  4. Just recently changed the front brakes on my superb, and noticed that both the inner and outer pads had circles on them showing they had been in contact with the brake cylinder. Also shows paint from when callipers were painted so must have been in the wrong position when that was done. someone had put the outer in the inner position and vice versa. And then at some point they had been swapped round and installed correctly. Easy to do on the left if you don’t read the instructions so I thought. What’s more confusing is on the right side it was the same. This side has the wear indicator and the wire isn’t long enough to install on the wrong side. So is this a mark from the cylinder or something else. 🤔 I wonder if part worn brake pads being put into different position might be what created the brake wobble?!
  5. Most likely outbound trip was against the wind and the return journey was with the wind. That, plus variations in traffic and driving style could easily account for your mgg difference. Different fuel would only have a very minor impact, if any at all.
  6. Today
  7. Hello, greetings from the Czech Republic. I managed to buy a 65/100 originally from GB. Octavia is in good hands, it will gradually improve. I use google translate, so hopefully everything is understandable.

  9. Yes, he tried to clear it. But after a restart and it came back up.
  10. So, I got this from ODBEleven. No modifications were done, as far as I know. Does anybody have experience with such error? 11. There were two different systems made by different manufacturers. You need the right parts according to which system you have. The only difference in the part numbers is the suffix letter, which is important. You have written only the base part number. I will message you asking for your VIN, which will allow me to look up which system you have, and so which is the correct, full part number.
  12. Just a coincidence. I get similar mpg on supermarket fuel.
  13. Wrong Information 85% the GPS Antenne is damage. You can check it With a good Diagnose Tool by unit 75
  14. The 80km/h speed restriction is only relevant if the tyre sizes don't match. Many Fabia MK3 owners will have tyres sizes different from 185/60R15, such as 215/45R16...so in that case the 80km/h speed restriction would be relevant. If you want, you can remove the yellow speed restriction sticker as it's not relevant to this car.

  18. I tried to record the rattling today. It is better to listen on smartphone than pc. Do you guys think that are lose pads?
  19. It's because it is a steel wheel, not alloy!
  20. I have a Samsung phone and my wife iPhone and both work perfectly fine. I like this function to read the speed signs but it seems that it cannot function without the navigation. It pulls the data from the sign and then after 10 seconds, reversed back to gps/map data and that data is wrong. If I had the option to separate the two, just use the system to read the signs, without any input from the navigation, I would never even touch this problem.
  21. Ah ... that's cheered me up a bit .... thank you! Now to wait till Monday ...... :-)
  22. Almost the same symptoms that drove me mad for months - 'Online Services Controller' - the only difference is my iphone was also affected when connected to the Apple Play in the car.......? That false speed limit business really bugged me - some days the car thought it was on the beach at Skegness - and we live 70 miles from the coast....!
  23. Provided your usual garage has the equipment necessary to scan for DTCs recorded and have suitably qualified technicians, there should be no reason they would not be able to fix the problem.
  24. So I have a SKODA Fabia I Combi (6Y5) 1.2 64 hk which I´m trying my best to keep on the road. The latest issue happened when I suddenly lost power steering while driving off a motorway. When I got it home I noticed a pool of fluid under the hose where it has corroded and leaked over time. I bought a new hose from Autodoc and figured out how to remove the old one. But when as soon as I took the new one out of its packaging I noticed the banjo hose fitting was wrong. The old one has a 16mm opening while the new one has 14mm. See photo. I´ve spent the past few hours trying to find an alternative on Autodoc and other sites. I´ve been seaching other Fabia models and other car models to find a compatible product. Some products list the banjo size, most don´t, as 14mm. The OE number is given as 6Q1 423 893 but I suspect that my one has another number. Hope you guys can help. Anyone else had this issue?
  25. I have had my Scala for over 4 years now and I'm very fond of the vehicle. It has given no problem until yesterday, when starting it, 4 warnings lights came on, together with the wording in quick succession, Manouevre braking currently unavailable ABS/Stabaliser ESC currently unavailable Lane assist unavailable Front assist unavailable Error Tyre Pressure Loss indicator I noticed on this site that a Skoda owner had slightly similar experiences with warning lights coming on in his Superb. Two people replied that it sounded like a faulty wheel speed sensor. Would it be possible this is the case with my Scala? Replies much appreciated. Thanks.
  26. Sisted-in-law asked me to check the tyres in her 2017 1.2 110 bhp SE Fabia, as I often do when we visit her. I removed the factory steel spare wheel, which is full size and fitted with the same size tyre as the four alloy wheels; 185/60 R15. But it’s had thd yellow 80km/h speed restriction sticker like the skinny space saver spare. Anyone any idea why?
  27. Thank you .... but what to do?? Would I have to take it to a Skoda dealer (nearest is 30 miles away!) or could my usual garage sort it??
  28. After you explained to him that the car has been sat for three months did he clear the code to see if it returned?
  29. Just done a full service, and found this heat shield over the inner cv loose even though the bolts were tight. 5Q0407721 My thoughts that over time the metal washer inserts have become loose, refitted it with repair washers to nip it up. No rasping sound now on over run, so must have been that. Did sound quite good to be honest 🤣 Anyone else had any experience or fitted a brand new one before?
