Why not do it properly at the control unit connector by building a Y-adapter?

The real answer is trained sales staff and trained management. Motability sales people were specialists that had knowledge. The whole selling and leasing of EV,s is a farce with many places. Even at Arnold Clarks multi million EV sales establishments where they are supposedly Pure dead brilliant or GENIUS as their ads went. As to PARK,s the ever growing business in Scotland they excel in hopelessness. Autocar, Auto express, Which or just Motability need to get secret shoppers in to these establishments.

As with finance about a third of people just don't have the numbers and understanding of energy capacity, energy transfer rates etc. Not sure I know the answers, maybe PHEVs.

Welcome. It is a MK3 Fabia. Averaging 35 mpg is maybe alright depending where driven and how. If mostly short drives around town then does it ever get to 40 mpg plus? On runs at UK nsl,s does it ever show 50 mpg and plus? Has it a nice fresh clean air filter and spark plugs that were replaced sometime in the past 4 years, and are the tyre pressures ok?

Fuel economy is highly sensitive to driving style - my 1.4TSI Octavia shows a long-term average of about 42mpg, including a lot of short trips; SWMBOs 1.0TSI Fabia easily gets high 40s, also on short trips. I'd consider 35mpg average to very low - how short are most of your trips - does the engine usually get up to full temperature?

Was looking at a newer fabia for my son and read real world mpg figures are 45-55 on long smooth runs but 35-40 if journeys are short and lots of stop start city/heavy traffic Alasdair

I just meet a lovely couple with a brand new Suzuki Vitara EV. Supplied by a dealer 30 miles away and they live a further 12 miles from here. The have 60% charge in car, no home charger fitted yet and they came to charge. Parks salesperson explained nothing. Motability car and no Motability card for charging yet because nobody told them to get one ordered at time of car ordered. They know nothing about AC and slow chargers or AC and home charging. They know nothing about kWh,s or kW and charging speeds. They are now off to try the charger at the Farm Shop and using a credit card. I showed the lady Apps and tried explaining the various providers. I checked where they are and there is 1 AC charger a couple of miles from them and it is out of order. Real world EV,s and Dealership providing disabled people and EV.

Hi again! So, I managed to reach the solenoid component and bend the little pins to increase the contact. I did a scan on the module and erase the error, and finally got rid of it. Indeed, the component that hold the solenoid is the last component you can reach after you disassemble the entire central console. I took some photos, but not with exact steps to follow. The tools that I needed were prying tools for the trims, T20 and T30, a 10mm socket(preferable a longer one as the screws are a bit longer) and a flat screwdriver to help me with the removal of the different connectors. I’ll try to explain the steps as best I remember: Remove the trim with the gearbox selector and the wireless charger with the prying tool and unclip all the connectors. After that is removed, you have 4 T20 screws, two on each side that you have to remove. In the front row also, the central console has two “skirts” that needs to be removed. These have one screw each, almost at the extremity near the accelerator pedal(for me, as i have LHD) and on the other side as well. After the screw is removed, pull the skirt to the side and down, they’ll come off quite easy. Remove the rear usb chargers trim/rear vents with a prying tool. Start from the bottom, there are two clips, one on each side, then go up, and you’ll find two more, one on each side. After that, gently pull from the bottom towards upright and use the prying tool to unclip it from near the armrest hinge. Once that is removed you will have to remove the duct vent and you’ll be able to reach the 2 T30 screws, that you have to remove. Once that is done, you’ll be able to remove the central console, but you have to unplug the connectors for the parking brake/autohold. Remove the T20 screw from the front side metal part that provide the 220V current and the two T30 from the back. There is no need to unplug it. You just take it out of the way. Remove the two T30 screws from the plastic bracket that holds the central console with the 4 screws from step 2. Remove the duct vent. Use the prying tool to unclip the keyless module from the upper side. (This step can be ignored i think, as after I removed it, I saw that it wasn’t blocking anything) Remove the 4 10mm nuts that holds the final plastic part, that cover the module with the solenoid. Remove the solenoid with prying tools on the clips and gently pull it upward to not damage the pins. Once you the solenoid, bend the little pins so it makes a better contact with the counterpart. Everything in reverse order, making sure you don’t force/break anything and you don’t forget about the connectors.

That code is just a referral, saying "check engine ECU, it has a stored fault code", I think.

From memory bearing has to come out to replace splash guard anyway and safer to remove sensor when removing bearing . Reckon easiest way is to remove knuckle and scrap it with bearing and replace with new/second hand knuckle plus new bearing,splash guard and sensor. Dont fancy trying to get the old bearing bolts out judging by the corrosion on knuckle anyway. Whats the other side like? Alasdair

Hello. Some time ago my skoda Columbus system started acting up and just isnt starting. I have seen several posts here with kinda similar problem. One fix i have seen here is updating with a firmware which some people can give here. I do hope its the system not the hdd that has failed. Could someone give the link to the ISO for my car fix? Also im kinda curious why is the link only given with PM-s? Some legal thing?

Same crap. Charging AC at Girvan harbour. CPS and Electroverse card no access. Got phone answer quick and no Messing about with Liam. ID checked and remote start done. I waited till I needed 11 kWh as £5 minimum charge. Hopefully just a 90 minute wait as I listen to the radio and a full charge for early tomorrow start. PS now going to leave the car untill I see it has charged enough for a fivers worth. 20 minutes and only got 1.5 kWh of electric. 75 pence. PPS. Back at car. Still 36 minutes till fully charged estimated. There have been 4 cars turning up to the DC charger with no idea if the area but have already been to other Ayrshire chargers not working and unaware of Dowhill Farm Fayre,s charger.
