  2. Not sure if this is relevant but: I sent a route to the car yesterday that didn't arrive. When I got to my destination I thought I'd give the Pay to Park a try. Oddly it told me I had to be the primary user. Apparently I've been operating as a guest, which is something the car has done itself. Logged in as Primary User & sent another route, which this time arrived. So may be worth checking your are actually the Primary User & haven't been mysteriously switched to a guest account, which obviously wouldn't be connected to the app. I'm guessing this switching is what produces the random "Your settings have changed" message.
  3. Great. I must have the limited edition 2 screen version, where from some angles you have see a line down the middle.

  5. @Michalson Is this a totally different car from the one you posted about in June that was running a Stage 2 remap?
  6. Scrap the above. Just had another look and reckon I have got it. Compared the two and had a closer look. Absolutely choked with cold/flue so brain not working as well as it should. Thanks for the reply Alasdair
  7. Update 1. ŠKODA Customer services replied Friday with email address of VAG Digital Services customer support. Emailed them and got a reply Saturday evening requesting details of how I was using the function. Replied with step by step details of actions taken in the App and screen prints of each step outcome.
  8. Yes found it but also another from febi. Hatboy installed his downwards and febi more horizontal so not sure which way is correct. On the hatboy one it looked like it needed lifted to fit ball joint and febi needed pushed down. Cant tell on mine as both centres of bushes have parted so they were loose and no way of telling Alasdair

  10. @zeta_91 Thanks for the response, but unfortunately, this is unrelated to a leak around the exhaust or its sensors. I haven't heard a similar sound from any diesel engine.
  11. On my EA888/CCZA Gen 2 engine, I have very rough idle and I get a persistent check engine light with a P0441 code, for incorrect EVAP purge flow. When I bought the car in January this year, the error appeared then disappeared after a longer drive, but then came back. The original N80 valve was clicking, and read it should be replaced. 5 months ago, I bought this aftermarket valve which, at the time, was the only unit I could find which had the plastic tubing already sealed onto it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/168055772718 The original OEM valve had similar plastic tubing and the same connections. I fitted the new assembly and reset the code, but the same code keeps re-appearing after about 500 miles. I check the lines between the intake manifold, purge vavle, charcoal canister and fuel tank line are secure and reset the code, but it still re-appears. My friend noticed this port on the right of the intake manifold is open, as shown in the photo. Someone on this thread: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/516628-swirl-flap-solenoid-pic/ suggests that this port is usually blanked off from factory, but I can't find a source to back this up. There's a suggestion from Google AI that the open port means the vacuum pressure is being vented to atmosphere and this affects the EVAP flow, but again there's no source, though it would explain the rough idle if there's a vacuum leak. There are bungs available for blanking off open ports but I'm unsure if this will worsen the issue. There's no vacuum pressure when you put a finger over the port. I checked PCV pressure by loosening the oil filler cover and there's a gentle suction. I don't have VCDS so can't test the purge actuator or read further codes beyond what my basic OBD reader can see. Can anyone suggest further troubleshooting steps? Suggestions include replacing the charcoal canister or the fuel cap. The mechanic wanted about £200 to replace just the purge valve.
  12. Hi, do I understand correctly that I need to downgrade the map version to an older one and try again? But where can I get a version that will allow me to do this? MIB3 won't let me, unless I go through the service menu. Do you happen to have such a version?
  13. A 24 year old car might have had several interiors since it left the factory.

