Windows, Mirrors and Doors Issues
Broken wires in the body to door trunking are common on higher mileage cars.temperature Also a failed lock on the drivers door. The drivers door lock replacement is expensive in labour as the inside metal door panel has to be drilled out to remove the window mechanism in order to replace the lock. I know because my window winder failed and I had the intermittent lock replaced at the same time (temperature sensitive failing microswitch in the lock). I suggest you talk to a good auto electrician for advice. Mine says he regularly replaces locks, particularly on Audi A3s. He frequently fixes broken wires to the driver's door. Same with mirror controls but another cause for intermittent mirrors and window winders is the switch assemblies. Relatively cheap to replace as a diy job.

Hello, again
After a two year gap on “other” brands, I’m back with my 7th Skoda, which will be a 2019 Superb Estate Sportline with a 1.5tsi DSG. Its main duties will be carting one or two MTB about (inside) and taking us, our Labrador and grandchildren in various combinations on days out and holidays. On the test drive for the Superb I realised that I’ve really missed the Kodiaq that I sold. I’m impressed with the DSG in the Superb compared to the one I had in a 2012 Octavia VRS. Seems a lot smoother, but perhaps I “enjoyed” the VRS rather differently. ACC and DSG is a very interesting combo in traffic. Can’t wait to try that out properly. Forum is still a great resource. Thank you. 😎

What are they?
3rd agree, should be attached to the exhaust as they look like dampers to me. Also there is no tray, they go into a cross member between the subframe. Thats without looking at a parts list.

Another Oil Consumption Topic
Hmm, with the dpf deleted wouldnt the car smoke a lot and blow big black clouds of exhaust fumes out the back, with that kind of oil consumption. Personally wouldnt want to be driving behind your car...the exhaust fumes would smell really terrible and couldnt see **** for a while🤣. A working dpf really makes a difference, the diesel exhaust stays clean and doesnt smell anything like the old diesels did. Also in my country its illegal to delete dpf, if you get caught, the fines you get from doing that are counted in thousands of euros.

Lost Tailgate Led lights animation when unlocking the car 😕
I put all the details in lightning adaptations in Leuchte23SL HLC10, Leuchte24SL HRA65 and Leuchte27NSL RC6. First unlocking the car successfull😊 animation worked as it should. Closing the same. Then when I unlocked the car again went back to static. Locking still OK-animation works OK. I'm not sure if there is other module than Lightning Adaptations where animation of tailgate lights is controlled.. I will try, thanks Cairus. This backup has a lot of useful information 👌🙏 Obviously changes made with ignition on, engine off, bonet opened. After coding scanned for errors and cleared few archived ones, reset lights in car menu-factory reset-lights, infotainment reset and car left for 20 minutes with key away from it...

Won't adding front parking sensors also require the PDC module to be changed from a 4 channel one to an 8 channel one?

2026 Sportline MHEV
On my early Mk4 (2020) there are options to change colour and brightness of the ambient lighting; I assume similar on the newer FL models so maybe check for the brightness settings.

2026 Sportline MHEV
How do i activate my ambient lighting? I can get the spectrum to show up and I can change the screen background but there are no lights on the door strips or across the dashboard. I have the free month trial of Ambient Lighting Additional Colours and Ambient Lighting Additional Features installed from the My Skoda app and activated, but nothing lights up. Can I get rid of or change the red ring around the 2 circular dashboard dials?

What are they?
Agreed... They are the exhaust hangers (or in this case they are 'inverted' hangers

Unless I'm missing something, aren't they supports for the exhaust rather than pipes?

Wheel Caps
I have the following wheel caps on my MY20 Mk3 Octavia. The chrome finish is prone to corroding and I am already on a second set. At £18 each, £72 for the set is a bit steep however, I will be getting my Geminis refurbished imminently and begrudge putting the old caps back on in their current state. Wings SKODASKODA Decorative centrepiece of the wheel SKODAEven your SKODA deserves to be elegant at all times. In case you ever loose it, SKODA Genuine Accessories offers you a decorative wheel centrepiece with new company badge, which is perfectly identicalThe following are the “latest style” wheel caps, available at a far more reasonable £20 a set. The MY20 Mk3 Octavia isn’t listed as a compatible vehicle however. Has anybody fitted these to a Mk3 Octavia or able to advise on how the finish holds up? I’ll probably give Wings a call to clarify the compatibility and report back. Wings SKODASKODA Decorative Wheel Caps - Latest StyleBy using the wide range of Škoda Genuine Accessories you can draw individual style of your car to perfection. Fit the already attractive light alloy wheels of your car with wheel center caps. Plastic

RNS 315 Fabia mk2 Retrofit
All sounds perfectly fine. The radio will go into standby when you take the key out. Yes, you can still turn it back on as it's on a permanent live, but while it's off, it's drawing next to nothing. I did the same retrofit to my mum's (now mine) Fabia II Combi in 2014, 12 years later, both the car and the RNS-315 have been fine with no flat battery issues. However, that said I finally removed it about two weeks ago and replaced it with an RCD 360. As map support for the RNS-315 ended years ago, I wanted more functional sat-nav in the car, so the CarPlay support of the 360 - and its factory look - has worked well. I just need someone with VCDS to hemp me code out the reversing camera setting on it.
