all problems.

I’m looking forward to good news 🙂

  • Hello from Latvia! I also bought a Škoda Superb L&K 2.0TSI 4x4 (delivered in May 2024). Everything was fine until October 2024 (I drove around 5000 km at that point). I got 7 warnings related to

  • My wife's Superb was updated a week ago on 2nd December and there have been no problems since. She drove 320 miles at the weekend and all was well.   She's finally starting to enjoy the car

  • I got my car back yesterday,  33 miles on, no problems.  I know that is not far, but went wrong after 10 miles when I got it . So, let's hope,  fingers crossed!

I contacted my dealer as soon as I received the email from  Skoda CZ.  They haven't received anything from the factory yet but hope it comes soon

Hi all. This is my third Superb and took delivery 10 days ago. SE L hatch. Generally an improvement almost everywhere on previous two versions, except for all these errors.

Thank you for letting me read all the way back to when this started. Raised a complaint with Skoda but I have a short time left to reject the car which I think I am going to do. This puts me in a situation I didn't want but better than spending ££££ on something that might or might not be fixed soon

While it's easier to reject within the first 30days you can reject up to 6 months from purchase if it's due to a fault. The level of "fault" that could lead to a rejection isn't defined but as these are numerous safety features that are advertised as part of the car you would have a strong case. I'm also two months into ownership but have an eye on the six months dateline. Also recent posts suggest the software fix is on its way to dealers.

Why can they not just do over the air? It works for some of their other software updates. My "old" 2023 SIII tells me occasionally that new upgrades are available.

The important question to me is why are Skoda still selling these cars when they KNOW they are faulty?

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone has had any success with the software update to fix the issues, which was promised a few days ago now from Skoda?

I am told by my dealer and Skoda UK the software update is due to be released on Monday 2nd December

Same info from my dealer today in Hungary. "known software issue by manufacturer and it will be fixed via some future update" but no ETA yet. Quite sad they cant just fix it via some over the air update.

Any update on this? Wondering if they have done anything since then. Hu here, too.

Skoda UK and my UK dealer says the update comes out today. I am waiting to see!

Does anyone know if this update will be available over the air of if it will require a visit to the dealer to sort? Many thanks

Dealer only. Someone said it took 6 hours to be loaded.

Pleased to report a visit to a dealer last week cured the issues... but not for long.

I'm not sure if this should be it's own thread but 12v issues all the time are now said to be a known issue with a run of duff batteries. I've had a new one. Not going to say that issue is conclusively fixed yet, but it's stopped dinging at me all the time. It's only been 2 days tho.

Dealer had also cleared the christmas tree on the dash. By chance I'd ignored the software update the screen had offered me since I got it back. Wondering if it was *the solve*, I accepted it at lunch time when i went for a butty. I got back in it to drive home from work... and this software update has immediately bricked it, again. Perhaps dealer ought to have told me to ignore the software update prompt?

Thankfully the dealers have offered to quickly fix it, again, while I wait, whenever I can get to them. Which is good of them.

In the meantime if you've got a working car and it offers you software version 3.7.21... ignore it at all costs!

Please tell me this issue is now sorted!  I have the mk3 at the moment and love it but I’m off to a dealership to test drive a 2024 SE L estate (registered Aug 24).  😳

Thank you.  The dealer today told me they have the software update but the car I’m going to see is in a long queue, the person who purchased it in august gave up waiting!  I think they are making these cars to reliant on software!

I’m getting cold feet now…………. I think if I commit to buying it I’ll get something in writing to say if the fix fails I get a full refund.

Excellent idea. I picked my superb up in July on a Friday and returned it on Monday.  It has been there ever since, I have been given a courtesy car.

I have only driven it 10 miles since July

Christ, that is unbelievable, I hope they gave you an equivalent courtesy car and will compensate you!  I admire your patience…..

My wife's SE Tech Estate had the software update applied yesterday. She picked it up a couple of hours ago and drove 25 miles home with no issues. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

Great to hear.  I am waiting to hear from my dealer

My dealer contacted me to arrange for software update. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. They could do it sooner  but I decided to get it done at the same time as first service as it's been working fine since they did "the reset" a few weeks ago (also dealer is 50 miles away).

RIght now I'm happy that they contacted me !

I called my dealer today to arrange the software update.  Could only offer end of Jan. I moaned saying we would be driving distances at Christmas and didn’t want the systems to fail plus having had a Seat before (same garage) told them their appointment availability is terrible so I will contact Skoda and reject the vehicle. Amazingly they found an appointment for next week. Someone mentioned it takes 6 hours. Is this other people’s experience as if it is they say they want it two days.

My car was in the workshop for most of the day....but...the dealer says:... currently getting an error message displayed (on the factory system not the car) when we reach a certain point of the update.

saga continues