  15. TPMS,s really only became common because of Run Flat tyres and BMW / MINI drivers not noticing a flat or a blow out. A worry that a Yeti driver is not aware they have a puncture. They obviously should be aware no functioning TPMS when never testing or resetting pressures or replacing tyres and resetting the TPMS.
  16. That is a really interesting find. Good to see that the odd rarity still crops up. Looking at that I would say that they are genuine as they match the factory seat stitching for a pre facelift. As far as I'm aware the Edition 100 was based on the facelift and the seat stitching style was different between the two. Odd that the car doesn't appear to have rear parking sensors which I'm certain was standard on the elegance.
  17. If your profile is correct, and you have a 2012 Superb then that will be the h3 main beam bulb. Put your reg into https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/ and it will give you the correct bulbs for your car.
  18. You can have the data; I’ll take a look at it later.
  19. Didn’t hat boy Harvey on youtube do this, on his take a look at his videos
  20. Depending how leggy the 3T is why not just keep it. The MK2 was well made and handles big miles well. I have a MK2 170 TDI and a MK3 TSI 280 and they are completely different. You don’t get the torque of the diesel low down in the TSI. After driving diesels for 27 years ish they were very torquey compared to a similar powered petrol car, which felt like you needed to rev a lot more to get peak power, then felt like a boy racer.
  21. Retrofitting this would require adding a button, coding the ABS (provided it is compatible), and updating the instrument cluster. Been through all that. I don't have the reset button, but it's only a switch and doesn't prevent coding. In fact, there's a coding block in ABS module 03 to reset if you don't have the button. "ABS provided it's compatible" is probably key, but nobody seems to know what makes an ABS unit compatible and what doesn't? I'd need a vcds log print from a similar Yeti to compare the ABS hardware ID and its coding. Instruments may also be part of the solution. In the meantime (I don't like them!) an aftermarket external TPMS for £20 and display plugging in the cigarette socket will have to do. I'm just disapointed this 2012 car didn't have the basic TPMS function when my older V.W does.
  22. This February 2024 Skoda Storyboard Škoda StoryboardInterior: Six Design Selections, sustainable materials an...› Many packages, individual options and new Simply Clever features › Sustainable upholstery and door panel materials include recycled fabrics, …states that for 'upgraded' Kamiq and Scala models a 8" Digital Display became standard, with a 10" Virtual Cockpit a an option. 8-inch Digital Display as standard, customisable Virtual Cockpit as an optionThe upgraded Scala and Kamiq come with an 8-inch Digital Display as standard on all models. The optional, customisable Virtual Cockpit offers a 10-inch display. As I said above, UK-marketed Fabias now have a 10.25" Virtual Cockpit as standard EXCEPT for the 'entry-level' SE Edition model that has the 8" Digital Display. The trim levels of current-model UK-specification Fabias are summarised here: https://www.motorpoint.co.uk/model-guides/skoda-fabia-models-and-trim-levels-explained The online Owner's Manual for my late-2023-built Fabia SE L has an issue-date of 19.6.2023 and contains no mention of a "Digital Display", whereas the "Driver information system" section in the next Owners Manual chronologically (issue date 15.1.2024) has two sub-sections - one for a "Digital screen" (ie. the 8" Digital Display) and another for the Virtual Cockpit (ie. the 10.25" instrument-cluster screen). Personally, I'd be perfectly happy with the capabilities of the 8" Digital Display. Although my Fabia has a the big (9") infotainment screen with 'navigation', I've no wish to display mapping in the instrument-cluster - a feature that's only possible with the Virtual Cockpit. But, as I also don't wish to pair a phone with my car, nor play music within it, nor have the radio on, I'm probably not a typical mid-2020s car owner.

  24. Surely it's in Skoda's interest get this avoided during manufacture. It's all over the internet from way back. The trouble is you take the car as it is and no dealer will admit to being aware of the fault. I'm happy to settle for a Kia or a Mazda as that is what the dealer sells primarily .Mine was a trade in.....I wonder why!! My son works as an accident estimator for VW and looked at it soon after I had it, he thought it had a small prang around the left bumper/number plate. I also discovered that they had put new plates on and put the wrong reg. by one digit! So they were very humble about that!! Imagine if I had been stopped!?! My opinion of dealerships, particularly salesmen has not improved with this experience!! They are billy b**sh**rs!
  25. Thank you what a palaver! Mine is a mark 4 I believe. It's still got Skoda warranty until March 27. I have not accepted this, I am not being fobbed off. Guess what though, I wrote a letter as advised by Citizens advice who gave me a template to start and my rights from the 2015 consumer act, so if bought the car between 30 days and 6 months I give them 1 chance at repair and if it fails I'm entitled to a replacement. I addressed my letter to the CEO of the motor group and lo and behold got a call the next day, and the following day a call to book the car in this wednesday! They had 14 days to reply but someone got a boot up the you know where!😅 So to anyone, do not give up, persistence and knowledge of the law go far! I mean obviously I'm not there yet but I feel that I will be.....
  26. You’re stuck in a boot loop. Remove the unit, set it up on a workbench, and establish a UART connection. Check if the boot flash is still functional. If it is, force the device into emergency mode and perform a firmware reinstallation.
  27. In the PQ vehicle platform, an active tire pressure monitoring system was extremely rare. The Yeti only featured a passive system that relied on the ABS. Retrofitting this would require adding a button, coding the ABS (provided it is compatible), and updating the instrument cluster.
  28. 2012 TPMS became mandatory on all new type approved cars EU. 2014 became Mandatory. 2015 became part of UK MOT.
  29. In the case of VW and Skoda, the head unit cannot be used to drive speaker channels 5 and 6—at least, I know this for certain regarding the MIB 2 Standard, and it should be the same for the MHI2. Unlike Seat and Audi—which utilize an internal sound system (i.e., the sound system is managed directly by the head unit)—VW and Skoda have always relied on an external amplifier for these channels. Consequently, there is a hardware difference in the MIB 2 Standard: Seat’s circuit board features two audio controllers, whereas VW and Skoda have only one. Furthermore, the hardware circuitry for channels 5 and 6 is entirely absent from the VW and Skoda boards.
  30. The many LR Defenders that are seen everywhere where built in Slovakia and have their loose squeaky doors and various other faultS. Who knows just how bad the Type 01 might be with it being assembled in Britain.
